I just transferred to this location, perhaps my opinion will change, but I received horrible customer service the morning of 3/27. To set the stage, a coworker & I decided to start back to.the gym after a long break. We both dragged our butts out of bed at 6am to get to the gym and workout before work. I had planned to transfer my account from the Saint Pete location to the new Clearwater location as it is in the way to work. Anyhow, I get there and the young blond desk girl tells me she cant find me in the system (I had lost my card)..I tell her where my home gym is located and we wait about 20min for her to call and confirm my membership, which she does. Once confirmed I assume Im free to sign in my guest (Black membership), but she tells me "corporate policy only allows sign-ins at your home gym" - totally new (and later found to be false) info to me. I ask her if I can transfer now and she tells me, in an annoyed tone, that I have to go to my home gym (30+ min away with morning traffic) to transfer for free or she has to charge me all new fees and the monthly charge like the membership is brand new! WTF?!? I then ask what I have to do to get my guest in today - I will do the transfer at my home location the next day - and she tells me my guest has to pay for a $20 day pass, once again in an annoyed tone. So, complete waist of our time unless, that is, you feel getting treated like dirt is an enjoyable way to spend your time. So, then I have to wait 2-3 business days to work out at the new location as my membership transfers (according to annoyed blond chick). The night before I call the CLW location to make sure I can go workout with my guest and am informed by the more helpful gentleman on the phone that as a Black membership holder, I can sign guests in at any location...and then all I can see is red, lol. Anyhow, the gym is spacious with plenty of equipment, massage chairs & beds. They also have the PF360 which is a pretty neat circuit system. The gym was clean & not too packed. As for cons (beside the lackluster customer service), if your goal is to lift some serious weight, you will be limited here - no squat rack, no Olympic benches, no deadlifts...they do have quite a few Smith Machines, but...its not usually the best choice for most moves. however, if your out of shape like I am, you will have access to plenty of equipment to help you get back into shape & see gains for a bit - just plan to move on to a new gym once youre ready to do more hardcore lifting. For the type of club it intends to be (anti "gym-rat"), the gym is successful & adequate for many fitness levels. But Im docking serious points for the horrible customer service.

First let me start by saying that I go to Planet Fitnesss all over the US. There are certain things that I like to use that planet fitnesss dont carry which are an AB wheel jump rope and a 15 pound medicine ball. At best of facilities may have medicine balls but some do not carry 15 pounds and thats what I like to work out with. In all my travels to different PF facilities I have never ever ever had a problem bringing these things with me.Before this facility was built I always went to the Planet Fitness on 66th in St Pete, never once having a problem there ever. So tonight Which is March 28th 2016 I decided to come to this facility on Frontage.This is my second time coming to this facility and the first time I didnt have any issues which was approximately 3 weeks ago But tonight there was a problem with me bringing these things To this facility. Your employees Alex and Emily said that I could not bring them in And that they werent allowed and they were part of the policy. So when they pointed out this policy that you have which is a list of things at Planet Fitness that sit right on the counter I went through those lists of things from top to bottom and there was nowhere on that list that stated I was not able to bring these items in At best it had that youre not allowed a gym bag in thereBut nothing pertaining to the things that I was trying to bring. I find it small and petty to have such a list that you would enforce that you say these things are on there and they clearly are not. Secondly there shouldnt be a problem with me bringing in these items to a facility that does not have these things which are part of my workout routine. So since I got a hard time about it I left and went to the Planet Fitness in St Pete on 66th, which is farther away from my home considering I literally live between Ulmerton and Roosevelt on the east side of 19. Its the small things that will make or break a business or facility and keep people from coming. For me I will travel those extra few miles just because of that. So for that reason You get a star For location and the spaciousness and cleansiness. I will continue to patronize the one on 66th Street any other facility which I believe is in Safety Harbor where I dont have an issue about these small things.

I was a black card member for two years over a year in a Tampa location and then this one for almost a year. I was never more disappointed than when I lost my car key in the womens locker room and after I went to front desk asked if anyone turned it in before I went all the way home to get my spare thanks to my gym partner. Left my phone number with staff and came back went to get into my car and noticed my entire purse was stolen. Not only that but they had the nerve to lock my car after. I went on told staff and they looked at me with pity and said "wow" did not offer to call the police I asked if they could check cameras they said once police asked they could. After waiting an hr and half for police they reviewed the tapes and said they saw me come to gym and go back to my car but didnt see anyone else go into my car. So I guess my purse and key just lost themselves. I again let the desk staff know to please call me of the happen to see key or belongings after. My grandson was born the next day so I was distracted for about four days since the robbery. In that time NOT ONE MANAGER OR STAFF out of common customer courtesy called to see what became of the whole situation. I work in customer service and I am an assistant manager I would have called offered our help , anything to make this black card member happy. Since it happened on THEIR PROPERTY AND UNDER SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS. I am shocked and disappointed bc I loved going there but I just dont feel safe as a female who goes there after working 12 hrs at 8pm at night when no one can do nothing to protect your or you vehicles. Funny thing is I wonder how many ppl have been robbed there from ppl simply grabbing the car keys off the wall next to desk? Bc there are no cameras facing it and no staff ever checks to see if u have right keys. When I went to cancel my membership the manager told me he could "guarantee" that not his staff or members could have done this. Smh it clearly happened by either staff of a member. So I fairly warn you to lock your stuff in a locker bc they dont "guarantee your belongings be there" after your workout!
