After finding this salon online, I went in to get my hair and makeup done for my wedding. I went in for the trial run about a month before and had excellent service. The technicians were professional and both my hair and makeup look great! The problem came when it was time to pay - the Wedding Packages brochure states that their Bridal Package includes wedding day hair and makeup and a trial run about a month before all for $115. I had called up to confirm the prices since they seemed waaay better than anywhere else and it sounded great. As I went to pay, I was told that I had to pay $115 for each visit. I was surprised and showed the woman at the front desk the brochure, but she insisted that I had to pay double what I had been quoted ($115 for the trial and $115 for the wedding day). I ended up paying, but I was really bothered about it. I called up later that day and when speaking to the manager, found her to be completely unreasonable. She offered to give me 15% off for the next visit. That didnt work for me, since I was going to be charged 100% more than they had originally said. She did not stand by what her brochure said and did not understand when I tried to explain to her multiple times that I was misled twice - even when I called to confirm! I know that business owners have to at least pay their employees and I would have been willing to pay the technicians for their time. But at the same time, they had engaged in false advertising and were unreasonable and rude when asked to stand by their own pricing. I ended up having to refuse the charges on my credit card and cancel the appointment for my wedding day. I am really upset because I love the work they did, but they misrepresented their products and costs and I cannot work with a business that does that.

I rarely get my hair done. I have very course, curly, frizzy hair that is hard to work with. I wanted to color my hair, but I was very scared of how it would turn out with all the salon horror stories. I was five minutes late to a salon in Maryland and was turned down for services, told to reschedule. I have never, ever had anything done at a salon other than a cut, I am almost 30 years old. I decided to try Elayne James Studio. This was the best decision I made and I am happy to say I am overly satisfied with this studio. If you follow their directions on products for your hair and how to maintain, you will get amazing results. Not only do I love how my hair looks after treatment, the facility is very clean. The girls that work their are also very sweet and always welcome me when I come in. I would recommend this salon to anyone who has unmanageable hair, and who is scared of a first time salon visit. I will be returning to this salon and making it my home. Thank you Elayne James!

Stay away from this salon!!!! I purposely requested a Level 4 Stylist, since my hair can be very difficult to manage and I like it a certain way. When I arrived for my appointment I was not given this stylist. There was no explanation or notification of this. I assumed she was still Level 4, since that was what I requested, but come to find out she was "New Talent". I did not find this out until after she started cutting my hair. I asked for a few inches off the length with a long layer, but instead was given a very choppy and uneven hair cut. There are MANY lengths and layers, none of it is even. She then told me she didnt have time to flat iron it, Im assuming because she knew how bad it looked and didnt want to make it more obvious. It looks HORRIBLE. I will now be spending more money to go elsewhere and have it fixed. Elayne James is a joke!!

Very nice salon, looks nice inside and out. It was my first visit to the salon . I saw the salons social media site and that is what caused me to want to try out this place. I decided to go to Leah for a platnium blonde root touchup. Leah and her assistant Rachael were great. They were very kind and patient with me. They did everything they could to get my hair how I wanted it. Everyone in the salon was friendly. As far as prices ,you are getting what you paid for. I will definitely be returning back to the salon to get my hair done by Leah!!

Cant even give a review of the services because I literally waited for an hour past my apt time and ended up having to walk out! It would be bad enough if I was just getting a cut, but I was getting my hair done for a charity ball and had no time to go to a different salon. I was really upset. Would never go back or recommend that anyone else go. They had my cell phone number, at the very least they could have called and given me a heads up so I didnt waste an hour there for nothing

I have been going to Elayne James for approx 9 year now and I have never left without absolutely loving my services. I go just about every 6-8 weeks and usually change everything about my hair each time (different color, new cut, etc) I get compliments on my hair all the time (and no, I am not one of the lucky few with just great hair). I would def recommend it to all my friends and family, as a matter of fact...most of my friends that live semi local do go to Elayne James

Elayne James salon and spa is by far the best salon that I have gone to. From the time I walk in and Im greeted, and I am being asked if I would like any refreshment and an informed of product knowledge and special. When I am a guest at this salon I feel at home but most importantly am satisfied that my beauty goals are in the hands of educated but most importantly well rounded professional. I have a shorter haircut in general and I wanted bangs. I brought a photo of a CUTE haircut with bangs to show my hair stylist and what she gave me looks nothing like the photo. She gave me a hiedous bowl cut. I also told her I was trying to grow my hair out, so she said she wasnt going to layer it as much. Just texture it. She put uneven choppy DEEP layers all around!! Extremely unhappy. I left the salon in tears. I do not recommend this place at all!!!
