The best decision that we made on our way to the altar was choosing Christina Baxter of CiBi Events as our wedding coordinator. Our wedding day on 5/31/13 in Charleston, SC was truly the most enjoyable & memorable day of our lives. Christina worked with us to plan an event that was elegant, exquisitely produced and within our budget. With Christina’s expert advice, we were able to create an event that exceeded our highest expectations & that our guests have told us they will remember for a lifetime. Planning a destination wedding from Chicago had the potential to be chaotic and stressful, especially given our limited availability to discuss wedding plans & the pressure that we felt to make it worth the trip for all of our guests. Having only spoken with Christina over the phone before choosing her as our planner, we admittedly said on numerous occasions that we were putting a lot of faith in someone that we didn’t know. We figured it could all go one of two ways: terribly or very well. What we didn’t consider was the third option: perfectly. Christina worked with us to create a wedding that truly reflected our unique personalities. From designing the reception layout to negotiating with the all of the vendors, Christina was able to create a custom experience while keeping us within our budget. Most importantly, Christina proactively handled unexpected roadblocks without adding undue stress for the bride & groom. While Christina can provide you with an all-encompassing list of items that her planning services will include, her most valuable and priceless attributes are those not listed. She will calm your nerves & your parents’ nerves with her organization and professionalism & she will be the last one there at the end of the night making sure that everything is taken care of after the party is over. Simply put, CiBi Events adds value every step of the way. Since our wedding day we have remarked over & over that we struck gold the day we met Christina.

Christina is a full-service wedding planner so we hired her just a couple weeks after we got engaged. Were glad we did because she found our perfect wedding venue. We wanted a spot in the DC area that fit 300 people but also felt personal, beautiful and rustic. In her research she landed on Shadow Creek, a new barn that was just being built and designed to host weddings. We never would have found it on our own. Over the year leading up to our wedding, we had regular calls with Christina and her assistant planner. They helped keep us on track and manage all details. For example, she found two caterers for us to try and flew into town to visit those caterers with us to help us make a decision. We were blown away by one, Savoir Faire, which we ultimately selected. As the wedding got closer, we had weekly calls with Christina to go through the flow of the day to make sure all the details were nailed down. By the time the wedding day arrived, Christina knew exactly what we wanted and we trusted her completely to execute it. Thats where she really earned every dollar. On the Friday before our wedding, we passed off all responsibility to Christina and we didnt worry about a single thing after. She took the reigns and executed our vision beautifully. She coordinated with the florist, caterer and venue host and everything looked stunning. Christina is particularly talented with details -- such as placement of flowers on chairs, the arrangement of the escort cards and welcome signs. She also kept my (now) husband and I on track throughout the night so the activities flowed well and we got to do everything we wanted. All of my friends who have gotten married told us in advance of our wedding that lots of things were bound to go wrong so we would just need to be flexible and go with the flow. But absolutely nothing went wrong at our wedding. We just enjoyed the night and everything worked out exactly as we wanted it to because of Christina. We highly recommend her!!

We cannot say enough nice things about working with Christina and her wonderful assistant Dana. They were involved in all aspects of our wedding, making sure we reached out to each vendor at the right time, handling paperwork, and anticipating potential challenges before they became a problem. Wedding planning is stressful. It feels like there are a million things to do AT ALL TIMES. You want someone who is calm, has a ton of experience, and knows just about every vendor in town. Like many couples, we had a vision for our wedding, but we relied heavily on Christina and Dana to navigate the seemingly endless details that needed to be addressed to realize that vision. Both Christina and Dana displayed endless patience helping us realize that vision, always accommodating our last minute waffling and change of heart. When we were freaking out about a particular aspect of the wedding – or more accurately a million important decisions – they would schedule a call immediately and give us two hours of their undivided attention if we needed it! While they are undoubtedly great at their job, Christina and Dana are also exceptionally nice people. Which is important to consider because you will spend A LOT of time with your wedding planners. When it was all said and done, Christina and Dana helped us pull off an amazing wedding and really stayed true to our wishes and vision for the wedding, which was especially important to us. And while we certainly don’t miss the stress associated with wedding planning, we do miss spending time with both of them!!! Dream team!

I decided to hire a wedding planner because I dont live in DC, and I worked a full-time, stressful job, so I couldnt spend hours and hours reading about every caterer, visiting a ton of venues, taste testing multiple bakeries, etc. I am SO incredibly glad I found Christina! She was incredibly nice and easy to work with from Day 1. Shes very responsive and easy to get a hold of. She has tons of experience with different venues, bands, and vendors, so she could suggest a couple that she thought were great without me doing any leg work, and they always were fantastic! We used a caterer she suggested for our day-after-brunch also, and it was some of the best food Ive had at a party, ever! Now my mom is using them for my brothers wedding too! She really listened to what I wanted and made our wedding day not only exactly what we hoped for (and more!), but it went off without a hitch and without my fiance or I worrying about anything! She really went above and beyond, to the point where two days before the wedding we had a bit of a welcome-gift crisis, and instead of letting me reschedule my mani/pedi to deal with it, she ran all the errands and sat at my parents house assembling gifts until they were done! She would lend helpful advice but never tried to talk me out of anything or change my mind, and she really advocated for me when a vendor was being difficult or tried to change the plan. I cant say enough good things! I swear, on the big day I was the calmest bride on the planet, thanks to Christina!
