I really like this gym; it has nice, new equipment and its in a great location. Unfortunately, this location has an incompetent and incredibly rude and condescending general manager, Brian. I had the misfortune of meeting Brian today when I inquired about the gym membership cost difference from what I paid a few weeks ago vs what I found online over the weekend. I called Sunday to ask about this and one of his employees left him a note to call me back yesterday, which he did not, so I came in today to speak with someone about it. Not a big deal. I just wanted to see if they could match the deal online for me or not. I didnt know if they could make that work for me, but why not try! I am absolutely shocked by the way Brian spoke to me when I inquired about the different gym memberships. He didnt let me explain my question and just started lecturing me. When I tried to redirect him because he didnt let me finish what I wanted to ask or let me ask further questions about something I didnt quite understand, he scolded me for interrupting him and asked me how is he going to explain anything to me if Im keep interrupting him? Fortunately, Brian did let me know that he has "excellent customer service skills". Normally, I let things like this go, but the way he acted bothered me so much! I went back to the front desk and told him that I didnt appreciate the way he just spoke to me. He didnt even let me get the entire sentence out without interrupting me so that he could speak to another employee. Three weeks ago I was really excited to have joined this gym. Im sad that this happened today. I hope Brian finds a job that is a better fit for him because management is just not his forte. Brian should get some tips from his employees because they really do have excellent customer service skills; especially Joe who helped get me signed up in the first place! Really great experience with him.

Although this gym has excellent equipment and is overall a great gym, the management is not. I signed up for their free 3 day trial guest pass and drove to the gym. The weekend general manager, Amanda, asked for me to present a local ID, which I did not have. I pointed out that no where on their website nor in the fine print of the guest pass did it say that I had to have a local ID to work out here. She then directed my attention to a sign on the wall that said that a local ID must be presented. I tried to contest this, noting that this should have been written somewhere in the fine print before I took the time to drive down there and planned my day around working out that day. Amanda said something along the lines of “I cant let you work out, I could get fired if I do.” However, the other employee there suggested that if I pay $15, I could work out there.... without a local ID. So, in my experience the management did not handle the situation well. It was not so much as me having to have to prove residency as having to have to pay to work out or at least be sold on buying a membership. I think the situation could have been solved easily if the GM just allowed me to work out for free, as the free trial guest pass was intended, and within the limits of the fine print of the guest pass. I was pretty disappointed with the quality of management in this gym and the unwillingness to waive a fee that was not supposed to be there in the first place. I wasted 30 minutes of my life and some gas because of this. I hope this review can be helpful to anyone planning on trying this gym out.

The gym itself is nice, equipment wise, but if you ever need to talk to staff about your account for any reason youre wasting your time. They dont call back so youre forced to chase them down, they dont work with existing customers to try and keep them and they simply dont care about whether you stay or go. They have great promotion deals for new people to get you in, but if youre unlucky enough to sign up in between deals then you have to cancel your account and sign back up again under the deal and pay the initiation fees again whether or not youve been there for years. The GM Brian will talk to you with a calm demeanor while essentially saying he doesnt care about your concerns. The Operations manager Adam will just say "thats the policy" over and over again. If you contact member services they will try and help you and say things such as "i know its the policy but let me try and help you out" and they are actually pretty good about working with you. I had no issues at the Newington branch and wish I never switched because at least there they would try and keep you. This branch is essentially the Comcast of Gyms, they brag about customer service while doing literally nothing to try and keep customers.

Tried to workout there this Sunday. Too late to go to my regular gym. Done this twice before. Pay $15 and sign a waiver. This time some stupid little sales jerk wants me to come to a desk and give him some I.D. so he can try and sell me a membership. I get this if its a guest pass or something, but I pay the $15 so I dont have to listen to the lying dweebs. Dumbest, and worst customer service experience Ive had in 40 years of going to gyms. Clearly a corporation that would do anything for a buck. I would have been a fairly regular paying guest, now Ill never go back there again. Would recomend you do the same.

Today 3/26/17 once again we were not able to get into gym because workers didnt have a key. This is not an isolated incident. It is becoming to be a little too common and is really upsetting me now. How is it that a company cannot be ready to service paying loyal customers and not have any real valid reason as to why this mishap is continually happening. I wake up early to get my workout in and be done with it. I refuse to hear any more excuses and I highly recommend that you look elsewhere to join if you can.....I repeat.....this is not an isolated incident and that is why I have no choice but to submit this review.

The fact it at least has a pool is all I need. My issue is management and some of the staff. Today I got a call about giving me a fitness assessment, and the guy on the phone seemed to take offense to the fact I said "no". He proceeded to give me extended sass and sarcasm, which was uncalled for, but oh well, hope they took me off their call list. This is the third time they called, and the third time I said no to their fitness assessment offer, I hope third times the charm. Usually Id give the benefit of the doubt, but this is not an isolated incident, same thing happened to a friend of mine.
