About the cost is true. (Never clear by phone) I was in person, when I asked for family plan the lady from desk super nice with the information but when I WAS MORE SPECIFIC FOR ANY HELP FOR DC recidentes and lower income working class, she changed 100% .... I need call this # and the waiting list is super long. ..realistic not hope , not nice any more ..this is "charitie place" or private country club 1.the person how take care the Subsidy program never answers the call,or email. And was dorp off all my information and requirements with the application they never call me or email. In conclusion I am paid all full the fees for family plan plus more $300,one time after that I pays every month $113.15 only for me and my son the fanny thing show in my credit card statement charities.?? My question this place really is for working family or what?? Realist is not a lot for fews for other is a lot plus why they offers help ???in subsidy ..

Friendly front desk staff but theyre all about sales. They asked what I needed when I arrived, I said I was there for membership info and they in turn asked if I wanted a tour, to which I said, no, just rates. They asked me to wait while they finished up with a customer. I waited until it was my turn only to be pushed to sign up for a tour again. And once more I declined, saying I only wanted to know rates. The female staff member replied that they only give rates during tours and, "when would be a good time for you to come back for a tour? We have a lovely facility." You made me wait to tell me that? Its like Im talking to a wall, or in this case a saleswoman with her own agenda. I dont need to know about all the wonderful equipment you have that Im not going to use when all I want to know is how much it would cost me to use the pool. No thanks.

This Y is beautiful and has everything- sauna, hot tub, climbing wall, state of the art equipment, yoga classes, spin classes, body pump, kick boxing, culinary classes, etc. Literally everything. Its a beautiful building with a lot to offer. Further, this was named after Anthony Bowen, an African American man who wanted to create a place for low-income folks and people of color to have access to healthy living services. Low in behold, I came to find out the the gym is $91 per month (not including the joining fee). I would love to go here, but it is NOT realistic for many folks to go here in terms of budget. Super disappointed in the YMCA, as it claims itself to be a non-profit.

I was excited to join the "Y" as I was a prior member in a location in PA. I called multiple times just to find out what their membership rates were. The person on the phone informed us that we had to come in for a tour first. We didnt live in the area at the time and could not do this. When we tried to explain this, the man refused to inform us of the fees. So I tried to pull it out of him by throwing some numbers, 70, 100, 150???!! He insisted that we would be supporting the community with our membership and began to argue with me on this. Im not going to support my community through an organization that does not disclose their costs. Thanks.

One of the most expensive gyms in the area, even though it is a "non-profit". The financial assistance had a five month long wait, and makes the gym extremely inaccessible for individuals in the neighborhood. Comparatively, Vida and Washington Sports Club are both cheaper. Even more concerning, instead of offering New Years deals like most clubs, the Y chose to increase their membership fee by $10, making it over $100 a month for a monthly membership when you add taxes. Staff is friendly and helpful, but the price is inexcusable. Gentrification at its finest.

Although the facility is wonderful, A+, I cant say the same thing for the front desk staff. The front desk is always filled with people who seem to only know how to scan member IDs. Not one question I have asked them as been answered to my satisfaction. For example, I called to ask about the availability of a weekend course (that requires sign up) considering that it is already Thursday, I figured folks should know if a class will occur or not on the weekend. I got a I dont know. YMCA needs to train staff on how to resolve issues instead of saying "I dont know."

Great, well managed urban Y I remember when they tore down the old one and created this space as a flagship to hold down the condos and the sprawl of 14th St They did so in the nick of time! Pleasant staff, pool, weights, classes, plenty of amenities including a sauna I am blessed I get to come here Out of town Y members: The AWAY deal here is less generous than in other urban settings Its $10 a visit Well worth it Perhaps as they get more established they can afford to be more generous

I havent been there yet. It looks really nice and is convenient for me, but the hassle I experienced trying to navigate their convoluted site and speaking to multiple reps who kept giving me half ass info about the cost classes etc, was enough to turn me off

Started coming here recently and love it. Nice concept and compared with other gyms in the area it is reasonably priced.
