Now people may get suspicious about all the great reviews popping up here around the same day, I know as a tech savvy consumer I would be but just to put it in context, recently the salon put up a deal on Groupon which HUNDREDS of people purchased so I imagine this thing will be flooded with reviews soon! Now for the review: Susie did my permanent eyeliner makeup at Body & Soul Retreat. At first I was very nervous and the procedure was a little painful but she has the tact and charisma to make it a breeze. I was concerned after the procedure was over because the eyeliner was very swollen and didnt look quite right to me so I asked her about it. She promised it would fade (it was very dark) and reduce in size (I wanted a natural look and it was very thick) and a little asymmetrical. She allowed me to make an appointment for a touch up two weeks later to assuage my concerns. I was still worried the next night, I had just put a permanent tattoo on of all things my face and I wasnt perfectly happy with it. I took photos of my eyes and sent them over to her personal number ( which she makes sure you have so she can help you if you have ANY issues, thought that was pretty nice) and explained my concerns. She promised again things would turn out alright and that if it didnt come out exactly the way I wanted that she would fix it because she guarantees all of her work. I really shouldnt have been worried because she was completely correct. By the time the 2 weeks were up both eyeliners had faded to look like it was just enhancing my lash line and they SHRANK! Its so hard to believe it will happen but it DOES! They went down to less than half of what they were it was nuts. It looks amazing! I went back for my touch up where she perfected everything now that it was healed to make them as perfectly symmetrical as possible. I always had very light eyelashes so if I didnt put on liquid eyeliner in the morning and mascara I looked like a cancer patient. I hated it. After this procedure I dont have to spent 30 minutes drawing cateye liquid eyeliner any more and hoping I dont screw up or smudge it and have to wipe it off and start again. I look great with the natural look now so I just put a little mascara and off I go. If I want to add a little drama for night I extend the "wings" of the eyeliner past the corners of my eyes for a little cateye pin-up look and it looks AMAZING. I would always have a problem with my liquid liner getting into my eyes throughout the night and making little black "eye boogies" which I would have to wipe out constantly and thus would rub off the part near the corner of my eye. I never have to worry about that any more and its such a relief to not have to check the mirrors at restaurants or when Im out and its hot and Im sweating to make sure my eyeliner hasnt smudged. Susie truly changed my life and her attention to detail show she genuinely cares about her clients happiness. Her efforts to make you comfortable and happy are something Ive rarely seen in the beauty industry, many people in this economy surely wouldnt guarantee to "fix" their work because it would cost them time and money. She does many other services and I look forward to having her do my eyelash extensions for my wedding at the end of the year. I know she will show me the same dedication she did through my journey with permanent makeup and she and this spa come highly recommended by me. :)

My mom has been going to Body and soul retreat since I am ten years old and she has been impacted in so many ways by this spa and I will go into it briefly. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at 42 and she has been going to the spa for their alternative treatments such as acupuncture, foot reflexology and so on.. They wholeheartedly are wonderful, courteous and respectful workers who have changed her life. She once came home and told me that shed prefer being with some of the therapists at body and soul than at any other space, she said they just felt more compassionate, humble and kind, not to mention they love what they do. The nail work is great, i am picky with tools and water and i have seen them clean their tools each and every time. I have met the owner before and she is a wonderful lady.I understand that there can be a wait at the front desk at times, I have waited a few minutes to get lead into the retreat but it is because the place is so great!!!!! and hey, when does anyone just get sent strait through to without waiting to get their nails done? Only at those sweatshop venetian places that throw you in one of their dozens of chairs, and i dont particularly like being treated like just a number. In regards to the aesthetic appeal in Body and Soul, there is a lot going on in the space but it actually feels as if it is a buddha sanctuary. It has antique buddhist fixtures throughout the halls, and in the "retreat" the rooms are all themed with the different chakra colors. There has been yoga offered at the spa, I took a few classes and they were great. I my self have had several facials and the products they used were excellent, I actually bought the cleanser before I left when i checked out. Nonetheless, the spa has been a great way to escape from my usual days and relax.

I only gave this place a star because my massage was the BEST I have ever received! Other then that it was the worst spa I have ever been to. I was appalled at the lack of courtesy and professionalism at the front desk. I stood there for 20 minutes trying to check out. There was ONE person working the front desk who seemed to not be organized in any way shape or form. I over heard her telling someone she was the owner and I have to say Id be ashamed to brag about that. The spa was dimly lit, had a moldy smell, when I called to schedule I was put on hold for almost 10 minutes. The only reason I would ever have gone back was because the massage therapist was amazing, I cant say enough good things about her. I was referred to her from a family friend and when I called recently to reschedule with her I found out she was no longer there, no surprise there. good thing I took her card before I left, I plan on going where ever she is working. If it wasnt for her I would have asked for my money back. Dont waste your time here, it is in NO way a retreat, more like you should retreat from here as quickly as possible. There was nothing Zen or Peacful about anything other than my actual massage. The couches in the waiting area were old, dirty and smelly and they serve cheap old fruit that looks like it was just thrown on a plate, and water was served to me in a less than clean cup. Save your money, itd be more worth it to go to a massage envy, and that is NOT a compliment.
