Used to be a decent gym for the price, but lately theyve been over selling their membership and this gym has gotten to be very "ghetto." Its extremely crowded and you cant get on machines. The restroom and changing rooms are nasty. The staff is unresponsive and pretty much "checked" out. People sit around on machines and text and talk on their phones while youre waiting to get on or they monopolize equipment they arent even using. Even had a woman threaten me when I asserted that she couldnt just claim a piece of equipment because she wanted to use it next when she wasnt using it because she was on something else. She pushed me and when I told a staff member he said there was nothing he could do about it. In fact, staff do not supervise or enforce their own policies--during peak hours, theres hardly anybody there. I get the "No judgement" thing, but frankly, some of the folks that go to this branch have no business being there. Ive been to Planet Fitness gyms in Huntington Beach, CA and the one in Rockville. Much cleaner and nicer and a better, more polite and cooperative clientele. Also, since staff are on the same floor as the workout area, more engagement from them too. Corporate needs to put more attention into this branch and listen to suggestions from patrons--like how about more Smith machines so people dont have to stand around and wait? How about more than one slant board for a whole gym? The manager is an extremely friendly and helpful person--I suspect the demise of this gym is more about a lack of attention from the owner or corporate--or both.

The front customer service staff has NO IDEA what they are doing, and why is there no supervisor on duty at al times? I came in at 9:30pm to sign up through a health insurance program, and I was told the process should be seamless, but it was not. The 2 staff members at the front at the time werent familiar with the program, were extremely nonchalant, didnt seem to care to resolve the issue, and insisted I couldnt workout tonight and needed to "come back sometime tomorrow to talk to the manager". They left for the night shortly after our conversation once another employee came to relieve them, not resolving my issue or letting the new employee know the issue at hand. It took me MAKING the employee call his manager to obtain the proper information to sign me up that the issue was resolved (which he did and the manager knew exactly what to do). All while this is going on, this employee is the only one at the desk unsuccessfully to help 7 different people with different issues. Finally got signed up an HOUR LATER. What a freaking circus. The gym is nice and clean though - which is the only reason why they didnt get just 1 star. But I wont be returning.

I canceled my account around late May. I recently found out they were still charging my card for two months and on going. I called the front desk and was told it was never canceled. Even when I physically went in to cancel the account. The front desk associate are not properly trained at all at that location. I called to speak to a manger as well i was told that no manger will be there for the day. the front desk associate was rude and aggressively hung up on me. But apparently she was able to cancel my account over the phone. when i was told you can only cancel account in person. Please, reconsider on who you hire for member representatives. Theyre are the face of that location and if not highly trained they will cause nothing but bad business. Ive made a complaint to corporate already for the lack of service.

I really feel at home here. The staff is always friendly and the facilities are very clean. Ive felt a lot better overall since I joined in June of 2015. However, I would advise anyone who is very out of shape (like me) to skip the classes. My experience was that the classes were one-size fits all and even though there are only about 5 students in each, everyone is expected to do all of the same work at the same pace, which is geared to a very high level of fitness. I havent even tried a class since my first week, and Im not interested in trying. At first I had hoped that by taking the classes I would learn more about the kinds of work I needed to be doing, but it didnt take me long to see that Id be better off reading a book and teaching myself.

There really is no competition. I was a member at Spunk fitness across the street, but I promptly cancelled my membership and started coming here. Spunk doesnt even have a friggin water fountain....you have to pay for bottled water. Im not even sure thats legal at a gym haha. Anyways, the facility here is always clean, there is more room, newer equipment, less dirty/smelly meatheads who dont wipe down equipment after use, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only complaint is that there is no free-weight bench press...only the smith machine bench press, but it gets the job done. For $10 a month, it really cant get much better. PF is one well-played business model.

Great low cost option however buyer beware!! Recently had my locker broken into and wallet stolen along with four other members. Prior to this was having a great low cost gym experience now unsure if I will continue. Suggest locking values in your car, but my gut tells me cars will be next based off the Silver Spring New Hampshire gym membership demographics. Completely Traumatized!!! How can a facility with numerous staff personnel and member going in and out of locker rooms have locker break ins?, unless well coordinated with some insider help. Again, "Caveat Emptor". BTW, Preperators still at large! Sorry Planet Fitness, public has the right to know.

Came from Spunk across the street because friends belonged here. Compared to Spunk the facility is larger, the machines seem to be newer and better maintained, and there was more variety in the machines. They also had tanning and a sauna for the premium members which was cool. (I was NOT one BTW...) Its probably the better deal in comparing the $10/mo gyms. They were a LITTLE too into the "atmosphere" thing..... I was never trying to scream like a powerlifter, but gains require a LITTLE noise.... Although Spunk subscribes to the same principal, they are a LITTLE more relaxed on it which I liked.

Great gym. First time joining one and the experience here was awesome. Moving soon so Ill definitely be keeping and taking my membership with me out to Germantown. One thing I wish was different. Every time I went (twice a week, Mondays and Fridays and even on Saturdays) ALL and I mean all the bench press machines were taken and STAYED taken. It never failed. Maybe a time limit should be set or get more machines.

I went to PF with some trepidation but attracted by the price. I travel a lot, so I didnt want to pay a lot for a gym that I maybe only get to use half the time. However, Ive really had a great experience! Staff is nice, and although a lot of people use the gym I can usually get to the right equipment to do my workout without problems. I only wish there were a squat rack and barbells...
