During a recent road trip to St. Augustine my fiancé and I wanted to check out MOJO Old City BBQ after many friends had told us how great it is. During our last visit, on a weekend when a big concert was in town, the whole city was jam-packed with people and MOJO was slammed. The wait back then was over an hour for a table... so we decided not to wait. This time, we were visiting on a Tuesday afternoon in July after the lunch rush had passed. We got there about 1:30pm and were seated pretty immediately. If youre a fan of BBQ... this is 100%, no doubt about it, THE place to grab a bite. We started with their Kansas City Burnt Ends.... and it was DELICIOUS. It was as good as you can imagine... and better! My fiancé ordered the Pulled Pork Shoulder and I had the Beef Brisket. We each loved our choices. The sides were great... but with such fabulous food they were forgettable. The portions are plentiful so be sure to come starving. If youre in St. Augustine for even just a day, MOJO Old City BBQ is a must for a meal.

The male waiter, a white bald bouncer looking man, said MOJOS BBQ was rated Best in Florida! My family & I were excited to try it & sat outside with great weather! Food was delicious however minutes after we left on the trolley with our 2 to-go refills drinks of soda things went very bad for us.. 2 people out of our family of 5 with to-go sodas became violenty ill with intestinal cramping & pain! We believe that our male waiter put eye drops in our sodas & almost sent me to the hospital! It ruined our trip & the rest of the day was very sick & crippling me just to get back to our car we had to go 9 more stops on the trolley at times almost fainting & couldnt catch my breath! My stomach pain was at times 8-9 on a scale of 10 being unbearable pain. I am Very Disappointed with our waiter & if by chance it wasnt him that put eye drops in our sodas that it could only have been the food served to me & my fiancé :( PLEASE talk with him about this as we could have gone to the hospital from this very serious problem!!

Awesome Restaurant!! I think I wrote a review on a different website once but I just wanted to say again how great this place is! My favorite is the fried green tomato platter with the chipotle ranch. When people talk about how good it is theyre not kidding. I love the brisket its juicy and tender and smoked to perfection. Brisket for me is one of the best parts of meats but so few places seem to know how to cook it just right without it all being burnt and dried out. And the service is amazing!! My family and friends visit St. Augustine every summer and we always go there and Mojos is always packed full and crazy busy. But somehow they manage to keep up and our glasses are always full and theres always someone checking up on us. Its pretty awesome so Id like to say Kudos to all their employees and the kitchen staff. If I ever worked in a crazy place like that I would probably last one day before going crazy and jumping into the river. Just saying...I hope next year it will be just as fun.

Service was very fair, price was what should be expected in a city like Saint Augustine, the ribs, fried green tomatoes and long island were absolutely amazing, unfortunately their sides are far less appealing than the fixens you find at a more traditional bbq joint. Sadly, I was most excited for the pulled pork and brisket, both of which were disappointments. The pulled pork was dry to a point I almost believe that it may have been leftover smoked pork from the day before, and the brisket almost reminded me of a Ryans or Golden Coral type of meat; cheap cuts and poor quality masked by the amount rather than quality. With that all being said, I am 100% sure Ill never eat there again nor would I encourage out of towners to try it, theres probably better alternatives in Saint Augustine for a little less money. If you are going to stop in, definitely recommend the fried green tomatoes, ribs, and the wife promises youll be satisfied with the fried catfish sandwich.

Let me start by saying my wife and I have been to this mojos a few times now and we have always been happy with the service and the food. On 12-27-2015 we went there for lunch, l must say it was a mad house. The reason Im writing this review is to talk about two employees. Tiffany who was at the front desk who was single handedly running the show she was terrific, very polite and cheerful even under all that pressure she was amazing. Are server Vanessa was also wonderful despite how busy the place was she never forgot to ask us if we needed any thing and served us very efficiently. My wife and I were very happy with the service especially under the overwhelming conditions the food was also great. Thanks for your time Michael and Debbie.

Although filling, the FOOD DIDN’T BLOW ME AWAY. There’s nothing to really rant or rave about, so my 4 stars is because of this really ‘safe’ experience. You can’t dock off points for being good enough. There’s an expected VARIETY OF DISHES including dinner combos, sandwiches, and accompanying sides. My Smokehouse Chicken (Grilled Breast topped with sautéed Onions, smoked Bacon and Jack & Cheddar Cheese) was filling and stuffed. I needed a fork and knife to eat. Fiance’s ‘Smitty’ (Beef Brisket, Sausage, Cheddar, Mustard, Onion & Pickle) equally good. However each was noticeably MISSING A SMOKY FLAVOR. Again—not a deal breaker. Both were good but forgettable. THE SPACE APPEARED LARGER than other Old City restaurants BUT NOT CAVERNOUS AND EMPTY.

Went there for lunch around 3:30 on a Sunday and they seemed to only have one server. The serve was terribly slow but I cant blame our wonderful server because they were running him into the ground. Refills took forever and thats never good since we had been in the heat since 9am. My sister and husband had the sloppy mojo and kept raving about how delicious it was and could not get over it. There fries are something special too. I had the pulled pork BBQ sandwich it was good but nothing special. The blue burger is good too. Nice selection of beers on draft and in bottles. Took us forever to get the check but again probably not our servers doing but still aggravating. Nice place for lunch but dont have to go back.

Fantastic BBQ restaurant. Where to start??? Good selection of local beer on tap as well as the big names too. Over 200 whiskey, Bourbons, and assorted other liquors available as well. Bar was quiet on a Tuesday so we got great service and the bartender was really knowledgeable and friendly. Decided to eat in the bar to continue talking with the bartender. Family had a pulled pork sandwich, pulled pork quesadillas, and the two meat dinner. All of it was fantastic. The two meats were pulled pork and beef brisket and they were great! Sauce options were good too. Regular, a Mojo inspired sauce (my favorite), vinegar base, mustard base, and a chipotle (spicy). Didnt make it to desert, was too full! Highly recommended!
