Typically have great service at the post office and my home delivery guy is great. Did have an experience at the Backus office around Christmas time though when an employee snapped at me because I started to walk towards his booth once the prior customer left and he wasnt ready for me. I didnt hear him tell me to wait and he yelled for me to STOP in a rude, antagonizing manner. He curtly and nastily told me hed call me if and when he was ready. I wanted to jump across the counter and kick the crap out of him but Ill leave the "going postal" to the employees. Maybe a co-worker will take him out. Had another instance when a different guy wouldnt even give me a piece of tape to seal an envelope... told me I needed to buy an entire roll.

Where do I begin... this has to be one of the worst service Ive ever experienced. This station miss delivered or lost or two of my packages. Sucks but I understand these things happen Im very reasonable. But things get weird when I call to find out any information regarding to where it might be. So after being on hold for about 20 mins and hung up on twice I finally get a hold of some one who basically said (in the most smug rude way possible) tough luck some one must have stole it. Maybe they are overworked and just dont want to deal with people I dont know but I find this very unprofessional. I had to reorder the packages and crossing my fingers they dont get "lost or stolen" again. Good grief.

In the past, Ive sent 3 packages from this post office, priority mail. Big problems with 2 of the packages. One of them I was told package should arrive in 3 days and the receipt also showed expected delivery, 3 days. The package arrived 10 days later. Another piece of priority mail went missing for a month before being delivered. They didnt do anything to try and find it. It just should up. Im not comfortable sending important packages from the Danbury Post Office. I now send all my mail and packages via the mailroom of my office in Stamford.

Lines are reasonable and move fast. Every time Ive gone there, there has always been plenty of counter help. They have been very helpful and friendly...even when I come right at closing time. Only negative is trying to reach them by phone to get a question answered without having to drive there...impossible. I have never been able to get through. I always get a "that number is busy" recording telling you to try your call again later and hanging up on you. Other than that, great service.

Whatever happened to nor rain, sleet or snow shall stop the mail from being delivered?, guess if your arm does not reach from the truck to mail box because of snow it means they can do nothing. Next is opening up a 9am to 5:30 pm, I work for a living just like everyone else so now need to go in late to get mail and pay bills. My father worked for the post office for many years but back then they put more effort in to get the job done, wow, what a shame as to how they are now.

The person in charge of deliver the mail, at my address near coal-pit hill rd did not even knocked my door and left the note on my mail box about rescheduling my delivery because nobody was at home, I called right away the post office due to this is the third time, that he/she does it to me, they get paid to at least get a One time Ring on the house but they are so lazy that dont want to do that.What a shame.

Every time I come here with outgoing packages I am pleasantly surprised by how completely painless the process is, even with complicated transactions. The workers at the front desk are always pleasant, quick and helpful. Lines move quickly unless you go at lunch. Parking is ample. This is my favorite post office. Why cant the DMV be this easy?

Your mail delivery person on my route is rude and constantly delivers the wrong mail. Why are these ignorant people employed? Very rude and disrespectful. He needs to be put in the back room and not out in public. Doesnt know how to treat people with respect. Get this a hole off my route please

This post office is routinely mis-delivering or not delivering my mail. Ive complained many times already about the sloppy work, now Ill be filing a complaint with the Inspector General. It shouldnt be a surprise to anyone that the Main St. office is being closed.

I just tried calling twice - 9:30AM - 40 plus rings each time - nobody will answer - completely mismanaged - what a joke! If they worked for a private company they would be unemployed..
