Transfer or check out the beach location near Wal-Mart, its smaller, better staff and newer. Its good if you are just into cardio and simple machines to try to get tone. They say its not a real gym and Ill have to agree with that. I actually had no issues in either location in the four years Ive been here . When I moved to Jacksonville I was just looking for place to maintain my look and get over an injury. Very little free weights and the machines are on the cheap end. Its not a bad place at all. This location is very awkwardly shaped. Its about half a 1/4 mile long. I transferred out of there to the new location on the beach which is better . Would I join planet fitness again? No, its just not for me . If youre bodybuilder or very serious about lifting this is not the place for you. But they do advertise that they make it clear that theyre not looking for bodybuilders or athletes that are very serious about training . I think there is a good portion of people out there that would fit in planet fitness. I dont agree with the pizza once a month and havent Tootsie Rolls all over the place. but they do have a good concept I cannot put it down. Also they have very good tanning beds. They dont have standups at old Kings highway but they do at Beach Boulevard across from Walmart. The gyms are clean just not my cup tea it could be for you though. Good for beginners people that are really overweight or have low self-esteem. Their slogan is about not judging is true . I respect what theyre doing if it sounds like its for you I would recommend it.

Absolutely unacceptable. The womens locker room is never "cleaned". All around the perimeter of the room is layers of hair, dirt, and dust. They do the bare minimum surface clean And the showers..... Yuck. Also, two of the four showers have almost no water pressure. Leaving most of the "regulars" having to wait. If youre going to work out before work in the morning, you dont have much time to wait on bathing. Its A HUGE inconvenience to wait on two showers for ALL the morning women to have to use. And worst part is they are in NO hurry to fix it, as it was brought to their attention 3 times in the last month by myself alone. They always act as if its their first time hearing it. Put it off on the property manager.... Sick of the excuses! FIX THE DAMN SHOWERS, THEY ARE PART OF THE MEMBERSHIP. Lastly, and certainly least important, I have to note they only have travel sized hairdryers. ---Do remember to bring your own! Apart from that, theyre your standard $20 a month gym. Dont expect too much. (Not even a shower if youre running late). I definitely plan on moving to a different location ASAP. Ive been a member a long time and this location is just the worst.

This place is awful. No one is ever at the front desk which makes it impossible to ask a question or use any of my black card benefits. When I went in to sign up originally I had to stand at the front desk for almost 10 minutes which should have been my first sign not to come here. The facility itself is nice but the customer service is AWFUL. The location on beach Blvd is much nicer there is always someone at the front desk to greet you and to set you up using the tanning bed or whatever else it is you may want to use. Also the phone number listed online for this location does not work it either is a busy signal or says not a working number. I stood at the front desk this morning for 5 minutes waiting for assistance and no one ever came. Also tried to call the number and the above happened. Dont waste your time with this place. Not worth it.

I know its cheap, but when you sign up, you pay a $10 fee, monthly fee of $10 and when you sign off before due date, they charge you for an additional month, because they are open all 24 hours and got no time to deal with your cancellation. Also, you have to talk to the corporate office, I mean email them cause they dont have a number, to get your refund. I mean they can take the payment, but just cant issue refunds. This is my experience there, where I paid thrice the advertised amount for one month. So yeah, its not 10$ a month.

New World Essentials

They kept me on a higher 20 plan after my first year expired and have charged my account for 80.00 over my rate. After I showed them this, they continued to charge my account and added late fees. I think as retribution. The staff was less than helpful, trying to blame me at every turn and the manager wouldnt even come to the desk. My advise is to stay clear. You will not save money with the 10 a month deal if they rip u off for a hundred more!! Most of the bad reviews at this site are financial.....there is a reason for that!

Clean facilities, friendly staff and nice equipment. So far I only come in the evenings so I know the night shift crew who are all awesome! Only complaint, which is no fault of the employees, are the people who dont wipe down equipment after they sweat all over it. At night its rarely crowded which is nice, so you can get in, get in your zone, workout and go home. I cant speak about free pizza night bc I get there too late to indulge lol but the complimentary tootsie rolls help make a long workout more tolerable.

The facility is nice INSIDE and clean but the people upfront are RUDE and dont welcome you in! They act like they dont wanna be there and they give off the impression that you shouldnt be there either! The outside lighting was terrible in the mornings at first but it appears they fixed it as the whole parking lot lights are brighter which may not have been there problem but anytime have customers cars getting accidentally hit because its too dark outside it should be the establishments problem!!!!!

Great gym to go to if youre just starting out or dont feel like paying more than 10 dollars. Ive been going for about 2 years and the staff is always friendly greeting you at the door. They were charging me for a black card when I only had the basic membership but once I brought this to their attention they refunded my account the proper amount and waived my annual fee.

Ive been going here for a month now. Truth is, there are few things you can get for $10 a month that are better than a basic membership at PF. Theres always an open machine, its never too busy and all the equipment Ive used works. Its a fantastic value, in my opinion. Also, the front desk employees have been really helpful and they almost always say hello and goodbye.

When they opened this gym was awesome but it has gone down over the past 2 years. Beyond the initial investment not much has been done to maintain the equipment in top shape. Not sure why but since the new payment system Im being charged $0.06 more than usual.... I know its only 6 cents but thats not what they said they would charge...
