To Meineke on main st Ansonia Ct, on 7/1/2016 at 2pm my wife and i were in your Ansonia location for a set of new tires on her Ford Focus which half way through the procedure i decided to go home feeling she had everything under control,she called me a while later saying the mechanic/sales person informed her that she needs new brakes because her rotors were all chewed up which is untrue for i have had the tires off already and inspected them myself,when he could not sell her on a $300 brake job he moved into the engine compartment telling her she needed a tune up because the engine was vibrating and also told her the engine was misfiring and getting hot which is also untrue.The vibration is from worn out motor mounts that i already purchased and plan to install myself any knowledgable mechanic would have known this and after she told him this he proceded to tell her the parts i bought were junk and he was suprised that her motor did not blow yet at this point he continued to pressure her into making a appointment for a tune up and she would get a discount if she made the appointment at that time which again she had to say no my husband will take care of it and all of this was without road testing the car, the estimate for front brakes and a tune up was over $900 on top of the $500+ dollars she already spent on the tires,I am very angry at what went on there today your employees should not be using scare tactics on women to generate buisness and furthermore i feel they waited until i was gone to begin their upsell,this is bad buisness practice and we will not be returing to your place of buiseness for future car repairs,Best Regards, The One That Got Away.By the way this place is so bad that im sure the few positive reviews are from friends or family of the workers do not bring your vehicle there go to General Muffler just up the street.

I had to get part of my exhaust system fixed because it was literally falling out of my car, and my regular mechanic doesnt do exhaust systems. I made an appointment online (which was super easy), and when I went in to the shop the manager, Tony, was surprisingly pleasant. As a girl, going into a mechanic is usually something I dread, because I always feel like I am getting ripped off and taken advantage of, but for once, I felt completely comfortable that I was actually only getting the service I needed. He could have easily told me that a bunch of other things needed to be replaced, and I never would have known the difference (my car looked REALLY bad to me), but he didnt. He really seemed like he was doing his best to replace as little as possible. He was able to give me an estimate for my car within 20 minutes, and my car was ready the next day. He let me know of other repairs I would need in the near future, but wasnt pushy that any of them be done right this moment. I will definitely be returning to them in the future, and I would recommend them to anyone in the area who needs a good mechanic.

If I could rate them a 0 I would. I called to make an appointment. They said sure 130. I go in at 130 and they tell me I have to wait an hour before they can take my car in because a walk in took my place. Wtf! He didnt even say sorry. Id rather wait some where else for my business. Its sad because Im new to the area. Could have a frequent customer. Horrible customer service!

The team lead was super friendly and the team lead ( I forgot his name unfortunately) was super knowledgable. He was able to explain the problem to me with great detail and offer a fair price. Even my boyfriend said that the shop was fair and did a good job at diagnosing the problem with my car. I never felt that they tried to sell me "extra".

Manager Jay & staff were great and very knowledgeable and helpful took the time to do a total review of my vehicle and not to go over just the bad stuff but what looks great and what not to worry about... Awesome for a female I found out that I over paid by hundreds of dollars going to the dealership...

Great service, pricing is very fair. Work was completed as described in a timely manner. All technicians were very courteous. Jason runs a good shop. Would highly recommend this Meineke Center to my friends.
