My Reply to Center Managers Answer following my original post of (5/6/17): Center Manager; I called today as requested and could not reach you. I gave my contact number to the person at the counter. Let me make it very clear how my shipment was handled by your store: The box I brought in was about 4ft tall. I brought it in because it was easier to carry it vertical. I put the box on the floor standing vertical. The woman at the store came to me and tipped it banging it to the floor. The 25lb box took a big impact. The contents in the box were in warranty. I have alerted the selling company of how it was handled at your store. Was she trying to test it or trying to show me what UPS can do? I ask again why should the woman crash it to the floor in that manner, not even thinking for a second? This is what I was referring as "rude" in my previous posting. Do you drop every box 3-4 before shipping? Okay drops can happen for the conveyor handling etc. but does not mean that you have to drop it forcefully. My problem is there was no reason for tipping the box if it was not required. I was taking care of it until I would have handed it over properly. Also the box was yet to be sealed and upon knowing that it will cost me about $3.00 to have the store seal it, I brought a packing tape and I sealed it myself. The action of tipping my investment and banging it to the floor is totally unacceptable! My original posting of 5/6/17 as follows: ----------------------------------------------------------------- I went to this UPS Vernon, CT store today (5/6/17) and dropped off a box containing a fragile item inside at 1:37PM. The woman at the counter was very rude. I actually parked my car in front of the store and first handed the UPS return label and told her that I will be bringing in a big box weighing about 25lbs. When I bring the box into the store I first put it on its small side and she immediately asks me to drop it down. I was taking my time because I had something delicate inside and did not want to damage it and was about to lay it down on its long side. She immediately comes over to me, takes the box and drops it flat on its long side with a loud thud. I was taken aback and asked her why she did that. She said any shipment should be packaged in such a manner that it should be able to sustain about 10ft drop without damage otherwise it will not make it to its destination. I showed her what is in the box and also showed her how it was packaged with fragile written all over. I could not inspect the shipment fully after the drop. I taped it, took the shipment receipt and then left. So thinking back: 1. Why would this person first drop my fragile shipment and then tell me what impacts it should sustain? She did not even take a moment to ask if there was anything fragile inside, check how it was packaged, and, I did not even start the shipment process. It was not under UPS responsibility yet. 2. Is it true that every shipment by UPS has to sustain high drops, even if FRAGILE is written all over the box? 3. The item in the box is worth $600.00. I am worried if it is already broken inside. She had no right to drop it. 4. Today’s dealing with UPS was very unpleasant and I question how safe is this UPS shipment? 5. Someone has to be liable for any damage to the contents of the box I shipped today. 6. UPS: Listen carefully. This is not the way customers are treated!

I was a sending a heavy object. I was quoted a price over the phone, after giving measurements, and was happy that the price they charged me was almost exactly the same. The staff was friendly enough, and made me feel secure that my product would be wrapped well and mailed out ASAP. Good experience!
