Heres the thing- they DO have good coffee. It tastes good and it is fair trade. That being said, the way the owner (WHO IS THERE MORE OFTEN THAN NOT) treats people is beyond poor. This observation includes his staff and his patrons. I have personally heard him use curse words towards his employees on more than one occasion so definitely reconsider if you have children. My final visit here was a professional one and I suggested the location only to be embarrassed by how my colleague was treated by the owner - he actually walked away from her and this particular colleague has been referred to as one of the kindest people one countless occasions. He is very condescending and seems to have NO desire to work on this. For the record, I also waited 30 minutes for a bagel with peanut butter while there were only 3 other patrons... pretty sure someone forgot to finish the order. Overall this is somewhere I would recommend to everyone until I had enough of the abusive behavior that I came to observe time and time again. If you are just passing through town and need a cup of coffee, this place is sufficient because you are less likely to be subjected to his poor manners. There are Starbucks about 10 minutes, in either direction, on US1 and numerous wonderful coffee shops downtown (no more than a 5 minute drive)- please dont feel locked into this establishment if you have the time in the area... go enjoy our beautiful downtown and grab a fantastic cup of coffee somewhere else where the owners really care about your happiness and desire to return. I have boycotted and if you read the other review sites you will find plenty of others that have had very poor experiences with this owner.

Expected better from pictures and other reviews. Ranchero Bowl was nothing special; 2 greasy eggs with whites not even fully cooked, plain-tasting ground pork (tagged house sausage?) corn, beans, cheese, potatoes seasoned more by the cheese than anything. Maybe our experience was abnormal but service was abrupt and aloof. Attempt #1 from tall guy: "how much is the coffee cake?" Response: "I dont know". Attempt #2: "Do you make your baked goods" Reeponse: "Not all of them. Some come from Jacksonville" (in his defense they did look like Sams club muffins) Attempt #3: "excuse me, but am I supposed to get salsa with the bowl?" Response #3: "yeah, its in the bowl" and walks away. I left a tip on my card and hope the girl who made my coffee gets it.

I travel for business and have had coffee in literally hundreds of places around the country. This is not a "great coffee" shop. I dont want to exaggerate by giving a one star rating, but this is definitely below average for an independent place specializing in coffee. The brew is moderately strong, which is fine, but the flavor is sour: Id guess they buy too many beans at once to get a good price and then they sit around and lose their volatile oils and the coffee loses its rich, round aroma and flavor. The reviews here were promising enough that I walked the mile from downtown to try it and it just isnt worth the effort. I say "go to cafe Cordova." its only Starbucks coffee, but being such, at least its predictable.

After my hubby and I relocated throughout this aesthetically pleasing, adeptly decorated establishment twice to avert a faint but noticeable fishy smell, I obtained the results of City Bistro’s most recent food inspection (published online). According to the results of a food inspection report conducted by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation earlier this year, City Bistro was cited for 11 safety/sanitary violations and a follow-up inspection was required. Although I’m a tad skeptical about City Bistro, my husband convinced me to try them out a second time when we visit St. Augustine this summer – everyone deserves a second chance. ☺

Absolutely loved this restaurant--the food, the drinks, the service! They had a few vegan options, plenty of vegetarian options, and all of it was delicious!! We were also able to sit outside with our small dog, but had to order inside. For vegans: I had the veggie wrap one day, the tofu bowl another. Both amazing, but the veggie wrap was a little too olive-y for me! For vegetarians: the same options, honestly! Their baked goods are great, especially their danishes and muffins. I highly recommend this restaurant--for both breakfast and lunch! Definitely give this place a try!

This is my new favorite coffee shop in St. Augustine. I moved here from the Pacific Northwest and was worried I would not be able to find a good cup of coffee. Man was I wrong! This place serves coffee as good as or better than anywhere in the Pacific NW. There is always a great selection of brewed coffee and a great Espresso menu. Everything tastes extremely fresh and the baristas prepare it perfectly. Wonderful warm atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is pretty good too.

We were visiting from Tampa Bay, where every block is speckled with Starbucks. It was nice to see a unique, local coffee shop, so we stopped in. Cute place, nice baristas, and my drink was to die for! I decided on the Cortadito, a raw-sugar, lemon peel infused espresso drink made with half-and-half. I am now ruined forever! Nothing will ever come as close to this good. So bummed that we dont have this near us!

This place is Not excellent, and it is certainly not terrible... If you are in need of a quick cup of Joe to start your morning and not looking for anything more in a coffee, you wont be disappointed spending your money here. However, If your are in need of a really good Machiato, Cortado, or a two-shot twelve ounce latte with a cute decorative design on top of it, you wont find it here.

We were looking for a place for breakfast with good fresh ingredients. We were very happy with our experience. Place is nice mixture of cool and charming. Food was presented veey nicely and was delicious. Prices were very reasonable. Staff was friendly and helpful. We have been at other St. Augustine restaurants and this was definitely the best. We will be back.

Best coffee Ive had in a long time: since leaving Spain actually. The new owner is a very special person and the other employees are super nice! It is very clean and very easy to find 2 doors down from McDonalds on Ponce de Leon Blvd. Its got free wi-fi also. It is my new favorite place to get coffee and other food and goodies in St. Augustine!!!

- The outside: Its along side a highway and amongst a parking lot so this view and noise is a little annoying but you can at least smok and enjoy a coffee. - The inside: Nice rustic atmosphere, quality bean coffee, television, deserts and lunch specials, wifi and cozy.

Blueberry muffin plus organic coffee... Yeah Ill take a shot of espresso too while you are at it. This place is awesome with an unbeatable atmosphere where local musicians and foodies can thrive and chill. If you are just visiting St Augustine you should go here for sure.

Under new ownership now with st Augustine roasted coffees that are fair trade organic and small batch roasted. Healthier food options and options like soy or almond milks. But the food is still excellent with a great wait staff and a much friendlier atmosphere.

Very hipster cool. The staff forgot my coffee even after I mentioned it to the guy who brought our food. They were kinda busy so all is forgiven. The food was awesome. The Apple cinnamon muffin was so sugary i was buzzing. The bagels were scrumptious.
