I walked to this business from the center of Manchester, during our penultimate snowstorm of this long 2014-2015 winter, to buy a mailing envelope for a bulky document, to have the package weighed, and to buy USPS postage for it. And to buy a couple first class stamps. Given that theres no post office in the Main Street area of Manchester, this was the only place within walking distance where I could access those services, as far as I knew, and I was glad to find it. Alas, I discovered after returning with my package (that still needed a couple tweaks) that the young staff person had not given me the two postage stamps Id paid for when she handed me my change and receipt. Shortly thereafter, after brushing snow from several mailboxes on Main Street, I also realized that the two staffers had given me misinformation about the last mailbox pickup times in the center of town; if Id had accurate information, I would have stayed in the shop, completed my package, and dropped it in their pickup box. I tried phoning the shop right away to arrange for the folks to mail me my stamps, but voicemail picked up & the system did not allow me to leave a message. Days later I called and politely asked the business owner to please pop the two stamps Id bought but not received into an envelope to send them to me because I didnt want to have to walk (more than a mile round trip) to make up for the stores error. The owner was cranky about it and said I could come pick them up, but "For two stamps, no, Im not going to do it [mail them]." I gave her a chance to reconsider, saying that she could avoid a poor review online by just mailing me the two stamps, and she said to go ahead with the poor review. Its a shame that theres not a competitor (yet) in the Main Street area; we could use such a service in the center of town, which is pleasantly walkable and ought to have all these services within walking distance. Lets hope for one--run by people who want satisfied customers. At least enough to spend 50 cents to avoid a bad review.

If you are shipping UPS or FedEx, they will up-charge you at least 15% (maybe even 20%) for them to print the label for you. On top of that, the attendants there will need you to repeat how to spell common words like "silver" numerous times in order for them to spell it correctly for your label... Good for dropping off locally and nothing else.

I dont recommend the Mail Room. The attendants are cranky and not very knowledgeable. There are other places you can go like FedEx or UPS staffed facilities in the local area that are much more friendly and have a lot more options for you. Surprised these guys are still in business the way they are run.

Ruth and the staff always take care of me, from packing and shipping items to a roll of stamps, this place is convenient and usually pretty quick. Compared to the postoffice service, this place is A+
