Lengthy but well worth reading (especially ladies). Ive been taking my Jeep to the same dealership I purchased it from 5 years ago in Wallingford for maintenance & services (wont mention their name). Several months ago, when I went for my oil change, they told me that my front brakes really needed to be replaced including the rotors. I asked if it could wait...the mechanic hesitated & then said that "maybe," it will last until my next oil change. Since I am in the process of purchasing a house, every dollar counts. My next oil change was up & I decided to call Safe Auto because lets face it, dealerships are expensive! I spoke with Ken at Safe Auto who was very nice & got me in 1st thing Saturday morning (today) per my request. I dropped off my car & about 30 minutes later, I got a call from Ken. Lets face it, I was expecting to hear what other things I needed done. To my surprise, Ken informed me that my brakes looked really good & he wasnt sure who told me I needed them but that I could go ANOTHER 15,000 miles before getting my brakes done!! He went on to say that he couldve easily replaced them, not say anything & make some money but he wouldnt feel right in doing so and wanted to be honest with me. I couldnt believe my ears! I thought, "Is this guy for real?" Its really difficult to find an honest autoshop like Safe Auto especially for individuals like myself who know very little about cars. Yes, Ken did not make as much this morning by just doing an oil change but his act of kindness, honesty and integrity just bought him a lifetime customer and recommendations to anyone looking for an honest, nice, and trustworthy individual. Ken, you are truly a needle in a haystack! A++++++++

Unbelievable! Fantastic! The best auto shop. I was traveling out of town and staying at a local hotel when my minivan had car issues. I was so stressed out by not having a car and worried about was wrong and how am I going to pay for it. I found Ken and his Safe Auto Body shop online. The name fits it perfectly. It is safe. What does safe mean? Someone taking such great care of you and your situation and Yes that is what Kenneth Gagne did for me. Ken was so incredibly kind to me. I was crying on the phone when I realized my car wasnt working. He was so calm and patient with me. He explained what was wrong and took my car that day and fixed it. Ken was so incredibly fair and reasonable with what he charged me for his labor. Before I left, I asked if I could give him a hug. I wish this auto shop was in my town. I truly would go there without any hesitation. Thank you Ken for taking such great care of me and my minivan and for keeping me safe!

I brought my car to this shop after reading all the wonderful reviews written about safe auto serve. They clearly must have been written by family members or friends because after my experience Im not sure how anyone could be satisfied with their services. My car was having trouble starting so I brought it to safe serve. They told me the problem was the battery and switched it out for a new one for about $180. Completely fair price had it been the problem. A week later the car no longer started and when I called safe serve the person I spoke to very rudely told me that the problem was most likely the starter and hesitantly told me to bring it there. Why would I continue to bring my car to a place which cant accurately tell me what the problem with my car is let alone to someone who is rude when they were the ones who were unsuccessfull in fixing the problem in the first place?

Ive had need of Ken and companys services twice now, and hope to have them to count on for many years to come. In both cases, the problem (Electrical issues and non-operative AC in the first case, worn through brake pads in the second.) was identified within a few hours. In the first instance, although his pricing is more than fair, it was a fairly hefty repair, and rather than pressuring me into anything, he gave me some time to think about how to proceed. Once Id decided to authorize the full repair job, the work was completed in an efficient and timely manner. In short, Ken is a straight-shooter, and a mechanic I trust. Id recommend him to anyone in the area.

This garage is, in my opinion, the best in Meriden. We always take our cars here when we need big work done. During my most recent visit I took my Chevy Malibu which randomly broke down with a flashing check engine light. We had no idea what the problem was and no idea how to fix it. It took them only two days to fix our problem. He worked overnight and managed to work a miracle tuning up the car, making it run again, and doing it all at a reasonable price. I had my car back way before expected, in under two days, and I am very satisfied with the results. Another job well done by Safe Auto.

SUPERB!!! There is no other place I would rather take my car for service. The boss is extremely nice, welcoming and most of all honest. Anything they fix he stands by it and for good reason. My car is an older model so it needs work more often than not and he takes good care of it. Their service is prompt, never leaving me without a car for more than a work day. Love this place & looking forward to a long standing relationship with them!

Totally outstanding! When I bring my blue van and I know I will be treated fairly and HONESTLY. The work is always on time and there are no worries because the outstanding quality. I am sure for a one time oil change or repair Safe Auto would be fine but what is even better is to trust Safe Auto with all your auto needs. Brought my van to this place for an alignment since i got new wheels and i didnt want the tires to wear out unevenly. i was charged over $250 and i was told after paying that anyway the tires will wear out unevenly because "the van is too heavy" Will never go back or recomend this place to anyone, Steer away from this "automotive" shop.

He even suggested I check elsewhere and get a written quote to compare the work and prices. Hard to find a honest mechanic, so when you do, you need to let others know. Here that is.
