I dropped my car on Saturday 8.28.10 at approximately 11am. I informed the customer service representative of the issues I was having. Finally I received a phone call at 4pm later that day to inform me that they would not be able to get to the car that day, very well. The manager also went on to tell me that it would be diagnosed first thing Sunday the 29th. After waiting all day for a phone call, I decided to reach out to them at 4pm. My phone call seemed to be a nuisance to the gentleman who answered the phone. He went on to recommend several repairs to the car and was rather curt. I asked him if the one thing I brought the car in for was completed, he said no and that it could be completed by the end of the day. I then asked if the car was still stalling, he replied that it had not stalled at all when his technician drove it. That told me one of two things, either he was not speaking about the right car or he did not really drive it. Either way, terrible service. When I arrived to pick up the car, I am told they will need to keep it until Monday morning to get an estimate on another part, suffice it to say I once again had to call the shop at 11:30 8.30.10 to get a response. Lastly, the gentleman who answered the phone on Sunday told me that I was called twice that day and messages were left. That was a complete lie, my phone is glued to my hip 24 hours a day. I asked him to read back my phone number, which he did correctly which again told me that he was lying. I will not be visiting this service center again. I was completely dissatisfied with the service of the personnel. I will also recommend to the rest of my friends and family that they steer clear of this place. I will also be sending a formal letter to the corporate Firestone offices. By the way, I took the car to a local Cromwell shop on Sebethe drive. They finished the car in one day and charged half what Firestone wanted.

I had an appoinment for 8:30am with them and my vehicle wasnt brought into the shop until 9:15am. This was just to have their complete vehicle inspection completed. They performed this task and recommended a number of services for my vehicle. I do believe that the vast majority of what they recommended was legit, but trying to sell me four new tires seemed a bit premature given my current set (i.e. probably an upsell going on there to increase shop revenue) In addition, when I indicated that I wasnt going to have any of the recommended labor done today, they said theyd get my car ready for me to leave. The tech who was working on my car all but disappeared and I waited for easily 30 minutes before he came back to put my tires back on and get the car out of the bay. Meanwhile, another customer had come in (he also had an appointment) and was upset because his car wasnt in at the appointed time. He was told by the front desk kid that as soon as a bay was freed up he would be next in. But it didnt look like they cared about getting my vehicle out in a timely fashion so this guy could have his in. Also, their hourly labor rate is $100 (I dont know about you, but I dont know any mechanics that are worth $200,000/yr). So while I feel for the most part their service recommendations were on the up and up, their lack of customer service, their slow response, etc. make this a shop I dont intend to utilize again in the future.

This is the second and last time I will use this place. Their customer service sucks. I purchased 4 new tires on Friday and while waiting for them to be mounted I heard them tell the next 5 customers that there where serious safety issues with their vehicle and they needed xyz done immediately. When it was my turn to checkout they told me I needed a timing belt or really bad things could happen to my vehicle. I googled timing belt and they confirmed bad things could happen. I dropped my vehicle off 8:00am Tuesday morning for a 6 hour repair, received an estimate and a ride home in the courtesy car. At 4:30 pm I called to see if my vehicle was ready they said they tried to call me earlier, I checked my caller ID and there was NO call. I requested that the courtesy car pick me up, they said OK. At 6:00pm there was no car and no call so I called them again. I wa passed to 3 associates before being told I need to get another ride because their driver had gone home early. I intentionally walked the 3 miles to the shop to pick up my vehicle, this will serve as reminder to never use this shop again. Upon arrival there was an add on charge to my bill outside of the estimate, as I was not in a civil mood at the time I just paid the bill, got in my vehicle and left permamently.

I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to write this one as every time I look up Firestones phone number on Google, the first thing that pops up is Firestones two star rating. This two star rating has been hanging around for a while and I feel it is not a fair representation of Firestone in Cromwell. I have used Firestone for servicing two vehicles for over 5 years now. Not once have I ever felt like I have been mistreated, misguided or misrepresented! The staff is friendly, respectful and they have never tried to upsell me on any kind of service or repair.I totally trust them! One service that they provide is providing you a ride, if you live nearby, in order for you not to have to wait for car while it is being serviced. I just returned from having work done on my car and I cant say enough about the professional staff...I especially would like to commend John for his friendly but professional manner.

I have been dealing with this place for several years but will not return. I purchased a full set of tires there for my daughters car. They are less than 2 years old and have less than 10K miles on them. One rear tire was low. I told her to take it back to Firestone and have them look at it. They told her it was not repairable. They also said they found a shard in the other rear tire and she would have to replace both tires. She couldnt afford that, so after waiting there for two hours, she drove the car back home. I looked at the tire and found a screw had penetrated it in the tread. I plugged it and it is fine. The other tire had nothing wrong with it at all. Bottom line, they tried to get her to pay for two new tires when all she needed was a plug in one. They also kept the rear valve caps. These guys are either incompetent or unethical.

Thought Id give a different sort of story from July. After our incredible 105 degree hot spell, I went to pick my car up from the airport long-term parking lot where it had been sitting for the week uncovered and in direct sunlight. It wouldnt start, which is an awful experience after a long day of flying. An airport employee helped my restart it, and I took it to the Firestone because its very near my house. The guys ran diagnostic tests, and could have told me just about anything. At the very least, I was expecting to buy a new battery. They told me that everything tested in good condition, and asked how the car had performed on my drive from the airport. They charged me ONLY for the oil change I also asked for, and sent me on my way. They were honest, and they were right! My car has been fine ever since...
