This location by far was me and my wifes worst experience that we have ever had at a Midas. After our experience, I dont know if I could ever trust these types of shops again. What made the Experience so Terrible is on Tuesday my Wife dropped our Minivan off for brake work. I was called by an Employee at Midas and quotes a rate of $328.79 for the total cost "out the door" for the service to be done. At the end of the day, my wife goes to pick up the Van and she is told that the cost is $406.00. She paid the bill and called me and asked if it was suppose to be that much !? I call the shop right away. The guy that was helping me stated that he "Miss Quotes" me the rate. I advised that the rate that he told me, is what we need to be charged. He stated to have my wife come back tomorrow with the debit card that she used to pay the 406 and he will refund us back the money that is owed. He stated that he was sorry for the mistake and this was his first day on the job. The following day, my wife goes back to the shop and the Owner, stated that he was not going to give us back our Money !!! He tried to give my wife a free oil change instead! She refused and he actually gave her only $40.00. I then called the owner and he stated that the Employee that told me the wrong rate had been fired because of his mistake and he was not going to give any more money back. He made both me and my wife feel as if this was our fault and we are the ones that did everything wrong! He also stated that no one else could help me because he was the owner. The Owner then put me on hold for at least 3 minutes. I hung up and called him back. He put me on hold to help a customer that was in the shop ! I advised that I will be contacting the BBB and Midas. He stated that talking to him like that was not going to help out my situation. At this point im waiting on a call back from Upper Management at Midas. I would suggest to never use this location ! If they make a mistake, then they treat you like you are the one at fault and dont ever think about getting compensated for the mistake. I wish I would have never used this Midas and I will never use any other Midas in the future again.

Zero stars. None. That star above? You dont see it. It is just required to post the review. My husband took his car here for an oil change. In this process, the tech broke the hood release pull handle OFF. And never mentioned it. To anyone. Two weeks later, husband goes to change out a headlight bulb, and, shockingly, cant find the hood release pull handle. He drives over to Midas, explains the issue. Carlos, who seems to be in charge, doesnt have a damn clue about the hood release handle, nor does he have any sympathy. Thats going to have to be taken up with the owner. Carlos idea of customer service is offering to have his techs install the headlight bulbs. (And then attempts to charge my husband fifty dollars American for the courtesy.) Naturally, they screw up this simple operation, and husband notices the retaining wire that holds the bulb in place isnt being put back in place. (Little did we know, it had been dropped down into the engine compartment.) "Theyre not replacing the retaining wire," says my husband. "Oh, we do that all the time," says Carlos. On the drive home, you guessed it, that headlight bulb slipped out of the housing and pointed at the sky. Signaling for intelligent life, no doubt. So, yet another trip to Midas to fix another screw up. The retaining wire is retrieved FROM INSIDE THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT by a tech with a functioning frontal lobe, and the headlight bulb is now secured. Still no f*cks given about the broken hood release handle. Manager Don shrugs, "Its Florida, the handle is plastic, it was probably old." No apology for his useless techs "help" in ensuring the demise of the handle. And certainly no apology for no one ever mentioning it to my husband, as if wed certainly never need to open the hood again. "Youll have to call the owner." No, Don, we wont. Instead, well post this review to Google for the locals to read. I hope the decrease in your business is everything you dreamed it would be.

Midas Ive been coming to Midas the past three years. The business is just ok but Im a creature of habit so I prefer just to go where its familiar. Ive received 6 oil changes (synthetic oil), new breaks and rotors, and four new tires. The picture Im trying to paint is that Ive spent a lot of money at this location. Not to mention once I decided to get my breaks done the price went up from the rate I was quoted when I brought it in for a check. Just recently my AC in my car went out. They performed a diagnostic test to see what the issue was. It turns out my ac compressor went out. I was told they could fix it for $1040. I then told them I would shop around a little and get back to them once I make my decision. I took my vehicle to Nissan dealership and had them perform the same test. It turns out the the last place I took my car to didnt close my air filter which cost me an extra $406 to have that cleaned out and replaced. The only place my car has been seen the past three years is Midas of north Lakeland off of 98 n. So in addition to getting my AC compressor fixed I also had to come out of an extra $406 for Midas lack of attention to detail. Ongoing I will never put another penny into Midas! Its ridiculous how they expect to get paid but do a half job instead of taking time to do a thorough job. The service is less than satisfactory and I will take advice of others when Im told to leave these companys alone.

Joe and his pit crew are awesome! I visited there recently for a 2nd opinion regarding repair recommendations I received from a technician at Tires Plus after hed changed the oil in my Jeep. Joe not only personally showed me what repairs were really necessary, he pointed out everything the Tires Plus technician didnt do that Id been promised, such as top of my fluids (most obviously washer fluid was nearly empty) and the air filter cover was left unlatched and dangling under the hood. Consumers are suspicious about auto repairman anyway and the Tires Plus technician reinforced my own mistrust. Joe, on the other hand. turned it around completely. His estimate to fix a leaky cover gasket wasnt necessarily cheaper than Tires Plus, it was certainly in the ballpark. You cant write up integrity in an estimate but it was there, His willingness to fit me into his busy schedule and provide a courtesy ride to a restaurant (thanks Kyle) while the repairs were made was an example of customer care at its finest. When the repairs took a while longer than promised, Joe made it right. I didnt ask, it was just done. Lakeland Midas has earned more than my business, they have earned my trust! Thats a priceless piece of mind. When it comes to the possibility of making costly auto repairs (or even routine maintenance), I wont hesitate to give my business to Joe and his great team. Jim Shock-a VERY satisfied customer for life.
