In Feb 15 our oil burner started exhausting smoke and soot so I called Dynamic Mechanical. They said the issue was due to not having the boiler cleaned in 2 yrs. so they cleaned it and charged $272. The tech made a mess with sooty fingerprints and footprints but with the mess we already had it seemed like a non-issue. A bit more than a year later smoke & soot were coming out of the boiler again so I called Dyn Mech. At 11:54am (cell phone record) I got a call from the tech who said he would be there in 20 mins. where my wife was waiting. I got home at 1:45pm expecting the problem to have been identified. Instead, the boiler looked the same as when I left. The tech said he was still troubleshooting. My wife said each time she checked on him he was sitting on the floor texting. When he pulled the flue pipe off he noticed a lot of soot in the chimney. He told me that was the cause of the backup. He called his boss who told me he was surprised we didn’t have a chimney fire. I then realized I had not had the chimney cleaned in 13 yrs. but then felt the same problem was misdiagnosed a year earlier which put my family in danger of a fire. Immediately the owner told me that wasnt the case & all the soot formed within the past year. I said if that was the case then there was something wrong with the boiler but the tech found nothing. I told the owner I was a combustion engineer at P&W and didnt agree with him so he said "then fix it yourself." I then called a chimney sweep company. The tech then sat in his van while my chimney was cleaned. I asked the chimney sweep company if the soot was likely built up over 13 yrs or over the past year and they confirmed my feelings. After the chimney was cleaned I asked the Dyn Mech tech to start up my boiler. Based on cell phone logs the job was finished at 4:30pm (he arrived at 12:20pm) so it took about 4 hrs. I asked for the bill and he told me it was $638. I asked if he did anything but clean the boiler and he said no. I asked why his company charged me $272 the year before for the same work and he said he didnt know. I then asked to see an itemized invoice but he didn’t have one. I asked what time his records show he arrived and he said 11:07am. I told him my records showed he arrived at 12:20pm. I felt I was being scammed so I asked him to leave and send me an itemized bill. After he left, I called the company to understand the charges and all they did was talk over and insult me. They did offer to knock it down to $500 but I felt that was still too high so we agreed to talk the next day. Then I got a knock on the door. IT WAS THE POLICE! They called them saying I kicked the tech out of my house and would not pay my bill. I told the officer the true story and asked if I did anything wrong and he said absolutely not. I asked why they came and he said the owner demanded it. The next day I called them and said I was unhappy with how I was treated having the police called and they said that isnt important and I shouldnt focus on it. I asked how their tech could say he arrived at 11:07am when my records show he arrived at 12:20pm. They told me they were charging from when he left the company. According to Googlemaps, door to door should take 30 mins yet I was charged for 1 hour & 10 mins. I asked if they planned on reducing the charges and they said the charge was now $1,069 but they wouldnt charge transit time and reduce the rate from $110 to $85 and reduce the plugged boiler charge from $299 to $169 and reduce hrs from 7 to 5.5 (even though the tech was here 4 hrs) so with the discounts it was $648, higher than the charge the night before and higher than the $500 reduced price offered for the same service a year ago at $272! I didnt agree to pay it so they asked what I would pay and I told them $272 so they hung up on me. The next day I sent them a check for $272. I then filed a complaint with the BBB and after 3 weeks I have yet to get any answers from them.

Terrible experience! I was scheduled to have my furnace cleaned on Monday afternoon between 2-4. I was told this was the latest appointment available because the technician gets off work at 4 and they need 2 hours to clean the furnace. I called the office around 3 to see why he hadnt shown up and was told the tech put my job on hold because he got called to a commercial service call. I didnt receive a phone call to advise of this and had someone at my home waiting on him. After several phone calls, I agreed to reschedule the appointment so they didnt have to pay the tech overtime. It was rescheduled for this morning at 8. The tech showed up on time but was rude. After cleaning the furnace for the $99 special he said I needed a new part that would cost $165 and needed an answer right away. While my mother tried to reach me at work he went ahead and put the part on the furnace. The interesting part is my neighbor needed the same part just a few days ago and was told the exact same thing. I question the ethics of this company and will never use them again!

Our old steel, dry base boiler needed to be replaced and we took quotes from 4 different contractors. Dynamic Mechanical was by far the most professional and thorough in the quote process. Nathan showed up right on time and took measurements of the whole house (no one else did that) and also measured all the windows, etc to determine what type of system would suit our needs. Of all the systems offered, we chose a very efficient 3-pass, low-mass system and Dynamic Mechanical came in under the other bids and started a day before anyone else could. Needless to say, when its January and its single digits, you need fast service. Dynamic Mechanical delivered just that. Nathans crew was top-notch, they were very friendly and worked hard and always communicated with me as to what was happening. I couldnt be happier and will continue to use Dynamic Mechanical for all of our HVAC needs. Nathans company is in a word...awesome. Look no further, these are the guys you want.

It was a hot day in July --as a matter of fact it was the 4th of July weekend, and the compressor on our central A/C gave out. I called Dynamic Mechanical and to my utter surprise and delight they sent someone out on this holiday weekend who quickly diagnosed the problem....AND by the way they had the right part on the truck to install! This wasnt some little $2.75 valve and so we didnt have to order the part, wait for it to arrive and then schedule installation. A happy result! Kudos to Josh and his team.
