My sister signed up in January- it was such a great deal to add someone to her membership, that we added my dad as well. Jose, the store manager was friendly and spent a lot of time with us. They had been wanting to commit to a regular work-out program, so they both signed up with Marshall, one of the Trainers- who has been awesome! The gym is CLEAN- and someone is constantly wiping down the equipment (not relying on members). A bonus is the sauna and the pool- plus the classes (all included). I have been able to go with the free passes included when one signs up- , and I too love it! We looked at several gyms and are so happy that we decided on this one. One of the gyms wanted our driver licenses just so that they could give us a tour. I felt very uncomfortable with this, especially in this time of identity theft- plus one gets charged an "annual maintenance fee" for "equipment repairs: It is an adult gym- not a loud "nightclub" like atmosphere. All of their equipment is up to date and in working order (some gyms might be a little cheaper, but half their equipment is broken). Comparatively though, LA is in line with their monthly cost and EVERYTHING is included (except the trainers). My sister is moving to grad school, and since LA FITNESS is a national company, her membership will travel with her. Our family has been so pleased with LA FITNESS in Stratford, that I too plan to join. Jose and his team are always available to assist them in any way. They feel like family! The real benefit is that because it has been such a great experience, my family has stuck with their fitness program, which has really contributed to their overall health and wellness. Thank you to Jose, Marshall, and Jerry for helping them to achieve their personal wellness goals.

Huge disappointment. Gym is large and clean, and has much equipment, but the only goal appears to be to get you to sign up for ($$$) training sessions, and you will be harassed for this. Simple requests to manager go unanswered, LA Fitness infomercial is the only thing playing on large monitors in exercise area, soft rock plays softly, no water fountain in weight area, and all the weight plates and dumbbells are octagonal (they will not roll). Gym opened 12/8, and still has no functioning pool. The smallish stretching area is cordoned off for trainer use, and you have to walk half a mile from the door to the locker rooms. Very little natural light, and what there is is allocated to membership desks. Social media presence is there but not interactive (you cannot post); thus this negative review. Dont waste your time or money, as they only want nongym people. Much like Crunch, these franchise operations think that one size fits all, and the hordes will just come and pay. Not likely.

This gym is a joke and scam. I went there to inquire because a friend of mine temporarily worked there and was excited about his first out of college job. Long story short Jose the "manager" there put me in the system WITHOUT my authorization and were stealing money for months !!. I called for months and months and it wasnt until recently that I was able to get out of this system with a full refund. All they care about is money and people who dont go to the gym. Go to the EDGE. They are cheeper. They care about there customers and they dont take advantage of you. The gym there is well maintained. The staff there is nice. The staff at LA fitness SUCKS And after my experience with them I wish I could give them a lower rating.

DONT EVER GO HERE! This gym looks nice, theyre nice when they want you to sign up, they are willing to give you what you want to sign up. I tried cancelling 3x and they didnt cancel any of the times that I tried. I moved out of state and they gave me a hard time by saying that I HAVE to come in to cancel (basically knowing that since I moved I cant come in to cancel) and continued to charge my account even when I did their mail in cancelation option. If you want to go to the gym, dont go here. I like the Edge better (some locations are better than others) but they didnt give me a hard time when I wanted to cancel. All I had to do was send in an email and I got a confirmation within a few days of my cancelation. LA SUCKS!

I was very disappointed with how this experience with this gym turned out. Worst manager ever skating on his hover roller while talking to you. I have been a member for a month and didnt get a key tag and each time I come to the gym I have to provide my phone number , so I went to ask for one and staff keep tell me we ll get them next week so I went to the manager and he said we dont have em meanwhile I saw them on his desk , so I told him here you have then he told me that for special people okaay really !!!!! This is not a manager customer skills It is all about get u to sign up

WISH I CAN GIVE A LESS RATING!! WORST LA FITNESS 2016!!!! Today I gave my friend a 3 day workout pass, and they tried making him pay $15 and then $70!! He said no and walked away and then while we were trying to figure out plans Dylan a worker there yelling at us saying "stop clowning around and come over here" again trying to force him to sign up we declined again. We asked for our guest pass back he didnt want to give it to us until one of his workers told him!!! WORST EMPLOYEES IVE SEEN!!!! Dylan I hope youre reading this and get fired!! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO TO TRUMBULL

Huge disappointment, it was the first time I ever sign up with a club and I was taken to the cleaners. Please do your homework before signing up for personal training sessions, it’s a big scam. Google "LA Fitness scam" and you will read the horror stories. Do not give them your financial info, you will regret it if you do. The vultures at the front desk get paid hefty commissions to sign up walk in suckers (me included). Finally I was able to get a release from all agreements with LA Fitness. Buyer beware, dont let the fake facade fool you. .

Very poorly maintained. Only the manager can put a new battery in a clock or order anything to be fixed. The staff can only leave her notes. She was out of the gym for a few days and there has been no hot water in the womens locker room for 5 days. Since the manager was out, there was nobody reposoble for having it fixed. There wasnt even a sign notifying anyone that there was no hot water. A little late when you turn on the water and discover it yourself. Extremely poor management. Thats why it is empty with cases of 4-8 people.

I didnt join La Fitness in Stratford CT and will tell you why. When I first came to inquire about the price and classes, I was given a tour and was asked to join. I liked the place but decided to look around other gyms in the town. In a week or so, the guy from La Fitness called me back with a better offer. Very talkative and friendly. But the minute he found out that I am not interested, he just hung up on me, in the middle of my sentence. How rude! At least wait a second and politely say good bye. Good Bye LaFitness.
