Legit this place is pathetic in how they do things. I mean, I went in for nothing but a wheel balancing and thats it. That was fine and good, until it came time to pay and then they went over my "complimentary inspection with me" which supposedly totalled thousands of dollars in repairs. Now Id love to know how a car that only had 1 week out of the dealership would need thousands of dollars of repairs, especially considering that it was a 1 owner car with 0 accidents and was constantly dealer maintained (I only had the wheels balanced due to needing new snow tires) Now just to be sure, I had a mechanic with me when purchasing the car that inspected the car in and out and the only problems (if you wanna call them that) are faulty hydraulic arms on the hood and trunk of the car, which pep boys somehow missed during their "inspection" and a few paint scratches, one of which was my fault. Now how pep boys determined that my valve cover gasket was leaking, even though my car hasnt leaked a single drop of oil since I got it (I monitor this weekly) is beyond me. How they somehow figured it would be $519 to replace as it was a "3 hour job " is also beyond me, as Ive done this job before with a friend in less than an hour, and neither of us are professional mechanics. So basically, if you wanna come here to have a job done, youre better off going elsewhere. If you dont have a choice, then fine, because my wheels ultimately were balanced properly, but seriously, what a pathetic way to try and get business, especially if somebody believes their crap. First time going there, and also the last, unless I need to purchase tools or tires and just do the work myself.

If I can give this place zero stars I would!! The service department sub standard service. Basically I came in here for an oil change and it was supposed to be just that. A couple of weeks later Im getting smoke from under my hood I was not notified that I needed to get a valve cover gasket replaced. So after my engine is smoking I come to Pep Boys and they tell me yes I need to replace this part and its gonna cost me $500. They are trying to offer me a discount off of the price but that isnt good enough I feel that the service department has failed me in giving me the recommended information at the right time so I can correct the action in the moment. Being that I was not notified at the time. The problem has gotten worse I have never had a problem getting a simple oil change at a major maintenance store. If you want better business and not feel like youre being ripped off or not seeing that you were viewed as a dollar bill then I would go somewhere else because good customer service doesnt exist here its all about the money. They definitely lost a long time customer. I have never had this kind of mistreatment. And to boot I needed this vehicle done at 12:30 PM mind you I had a 8 oclock appointment this shouldve been a simple fix here it is almost 2:00 PM and Im still in the store waiting… So much for completing something in a timely manner and making an appointment.

My check engine light came on. The dealer wanted $120 to diagnose. Another chain did the diagnosis at no charge only because I was spending $800 on tires. Their estimated repair was 8-12 hundred dollars. I went to Pep Boys where they did a free analysis without a wait. They said it would probably be less than $250 if no other problems were found and suggested I use an OEM part which they did not stock. They gave me the part # and I bought it on line for less than 1/3 of the cost from the dealer. I took the car back to Pep Boys and they made the repair quickly and at just over $100! They spent time to look the car over and gave me a complete explanation of other work I should consider at a later time and a detailed estimate. The service people were outstanding. They did not give me the hard sell, and they were technically the best I have dealt with. Paul was amazing and the mechanic even came and explained what he had done. These guys are the best. Give them a try!

Arrgh. They recommend front end work on my truck. Had the need confirmed by another shop, so I agreed to them doing the work. Gave them time to order parts. Before bringing it in. I was told it would be a 1 day job. It turned into 3 days. Very non-communicative on what was going on or when it could be done. They also added $700.00 to the work done without getting authorization. They did lower the final bill about 1/3 below original quote and ate the $700.00 unauthorized work. Still very angry on how they treated us. Will never do business with them again.

Brought my car in for new tires. Had to have it towed out due to a cracked intake manifold. Brought it to my trusted auto shop, Copeland Auto. Turned out the Mass Air Sensor was jarred. They cleaned it, properly installed it, and all was good. EDIT: The regional manager of Pep Boys quickly and professionally rectified the issue. Im increasing my review to 3 stars because dealing with this still needlessly consumed many hours of my life. But I am overall pleased with how management dealt with this issue.

The guy, I think his name is Will (not good on remembering names), he always wears a white shirt every time I see him. Yeah but, he looks like an older version of Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) from the Avengers movie. Anyway, he is very helpful and really nice. He will explain the expenses and where they came from and not say oh heres your bill like some other people there. >.> So now I only go there when he works! :)

Just thought I should put in my two cents. Not everyone is perfect. There are good days there are off days. But at Pep Boys they strive to make the days good more then not. I personally have not had an issue with the customer service since I started going to Pep Boys. They do a fantastic job and accommodate you where they can. However they are a busy place because they do such a good job. Keep up the good work.

Went in for oil change and to get my ac charged. They did their complimentary service check. My Jeep is maintained. They said I had $2100 of work to be done. And my condenser was shot wont hold a charge. Well my AC still works its been almost 2 months. But now Im missing a bolt in my pulley system and my muffler has a hole in it now. They break your stuff to make you comeback.

I wouldnt go anywhere else to have my vehicle serviced/worked on! The customer service is excellent. The guys in the shop are professional and courteous. They greet you with a smile and handshake and are very respectful of what your needs are for that visit. They are also great with offering return appointments and making sure Im taken care of. Two thumbs up!

Dont bother making an online appointment for state emissions testing, they dont honor them, and after waiting 45 minutes they werent able to test my vehicle. Id highly recommend going elsewhere for your testing as youd have much better luck if youre under any kind of time crunch.
