Let me start with I work in the bridal beauty industry and know that the hair style I asked for is an extremely easy and frequently requested service. Unfortunately that was not the case. I booked an appointment with Amy for a special occasion updo last Friday. I was a bridesmaid in my brothers wedding and coming in from out of state so I was short on time and needed something easy. I came in having had a blowout the night before with intentions on getting a very basic half up half down hair styling. Having my hair already blown out should have made it even easier but Amy was having a hard time getting my hair to keep a curl and eventually gave up and moved on to loosely pinning my hair up. At some point she asked for my opinion and I told her that the back looked great but she needed to fix the top, in specific the height and the wispy pieces. She tried and struggled and eventually preceded to take out the elastic and pins and told me she wasnt sure what else she could do?... that my hair was too heavy? At that point I had already been there close to an hour and was getting extremely close to being late. All of the curls that she attempted to do had fallen out and my hair was in the exact same part that I came in with. I did not look ANY different other than now being a frizzy frantic mess. After realizing that there was nothing else that Amy was going to attempt to rectify my hair, I got up and cashed out. I couldnt believe they actually charged me for a full updo when I literally didnt look any different than when I walked in the door. My hair wasnt even curled!! I left the salon in tears and instead of asking what else they could do to help fix it, the owner offered me a glass of wine!! I am blown away that the owner could let someone leave their establishment visibly upset and offer them alcohol instead of a solution. I have worked in several salons and can tell you that that would NEVER happen. If a junior stylist was having trouble than someone with more experience will step in and help out. They dont just shrug it off. It is not my responsibility as a paying client to seek out help for my stylist who is clearly incompetent. My husband has called twice and his call has not been returned. I may not live in the area but I made sure everyone at the 200+ wedding up the street knew exactly where I went to have my hair done that day.

The shop clearly has a sign that states "Walk-ins Welcome" So I walked in to get a TRIM. JUST A TRIM. I had seen one of the girls reading a magazine, while the other was finishing up a male client. The girl that was reading the magazine told me i needed to let her know at least 30 minutes before hand to get any service, and that she had a client coming in in 10-20 minutes....i didnt mind who cut my hair, or even waiting for the male client to be done so she could cut my hair, but i felt pushed out and that because it was just a trim, they didnt want to waste their precious time. seriously... 2 girls, one client. but no time for a trim... pathetic. i will never ever go back or tell any of my friends.... instead i will pass on the poor customer service i received and take my business else where.

I have been to Headdress Beauty Lounge three times now. I usually get color, highlights, and a cut and blow dry. I was a little nervous at first when I went to Headdress because I had been with my previous stylist for many years. I have been really pleased with Lexies professionalism, patience, and skill. I asked Lexie a lot of questions about her experience and was pleased to learn that she trained at Paul Mitchell in North Haven and worked previously at an Aveda Spa Salon in West Hartford. I like to change my styles a lot and so far Lexie has understood my intentions, offered her advise, which I appreciate, and in the end I have always been really happy with the results.

Loving my experiences at Headdress. The stylists are the utmost professionals, and extremely skilled. Renee uniquely custom colored my hair with Davines products... which I am loving, and its by far the best cut Ive ever had (and Im very curly!). I also had a Blow-out with Sarah a couple weeks ago before a dinner party and it lasted beautifully all weekend. Cant wait to have that done again. Its such a serene beautiful salon and the staff is caring and authentic. They by far are the most skilled in our area. Highly Recommend!

Amy always does a fantastic job on my hair. She takes my visions and turns them into reality! Not only is she amazing, but the salon itself is a breath of fresh air. When I walk into Headdress Beauty Lounge, all of my cares seem to fade away. It is such a relaxing atmosphere, I wish i didnt have to wait 4 weeks to go back in! I highly recommend this Salon if you are looking in the area, and I especially recommend Amy as a hairdresser (although they are all fantastic). I promise you will not be disappointed!
