- Horrible Customer Service - DONT WASTE YOUR TIME I called Morrison as they were recommended by TREX to install composite decking, and spoke to the receptionist to setup an appt. I was told I would receive a call back that day, which never happened. The next day I contacted them again, and this time they setup an appt to have a rep bid our job. Upon arrival the rep made it seem like installing a deck was rocket science, requiring architectural drawings in the thousands, a roofer to come in and install a roof under the deck (more thousands), and thousands more in labor to build it. Anyone with a little construction experience knows that building a deck is far easier than framing a house, and anyone with basic skills can do it. Aside from his "this is going to cost you an arm and a leg" trying to sell me all sorts of things I didnt need, he was very proud of the fact that "we tend to be higher priced than other companies", which in my mind shows arrogance. When a job is done to permit, it really doesnt matter much who does it, and when someone costs more its because they feel entitled, not because they offer a better product (all quotes with same materials and design). The next problem is that I waited 4 days after the rep came to my home before calling the company to ask where my quote was. I was informed "youll still need to hire an architect and roofer, as those wont be included in the bid", and told that the rep would email me the quote that afternoon as he was too busy at the time. Its been another 24 hours and no response... NEEDLESS TO SAY WHEN A CUSTOMER HAS TO ASK OVER AND OVER AGAIN TO GET A PRICE FOR A JOB, ITS TIME TO LOOK AT OTHER COMPANIES. This company could care less about its customers and just looks at you as a big dollar sign. Do yourself a favor and find yourself an honest, reputable builder and stay away from these jokes.

I would warn everyone to stay away. I hired Morrison Builders after Mike Morrison quoted the job. I wanted a straight edged top, board on board fence with 4 foot gates that swing in. I was told no problem, special ordered wood, paid the extra, etc. The problems began with posts being set at the property line, which would have put fence over neighbors property. The 1x6 spacing is inconsistent which resulted in the nails not having 1x6 underneath. The correction wasnt to pull apart and space as they should be but to add screws long enough to bridge the gap. The gates werent plumb or level with the fence and they even used 2 pieces of wood rather than 1 solid piece to clad the gate. Notified Mike that more posts were splitting and nails pulling loose and he has refused to honor his warranty or issue a refund. He now claims I was told the design wouldnt work. Its a simple board on board fence with a 4 foot in-swinging gate. Incorrect spacing, nails pulling loose, gates not hung level or plumb, and splitting wood are all workmanship and material issues.

I wish what Michael wrote was true. It is not to my advantage to back out of a contract or treat anyone badly, this has delayed the whole process of my dock and since he didnt take out the permit he was suppose to I am still in permitting. anyone would get upset if you email just to follow up and find out a week ago this happened and they dont have the decency to email their clients and let them know and then find out that they didnt even have permits like they were suppose to and then the email was 1 line long not explaining anything or having no compassion. I wish Michael well and i only wrote this review because I was recommended to him and didnt read these reviews before and thought people should know.

This is one of those arrogant companies that makes the client work to become their client. After I called for a quotation, I was told that I would need to measure the deck space I was replacing myself. Subsequently, I was told that Mr. Morrison was very busy and couldnt quote me until the following week. One and a half weeks later, when we tried to follow up with Morrison, I was told that we would need to sketch the deck and fax it to them for themn to quote me. When I asked the receptionist if they had too many customers to take care of and if this was the reason for the delay in service, she said yes and that I should consider looking for another builder. I agreed.

Outstanding craftmanship and quality, by far one of the best companies I have experienced in a long time. Once the city of Fort Lauderdale approved our permit, they put us in their schedule and once they started, our old dock was removed and the new one completed in under a week. I would highly recommend that anyone looking to build or replace their dock, talk to Mike Morrison. Lastly, the construction and materials they use, what you dont see underneath the dock, is exceptional. Not only does our new dock look great, it is built to last, they dont cut any corners, they take pride in their work.

At a time, and in a place, where indifference and shoddy workmanship are the norm, I was extremely pleased and impressed with the quality of the dock built for me by Morrison. The contruction crew members worked hard and were unbelievably precise and neat. The office staff dealt with all the permitting and inspection headaches and kept me updated. Im very happy with the end result and would recommend Morrison to anyone wanting a dock built right!

Morrison Builders put in a 50ft dock at my house they also cleaned up a code problem from another dock company basically at their cost. Their price wasnt the cheapest, but still competitive, and the work was done right, they even navigated the many levels of bureacracy needed to do anything these days. There were no "uh-ohs" or " I forgot to tell yous" or "that wasnt includeds" in the transaction. They did what they promised on budget, on time.

We just had new Trex decking put on our dock by Morrison Contractors. The pricing was reasonable and the crew did a wonderful job. The new framing that was added before the decking was applied is very sturdy. They replaced the stairs going down to the dock and they were very well built and attractive. We would highly recommend Morrison Contractors for any decking or fencing job (they previously put in a fence for us and did a great job).

IF YOU are looking for THE BEST team to construct your dock, THESE ARE THE GUYS!!! TOTALLY Love how the job turned out! City of Hollywood was slow as crap with permitting BUT, NOT Morrison Contractors!!! They had a big job knocked out in 5 days with PERFECTION! I shopped around with 5 bids before going with this company. BEST DECISION EVER!! Good luck with your project!
