After reading some of the negative reviews Im dumbfounded how anyone could say anything but great things about Meineke Clearwater. Ive been going there for years and have had nothing but outstanding service. Ive been driving since I was 15 years old and since Im 79 now I guess you could say its been a while. Ive lived through the bad old days of shameful scams and deceptive pricing with automotive service stations. A woman would be guaranteed of being taken in one way or another. In addition, I have an engineering degree and worked for Cummins Diesel so I know how important it is to do proper preventive maintenance on your vehicle. In reading some of these negative comments I can see this feeling is not shared by all. For years Hank ran the business with an absentee owner and did a great job. But when the new owner, Tyler, took over you could immediately see the increased investment he put into the place. New signage, comfortable furniture in the waiting area and even a Keurig machine for free coffee while you wait in addition to equipment upgrades in the shop. He even put in a car wash facility in the back. The only real concern any of us should have with any service profession is the integrity and honesty of the provider. I can assure everyone you will never be taken or deceived by Meineke Clearwater. I have sat and listened to many, many customers over the years discussing various mechanical issues with Hank, and now Tyler, and the advice I’ve heard meets the truthfulness test. After all folks were dealing here with a very complex piece of machinery and things do happen that can never be foreseen. As you can tell from the owner’s responses to some of the criticism there are many folks out there that are dishonest, deceitful, or just plain dumb, so take their comments with a grain of salt. If there were more than a Five Stars rating I would give it.

If you got big service issues, this isnt your spot. Went here because my van kept stalling out. They replaced a vacuum hose, and found a spark plug was defective. Costed a little over $300. Week later my air pump shot out, so we presumed that was the issue. A little over $500 A week later the van in doing the exact same thing it was doing. I alerted them the fuel pump has an automatic shutoff, and will not start on occasion because of certain circumstances. Called me later that day (after telling them it was dire that my van be fixed that day because I use it for work, and with the amount of days off I would be fired), saying they cant do anything until we change the starter. Finally said leave it Ill take it somewhere else. Van started first try. I took it to a mechanic in new port richey who identified it as the fuel regulator, after doing a fuel pressure test. $300 there and it runs fine now. It could just have been me, as they have great customer service as far as being friendly.. But Im out $800. If you have a big issue go to a mechanic.

I went in for an oil change. They said my air filter was bad (no big surprise there) and also my back brakes were going out. They didnt give me a new window sticker for my next oil change. Also shortly after the oil change I lost my hub cap! I guess it was my fault for not checking to make sure they put them on tight. =/ What really is annoying is I brought my car to my brother to put on new brake pads and to my surprise the pads on there werent even half used!! So the guy there wanted to change me another $150 for something that didnt even need to be replaced! And also idk if is same company or what but the advance auto store next door is also lacking in ethics and skills. The sales associate was helping me find my brake pads and it was $15 on the PC screen than when he brought it up and rang it up it was $29!! He didnt seem to want to do anything to fix that or ask a manager about it. The sales associate was rather slow with the whole process. I would not recommended this car care center or the auto store also associated with this address.

I had the unfortunate experience of having the muffler system break and drag the ground. In a driving rain storm I chose the closest place, Meinecke on Gulf to Bay. Lucky man that I was. The gentleman on the front desk was very helpful and COURTEOUS. The truck was taken in, diagnosed and an estimate was given. The problem wasnt used for bait as I didnt become a pawn in a game. I had them add an oil change and wasnt told I needed to upgrade. The muffler was installed professionally, Yes, I looked, and an extra bracket was installed with my approval. I was out in barely over $200 only because of govt taxes. Afterwards, I asked about the negative reviews, as YES, I was appraised of them by the person giving me the address. I found they are under new management AND after a conversation, found the gentleman at the front desk is HIGHLY experienced as he has worked at some of the other local car care establishments. I HIGHLY recommend this establishment AND its NEW management!

I generally do not provide public reviews or endorsements, however the exemplary service from Tyler and his staff is warranted. My 45 year old classic required transmission service despite recently having worked with another shop that replaced the entire transmission and refused to stand behind their repair resulting in multiple return visits for rework and compete dissatisfaction. The Meinke professionals took the time to properly diagnose the trouble and identified other potential problems to consider for preventive maintenance and avoid costly repairs in the future. Meinke on Gulf to Bay - in my opinion is most courteous and knowledgeable repair shop in Clearwater. Their rates are very fair and reasonable but most important is no more wasted time returning for rework on the repairs. I can trust that Tyler and staff will do it right the first time.

BEST AUTO SERVICE IN CLEARWATER HANDS DOWN. Ive dealt with 10+ shops in the Bay Area over the past 8 years and they are without question the best. Got my brakes done here last week. The owner, Tyler, checked out my car himself and explained everything in terms that I could actually understand. The price was substantially lower than what I expected Id be paying. He gave me an awesome discount that I wasnt even aware of until I looked at my paperwork when I got home. Most owners would act like they just gave me the gift of a lifetime, but Tyler didnt seek any praise at all. Helping customers out like that must just be business as usual there. I get free oil changes from my dealer, but il be returning to Meineke from now on because I can actually trust the owner.

Rude Staff; They Do NOT follow appointment schedule. I made an appointment online three days in advance to Meineke in Clearwater. Today was the appointment, and I came in expecting that the appointment will be followed through. The staff was very rude and told me "If we could make another branch to accomodate you we would but we cant!" This was my first time coming to Meineke since T-Mobile Tuesdays was giving out the offer for oil changes. I have never felt so disgusted by customer service like that before. DO NOT schedule for an appointment if they get flooded with walk-ins and last minute appointments. Better yet go to Tires Plus. They have better service for the price.
