Ive had a membership with Anytime fitness for almost four years. About a year ago I started the process to try and cancel my membership. The location I primarily frequented at 1408 Dale Mabry never had anyone in the office, I went to a franchise branch and was told I had to resolve the issue at the original place I held my membership. I called the 800 number on my credit card and they wouldnt help me either. Finally, someone was in the office at the Dale Mabry branch and told me there was a 60 day cancellation wait. I waited over 60 days and still no sign of closing the account. I decided to call my credit card company and cancel the automatic deduction. Then I started to get harassing phone calls from ABC Financial that there was an issue with my account. After speaking to a representative multiple times explaining my situation, making calls to the gym that were never returned, I sent a certified letter. Michiael Fitzgerald called me to help resolve the issue, I went into the office and he told me after everything Ive been through I still have a 30 day cancellation notice plus late fees and back payments owed. I paid him, returned my key and am still getting phone calls from the financial institution that I owe 50.00. I went to the office today to settle this issue and again no one was in the office. I will never do business with this company again, they have lied, avoided me and their billing company refuses to do anything to help. Ive called, sent letters, talked to the billing company and paid after I cancelled automatic deductions just to get the situation finalized. Im still being told I owe after Ive paid and spoke with a manager. The gym membership was supposed to be from month to month and not a long term contract. They are modern day extortionists. Im frustrated, angry, and feel like Ive been taken advantage of when Ive been loyal, Ive helped them get business, another story, and I am courteous and take care of the equipment.

The owner has abandoned the gym. No one is ever there to assist with membership issues or to cancel. No one answers the phone and this has been going on for months now. The facility is disgusting as the only person (personal trainer) who was cleaning has left. I went to work out this morning only to find out that the member’s door will not open and since no one mans the office anymore, there’s no telling how long this will go on. I’ve called, emailed, and gone to two locations to cancel my membership with no success. Corporate refers you back to the location owner who is unresponsive. If I could give this location 0 stars, I would! As a follow up - I called corporate today and was able to speak to someone in Customer Service. Due to the ongoing problems this location is receiving, they were kind enough to cancel my membership for me. If youre having similar problems, reach out to corporate.

The cancellation process is very unreliable. I spoke with the manager (skinny guy with glasses) 3 months in advance to make sure that my payments would stop at the agreed date. I gave my 60 day notice as required, he assured me at least 4 times that the payment would not be withdrawn. Needless to say, the account continues to be withdrawn and I had to cancel my debit card so they would stop. Get everything in writing. You may feel like youre being overly careful, or like youre bugging him, but youll be glad you did, otherwise it wont get done correctly. Never again with that place, and Ill make sure no one I know ever gets a membership there.

I wanted to post an updated review since the other ones were older and maybe during a different ownership. I was at another anytime fitness and just moved to this location. The past reviews did give me reservations about the gym. I was pleasantly surprised to see the gym wasnt neglected and someone was on site when I went in on a Friday morning. I cant speak to any of the other issues around cancelling but overall the gym was clean and looked to be well maintained.

I decided to cancel my membership because I felt I was not getting my moneys worth. The owner never cleaned the gym. There was soap scum and mold in the bathrooms, Sweat Dirt and food crumbs on the treadmills.I was paying the additional "Upgrade fee" never once did I see any new equipment for this fee I was paying. I called the corporate office to cancel my membership. After learning that the owner abandoned the gym.

New Owners new management Place is looking good..well , spoke to soon !!! Owners cant seem to get help that stays..place seem to never have staff..not even the owners can show up on time. Their still charging my acct for my son s membership..and double charged my acct ...place is dirty again. ..dark...no cold air ..specially on Sundays Old rock music .. Find somewhere else

Ive been at this gym over 2 years. Its a great environment for a multitude of fitness goals. Theres not much else you could ask for in a gym. Its usually never crowded and everyone seems serious. Theres no BS. No problems getting in even on holidays.

This gun is disgusting and filthy. Smells and there is dust and sweat drops everywhere. Looks like it rarely gets cleaned. Great place to catch the flu.
