For a recent vacation to Fort Lauderdale, I was looking for a place to stay that would be relaxing, private and provide a spa/resort atmosphere to allow me to pamper myself, something this practical guy doesn’t do often enough. After Internet research and discussions with friends, the Grand Resort and Spa came up several times with positive reviews. It has been rated as one of the best gay-owned and operated spas in the U.S. The Grand did not disappoint. The resort is very private with hotel key entrances needed to get in and fence/wall around the perimeter. Uber friendly staff is there to help with whatever you need. They were all so accommodating. I sprung for the five day pampering package with the pool view room. The package prices were beyond reasonable for all of what you get at the Grand. The room was large and well-maintained with great tile flooring, a huge king bed and a big walk in closet. Even the room mini-bar was quite reasonably priced. The grounds of the Grand are lush with plants and palm trees. The spa is in the back area of the resort, where the Jacuzzi and fountain courtyard are located. The Jacuzzi was always a great place to relax before an evening out or turning in for bed. The staff at the Grand Spa was incredibly professional and very skilled at their craft. Props to Wesley who was the best of the staff members I worked with. My visit was during the “off” season, so it was a very quiet atmosphere with 20 – 30 guests staying while I was there. The pool, of course, was normally the center of social activity. It was well maintained with pool side happy hours with drinks and food on most days of the week. The only real draw back was not having pool side bar service, but I understood the limitations given the privately owned operation of the resort. Your room has a refrigerator so you can have your own cold beverages as needed. The Grand is about two blocks from the beach. I spent my time there next to the resort’s pool soaking up rays. The resort’s location is pretty convenient (though not necessarily walking distance) to dining options, and nightlight is about 3 – 5 miles away. This was my first experience at a gay-owned resort, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for this type of spa/resort experience in Fort Lauderdale. The staff obviously takes great pride in providing a pleasurable experience for their guests.

Rude Staff! Drove by and saw the sign advertising its award winning spa (come in for free tour) So my partner and I decided to check it out. We walked in and were greeted and taken to the back spa area...I was very impressed by the surroundings...On our way out we paused to look at the main pool when a staff member bee-lined from the office towards us to ask if we were guest. We explained no and that we were checking out the spa....His immediate response was..the spa is closed and only hotel guest are allowed on the premises you must leave...Ok..we said..he continued to tell us we must leave with a very rude and confrontational demeanor..He Didnt ask if we had questions about the spa or would like to book an appt (which we wanted too)..It was really an awful, humiliating feeling to get kicked out of a place...ESPECIALLY when the reason for being there was to check it out to see if we would like spa treatments in the future...Very sad, because it really seemed like a nice place..However after being treated so disrespectfully we have decided not to return...Dear Staff..remember there are a lot of resorts with fabulous spas in your immediate surroundings...You dont want the word on the street to be that this is a unfriendly environment. Work on your hospitality skills.

We checked in 8/31/16 and left 9/4/16. I had my reservations at first as this was my first experience at a clothing-optional resort, but this place made me feel totally at home. One of the employees, Kevin, went the extra mile to give us a tour, provide us with information, and make us feel totally welcome. Some of the previous posts mention age of clientele a lot. My partner and I are in our early 30s, and we had the BEST time. Our room looked over into one of the pool and jacuzzi areas at The Worthington, and although at times it looked like they were having fun, Im not sure I would want the constant club music playing while trying to sleep. Well definitely be staying here again for our next Ft Lauderdale trip.

J D is the best hair stylist for guys of all time. Usually, for a guys cut you are in and out. This man takes his time cutting hair making it perfect. Literally, i mean perfect. He trims the eyebrows (not a lot just enough). He takes his time with the shampoo and being he is also a massage therapist it really was a scalp massage. To top that off he used a steam towel over my face. The price --- 30.00! Being in a Resort, the time spent its an incredible price. Ive paid 45.00 to 50.00 for cuts and his is beyond that in service and technical cutting. Be ready to laugh...he is a character! Sebastian

The staff and the rooms are really good! I could not believe how good they are specifically for the price. I will be back for sure again and again. John is terrific. I asked him if everyone is as good as him and he said with out hesitation " oh Yes" He praised even the owners in his response. What a humble man. He is an example of a professional and excellent service a business can be.
