gym is okay, not worth its $$ due to the experience & staff member @ childcare. the one trainer I worked with was pretty awesome (Jason) super intense def recommend him. I chose this gym because of the child care it provided paying 20 extra. basically the employee was saying the reason why my 2yo toddler was so rowdy and hyper while I work out is because I work all day and drop him off at the gym daycare. so I pay no attention to him and because im a single mom and his father isnt in his life im doing something wrong. yup she said that to me. apparently she became my psych and told me how it is and im pretty much doing a poor job of raising my kid bc im a single mom. THANKS. I complained to mgmt. and they ended up firing her only because she had MULTIPLE complaints from other mothers to. W-O-W. then another time sunday mornings I would work out in the old basketball court and I had this old guy threatening me, even threw the ball at me because I was in his way even though I was working out first. they didnt do crap, I even tried placing a police report on the old guy. well the gym didnt do crap except tell me hes been a long time member blahblah and theyll talk to him. Ohhh.. So if youre a long time member that gives you a right to throw basketballs at women while working out. GOTCHA. Ive never had so many issues at one gym before. you get what you pay for? not in this case. (this review was posted 2 years ago, updated 9/19/16 when I received an e-mail asking me to come back to the join due a special promotion-- WHAT? after all the issues and poor customer service YUP youre the first place I would run back to if I needed to join a gym. NOT)

Terrible customer service I wont even consider joining now. I am a certified personal trainer and Ive worked in a gym before myself. Just called to ask general pricing questions like i have many times to many other gyms. This is the first time ever in all the gyms Ive called in many states they were this unprofessional. Tried asking for pricing first the counter girl said 19.99 month when i asked for monthly, i had to ask a few times that was contract having been in the business i figured she didnt actually mean monthly and i was right only because i knew shed be mistaken. Then the jerky sounding guy in membership told me they have that with a year contract. Asked him how much down and he refused to tell me. Told him i was hurting for money mom just died and i just moved back i am pricing gym. Didnt care just repeated he couldnt give that info over the phone (literally every other gym in america does-Ive lived in/worked in/priced checked probably 200+ gyms in multiple states and counties- this was/is my job) he was just punishing to get me in (so he could try to sell me in person obviously ) asked again he finally said it varies based on things like kids club i said i dont need any extras just the cheapest he still refused to tell me when i said well i need to know how much money to bring in with mehe cut me off being a jerk said "well thanks for calling". What a jerk. Any fitness professional experiencing that would agree not to even bother. Now i see why i saw a similarly review when i googled the number . Idbe careful with these jerks

Terrible customer service! Thank God I only went there for a trial. Al was the epitome of a used car salesmen. We dropped our daughter off in the child care facility which is the entire reason we chose this gym. The area was dirty and unkept. I asked if they would have someone sitting with her. Al assured me that she would be fine. When I returned to pick her up she was sitting on the floor with a young girl who couldnt be anymore than 10 years old. The floor was filthy with small pieces of debris everywhere that my daughter could have picked up and put in her mouth. The bathroom was also disgusting. The changing table was so dirty I decided to wait to change my child until we got her to the car. As we were getting ready to walk out we saw Al again who asked how our first day went. We advised him that we were pleased with everything except the child care. We told him of his concerns about the possibility of choking and he said "I HOPE THAT DOESNT HAPPEN BUT IF IT DID AT LEAST THE PARAMEDIC IS RIGHT DOWN THE STREET" Are you serious?? He also said it isnt a daycare its babysitting so they only have one person to watch 10 kids. We will not be returning because of our concern for safety. We also will not be returning because of Als basic disregard for concern of health or safety. A lot can happen especially with an unattended 8 month old in 90 minutes. No thanks. We will go to the YMCA and pay double the money where at least I know my child will be safe.

I am a member here and have been since 2006. They have very recently updated their membership fees, which now in my opinion match the quality and services offered. The drawbacks about the club: Ive requested many times to get recycling bins in there and other such, simple, upgrades. Still, no bins. Every year in Oct they charge an extra amount - your annual dues. While this is on top of my monthly dues, I dont so much mind it because the "bonus" is supposed to go to club upgrades. The problem here is that Ive NO idea where that money goes. The place needs a really good dusting and some machines and equipment need replacing. Id love it if theyd provide an email or letter to all members where that extra annual payment goes. The wonderful attributes: The classes and plethora of equipment, tools, etc., to keep exercise new and challenging. The classes are outstanding. While you need to match your needs and personality with particular instructors, the format and challenge of the classes are excellent. As for the members themselves - I find it ranges. There will always be those men and women who workout seemingly daily and for hours and prance around. But, for me, thats good entertainment! The rest of us range from school teachers, academics, administrators, health care providers, parents, senior citizens, and college/grad school students. I think its an easy place to be and work out.

I have been a member for 2 years, I was sold on the classes-supposedly yoga and pilates. Both were phoney commercially choriographed versions that are taught by employees. High potential for injury from racing through "yoga" and "pilates" poses/exercises shown incorrectly. The snide "Pilates" instructor makes cutting remarks to customers, pointing out how she is both older AND in much better shape. Opposite of inspiring. Furthermore, once Inshape in Branford, CT has your bank in formation, they will take after having called, emailed, faxed, shown up in person, met with 2 different "membership specialists" AL and KIM over and over, who assure you everything from your account is settled- but each month making up new rules for why they have billed me yet AGAIN, BOTH MONTHLY AND ANNUAL FEES. I quit back in October, with my 2 minor sons. As of 1/4/16 I am still being billed for monthly membership fees. Conclusion: Inshape of Branfords employees will say ANYTHING to continue to remove money from your account. PROTECT YOURSELVES.
