I took my mother-in-laws overheating Subaru there because of all the great reviews. Just as advertised, Ben was very nice. I told Ben that I had tested the car and that it had a blown head gasket. He immediately told me that it was probably not the head gasket and that he would test it. I figured it wouldnt hurt so I said okay. He called later that day and said that the problem was the radiator was blocked and would need to be replaced. Ben said, he tested the head gasket and that it was fine. That didnt seem right, but I said okay. The bill for the radiator replacement came to over $600. Two weeks later the car started overheating again. We took the car back. This time a different mechanic checked it since Ben was on vacation. He determined that the head gasket was bad. They charged over $2500 for the head gasket replacement. I asked about the radiator replacement and this time Ben said that the radiator had a leak and needed to be replaced anyway. Which was it, did the radiator have a leak or was it blocked? I asked about the double labor I was being charged. Ben refused to give me any credit for the previous work. He said, he had expenses to pay and couldnt give me credit for any unnecessary repairs they had done. When the head gasket was replaced, we picked up the car and it immediately ran very rough. We took it back and Ben charged us for replacing the ignition wires. We again picked it up and it was still running rough. Ben said that the ignition wires were due to be replaced anyway. We took it back and Ben worked on it for several more days. It is still not running well but we will never take it back to Wales Garage. They are nice, they may be honest, but Ben is not a very good mechanic in my opinion. If you give him enough time and money, I think he could fix most things. I will not give him any more of my money or time.

Although I have never been to this shop and cannot provide an honest opinion regarding service, I can report that the response I received over the phone did not leave a good impression: I called to schedule a major service and alignment on my 4x4 truck, after mentioning that the truck had a slight suspension lift (2 inches) the gentlemen on the other end of the phone cut me off and said very abruptly "I dont do modified vehicles, I dont touch them at all!? If they didnt have the required equipment I understand that, but no need to be rude...So I called another shop in Fort Lauderdale that also had good ratings and they were able to accomidate me without complication. My recommendation for Wales Garage is to slow down a bit and consider how you respond to customers. In this case I would have spent about $900 at your shop instead of a competitor. Either way, there are a number of decent shops for customers to choose from.

I own 2 Subarus and was looking for a honest place to take my vehicles, a place where they know Subarus, do good work at a reasonable price and most importantly a place where they are honest. I took my WRX in and I cant be any happier. They did a great job and were very honest and upfront. I love the fact that they know my type of car, too. They might not be the cheapest place around or the most expensive, but they do a great work and I dont mind paying for peace of mind. I took my cars to cheaper places and even to the Subaru Dealership and it was always a waste of time and money. I recommend Wales Garage to anyone wanting to get their vehicles fixed right the first time. They are honest, reasonable and they know what they are doing. They been in business for over 50 years for a reason.

I own an 07 Subaru STi that i have an unhealthy obsession with. After moving to SoFl from the NE it was a biblical odyssey to find a competent Subaru-worthy mechanic. Ben has always been honest, direct and Subaru-savvy from day:1. Ive taken my car to Wales for shifter-linkage, radiator, alternator work and a myriad of odds and ends specially after my car was in an accident. BTW , he was the first person I called after said accident and helped me get my car on track throughout the whole process. This shop is customer focused and their function/technical skills are top notch. My Subie will be going to Wales for years to come.

I honestly dont know anything about cars, so when a shop would tell me something was wrong with my car, I wouldnt know if it was true or not. With Wales Garage, I know that they are being honest. Im so happy I finally have a place I can trust. They truly go out of their way to make sure you understand and are comfortable with the work. They let me know which repairs I need to make now, and which things can wait. Great service!!

Ive taken my Impreza here twice now and I love the service and the quality of work. Ben definitely knows his Subarus, and has only done the work needed without trying to up-sell me on a stuff I dont. Each time I came in with an issue I got the car back in great shape, problems resolved, and at a reasonable price. This is the only place in S. Florida Ill be taking my car to.

My car always had these problems with brakes and every time, I bring it to a different repair shop until I discovered Wales Garage in Fort Lauderdale FL. Their mechanics are all professional and polite. They also install customer parts just in case you already purchased the parts you need which is an awesome practice because some repair shops tend to overprice parts!

THESE GUYS ARE TOP NOTCH! Took my newly purchased used Subaru to them for work and they got the job done right. They were accomodating, honest and technically professional. They know their Subarus! Unexpected truth, with long lasting satisfaction are the two things I received when I brought my car here for service. Since then I tell everyone I come across to come see these guys. Theyre honest to a fault and have the experience to back it up. There public relations department can get a little hairy but will assist you to the best of there ability.

I own a 04 subaru sti and have had trouble with my a/c for a while now. After taking it to 2 other shops including subaru both shops said it couldnt be fixed. Took it to Wales garage and they fixed it in a matter of minutes! Their customer service is 5 stars! I will never go to another shop!

The alternator in my truck failed and I had it towed from where I work to Wales Garage. I needed to have my truck back the same day. Stuart and his crew were very friendly, professional and fast. They were able to have the new part installed and I was back on the road within a few hours.

Ive been taking my vehicles to Ben at Wales Garage for years. They go out of their way to save you money and make you car or truck right. My F350 Diesel and VW Passat both have over 100,000 miles on them and they run perfectly. Thanks for all the great advice and service Ben!!!
