Their class lineup and customer service is now horrendous. I have been a member of this gym on and off since it first opened around 2008 and have seen my share of good and bad instructors. To date, however, at least 5 out of 7 days are now tainted by instructors of poor personal fitness, limited skill and who demonstrate little effort or planning. A class instructor is supposed to not only inspire by their physical appearance and energy but also be capable of physically activity themselves. I had a class today where the instructor literally could not lift her legs beyond perhaps a 20 degree angle while using a step. Im not talking injured. I speaking of the ravages of age. All of us, save 2, walked out of the class within the first 30 minutes. A WSC representative vetted her and found her appropriate to teach what were once several popular, challenging classes, thus showing a complete disregard for membership. Dont get me wrong, someone can still be an excellent instructor and not have a 6-pack, but when you can hardly move, or are medically overweight (or arguably obese), or easily exhausted such that you keep giving the class breaks because you are fatigued although the paying members are hardly challenged, that is unacceptable. Furthermore, WSC has the arguably fraudulent practice of misrepresenting class times on official schedules. A couple of the morning classes are marketed to potential members as 60 minute classes. They are not and once there the instructors will tell you its 45 minutes and they have always been 45 minutes. Initially I thought this was a mistake or that there was some difficulty in changing the online schedule at will. But I have brought this to managements and the instructors attention several times over the course of my membership and have seen other classes added and altered with ease. One can only presume that now having been made aware of the false representation, WSC has allowed it to remain as means of enticing additional suckers...sorry, members. After waiting for over 15 minutes, I spoke with management today. Steve. I can at best describe him as indifferent and quick to pass the buck claiming that the class lineup was not "their fault" and that some lady at a higher office sends them instructors without their input. But as a WSC manager it IS your fault. My money goes to WSC. The inner inadequate workings of your system are not my concern. Instead I was asked to bear with the horrific instructor lineup for "another month" as they adjust classes based on demand. Will I get a refund for that month? No. Have they kept rubbish instructors over a period of months? Yep. If youre just in it for use of a treadmill and some weights, have at it. But if you actually want to do useful, challenging classes you may be sorely disappointed. I will say that Glori, Delvin, Catherine, Alison and a few other instructors are excellent. But because they are the few shining stars, their classes tend to be full and members are at times turned away. Maybe cut your profits a little bit and instead of trying to enlist all of Washington DC, invest in more QUALITY INSTRUCTORS and better customer service. No one should be sub par. P.S. Fit360, SolidCore, Elevate, VIDA, etc. are all other options. Sometimes its worth it to pay a bit more and get worthwhile service and results instead of wasting your money.

NOW I HAVE SOMETHING NEW AND I DONT LIKE THIS. YESTERDAY I CAME TO THE CLUB TO WORK OUT, WHEN AT THE FRONT DESK. THE CLERK SAID I HAD A BALANCE AND A LATE FEE CHARGE AND CAN NOT USE THE CLUB UNTIL EVERYTHING WAS PAID. I SAID. I HAVE BEEN PAYING EVERY MONTH BECAUSE THEY DEBIT THE MONEY FROM MY CREDIT CARD AND HE SAID WELL YOU HAVE A LATE FEE AND A BALANCE, YOU CAN NOT USE THE GYM TODAY TRYING TO BE POLITE I ASKED HIM IF HE CHECKED CORRECTLY BECAUSE JUST DAY BEFORE I ASKED AT THE GYM ON SILVER SPRING TO CHANGE MY FEE AND THE MANAGER SAID AND E MAIL WAS SENT AND JUST WAIT, BUT THEY HAVE ALREADY CHARGED TO MY CREDIT CARD THE FIRST BUSINESS DAY OF JANUARY, I EXPLAINED IT TO HIM AND HE INSISTED WITH NASTY ATTITUDE , AND HE SAID. WHENEVER YOU TALK TO THE MANAGER ASK HER TO CALL ME MY NAME IS AUSTIN, AND GIVE ME A SMILE. At the end my friends refused to used the gym and we went to Silver Spring, and used it. I spoke with the manager and she said there was no reason because everything was ok. AUSTIN. remember your 12 dollars/hour salary is paid with the money we pay to use to gym be more professional and if you dont need to be professional because the poor salary, find something else I have been coming to the club for the past 3 months, and every time I come to take a shower, around 4pm. the area is completely unattended, you can see trash, dirty towels on the floor, and the shower stalls look so dirty that you think twice if safe to shower. Then yesterday I used the sauna for just 3 minutes, Please, somebody needs to come inside and check under the benches, there is dust and trash for weeks, looking at the corners where the tile gets with the wall please, its so dirty and disgusting to be there. with the money we pay can the afford a cleaning person who really cares? If you dont believe just walk around or better, go the WSC onSilver Spring you smell the bleach they used to clean the showers stall every day, come into the sauna and see how clean it is. please. help us enjoy the gym but CLEA

I would post this under a proper name but I am concerned for attribution from the club or that they would do something against my friends such as: -Billing Personal Training Sessions without receipt -Signing you up for sessions, only to have the trainer delay you until your session moved into a new billing cycle and then state that they cannot give you a refund or credit for that session due to terms of service. -Sign you for 90 days of training when you have a record of 30 days only, charge you and then draw out the process until 3 months of transactions have taken place and therefore you fulfill their TOS. - The personal training is also the worst I ever had, I had a guy who had never done it, never went to school for it, and had no certs and when i tried to get a new one was denied. Not a fun experience. The gym is decent, good equipment, and if you can go when its not busy its fine, but anytime after 5pm its packed (like any other gym) and they have limited space so it fills quickly, also like any gym in a busy location. My complaints are about the management of WSC, its literally the worst experience of a gym I ever had to deal with -- they write everything in corporate speak. I was able to best them because they are also idiots, and have very little ... common sense and the management does know or understand corporate lawyer speak (thank god). I would simply avoid them, go to a gold gym where you are treated better, better classes and more gear. I also despise 12 month commitment gyms because well they are the worst when it comes to screwing you (looking at you planet fitness). I would advise you to look for locally owned gyms, or to avoid this place UNLESS you know you will use it and DO NOT take Personal Training from them.
