The phrase "No shirt, no shoes, no service" is so understood as to be a cliche. Why then, were my date and I seated next to some tattooed rube who thought putting his bare feet on the chair right across from him and right next to mine, in PLAIN view of the waitress and the later the manager of this place, and was not told the wasnt at home in the trailer park by management? Apparently, as he and his date kept ducking out to smoke, holding their table for a big chunk of the night, they were friends of said management. Weve eaten there twice, and maybe we havent ordered an actual specialty of the house. The first meal was forgotten before we got to the door, the second included the Portobello mushroom sandwich, which consisted of baby bells (not big, marinated Portobellos, which are the only thing any restaurant should be sourcing and building a sandwich around) in mayo or some imitation of it. Im not somebody who makes it a habit to complain about a restaurant (prices were fair, service was fine), but I did call the manager over and suggest that maybe this wasnt worth putting on the menu in this form -- tasteless, tiny mushrooms in whatever theyre calling that bread, and mayo. "Thats your opinion," the fellow snorted. Wont be going back. Suggest you skip it until the weather is cold enough that bare dirty feet on the chair next to you are less of a risk.

Was recommended this place and decided to try it out. Went on a Wednesday night so it wasnt overly packed with people. Service was a little slow, it seemed as though there was only one waitress for the whole place (inside and outside). Ambiance inside was nice but lacking. Light were a little dark inside, no art or pictures on walls, so it was a sort of plain. We had the braised rib empanadas, which were very good. Wished there were more, only two come with this appetizer. I ordered the 50/50 burger with sweet potato fries which was absolutely delicious. I was very impressed. My boyfriend had the lamb and chicken fajitas. The fajitas came out on a wood block and the meat was on a hot stone still cooking. It was very cool touch. Havent seen anything like that before. The other patrons around us had similar cool looking dishes and all looked happy. I also had the crème brulee which was also declicious. Overall great place with new food concepts, good presentation of food but needs more flare on the inside of the place. Would definitely go back.

We called to make a reservation for the mothers day brunch. The guy who answered the phone said he was sorry but they werent doing reservations for this event, it was first come first serve. I asked what time we should get there and he said if we got there by 10am we would be fine. We told our mother all about it and she was very excited. When we got there we were told they took reservations all day yesterday but were completely booked up. My sister told the lady what we were told and her response was, "Yeah...sorry I dont know why they tell people that." To be fair, the lady tried to help and offered us a booth, but since we had 5 people it wasnt going to work. If they had just told us they were full up the day before, we would have just gone elsewhere to begin with. Our mother cannot walk very far and we were super embarrassed to tell her we had to go somewhere else. Never going back.

Todays service was good thats why I rated an extra star ...the food not so much. I tried the Wayagu Brisket and had to return it to the kitchen (something I never, ever do) because it was pretty gross. the waitress took my plate back to the kitchen and took it off my bill with out any hassle and I appreciated that being because I was already feeling quite a bit sick from what I did eat. I have had some exceptional meats at a variety of locations and this was barely edible and barely resembled the description on the menu. And while I am on the menu ....be warned....the items listed under fragments in the menu on google are not on the actual menu at the restaurant. So dont expect to see any of those items there. All in all, like their sister location Brick House, it will be a while before I retun there - if I ever do.

Ridiculous place, service super slow, waited 30 mins for appetizer , ahi tuna, supposed to be seared came out half frozen. Then waited ONE HOUR for main food, which we never got. There werent many patrons in there, otherwise i could see the hold up. Waitress apologized about 50 times & kept saying, "soon, soon". Table next to us waited just as long, and they only ordered a sandwich & burger. Couldnt wait any longer. Atmosphere dark & loud from people talking over each other, no music, I felt like I was sitting in a tall empty shoe box with no tissue paper to buffer. The only cool thing about it was nothing. Left disappointed & hungry. DONT GO ! We Went to De La Vega Restaurant across street right after which was super fast, always pleasant & good !! Stick with what ya know ! BYTE BITES !

I very rarely make a comment to a restaurant unless the service had been exceptional or deplorable. In this case however, my experience at BYTE was by far one of the worst places bistros Ive eaten at. The servers were rude And didnt take my drink order until 20 min. Had passed. On top of that the waitress dropped the bun of my sandwich on the floor, which is no big deal (you just get another bun), but when you pick it back up and put it on the sandwich again, thats when I have a problem. When I called on the manager to replace the bun, he refused and said he didnt see it. DONT EAT HERE!!

THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN DOWNTOWN DELAND!!!!! Great atmosphere. Superb service. Excellent food! Savoring drinks! I had the fish tacos and I never liked the sound of fish tacos, but i had to try them because of the way they were described on the menu. I accompanied the fish tacos with their Mac and Cheddar that had bacon bits within (you can order it without the swine)! It was absolutely to die for. The also have an upstairs secluded area for private parties or meetings! AMAZING!!!!!

Food great, service not so great. I would have liked to have given this place 4 stars but the service was slow and we had to get up twice to find our waitress. My water wasnt refilled, I had to ask several times. The food was great! I ordered the salmon BLT with sweet potato fries; both were tasty and I would go back as I know waitresses have off days. We sat outside and it was a great atmosphere watching the people and enjoying the beautiful FL winter weather.

Food was phenomenal. Service left some to be desired. Chicken and waffles were great. Waffles were crisp and flavorful. Chicken was tender. Ordered mimosas and they came out in a timely manner. My wife ordered a second mimosa and she didnt get it til after she finished her meal. When she did receive it, it was only champagne, no OJ. However, the server recognized the slow service and (without saying anything to her) we were compd for our mimosas.
