In 2008, my husband & I interviewed & obtained estimates from three roofers as we needed a brand new roof on our home. We chose Hippo and they were not the cheapest but we felt we would be getting the best roof for the dollar. They are professional and I liked that when they left the home, we knew the absolute figure as one of the men had been in our attic taking pictures identifying damage so there was none of the old "this is our estimate but we cannot be sure of what damage might exist until we open your roof". Nope. They knew the damage as did we so the estimate was a final number. Fast forward to 2013, we had a question about an area and we called and they showed up within a day or two and checked it out confirming for us that our roof was in excellent shape. In 2014, we discovered an issue inside our home with moisture on the wood and we called Hippo to confirm if we had an issue in the roof. They confirmed that all they could see was fine except one small nail they wanted to redo "just in case down the road" which they did at no charge. Plus, Brian asked if he could come by while we were having someone do the work on the inside wood just to be sure "nothing else exists that could cause a problem". We called him when the man was working and he came by so he could inspect and again insure there was no problem with our roof. My husband had been wanting to install a roof fan and we decided to do it at this time. Brian would not accept any payment until the fan was ordered, delivered, installed and confirmed to be working well. Now, were in 2015 and we were having new gutters put on our home when we discovered that the original gutters (NOT installed by Hippo) were installed incorrectly and had created a problem with water damage to the fascia and soffit. We called Hippo and they sent Tony and he was able to repair the damaged fascia, soffit and wood that had been damaged on our roof. We now have an issue with our Stucco in this 26 year old home, and I did not know who to call. I had arranged an appointment last week with what friends told me was someone that "has a good reputation for stucco" but he did not show and has still not returned my phone call asking to reschedule. I wont be rescheduling with this person. I just called Brian at Hippo and voila.....hell contact someone he trusts to come out and Hippo will meet them just to be sure theres nothing happening with my roof. My point? From what I hear from friends and other professionals I trust, Hippo Roofing puts on a lot of roofs in Brevard County. Theyre good at what they do and thats why theyre busy. Anytime you do that much work, you cannot please everyone as some people are asking things either you cannot do or will not do as it will not be a good outcome and some people just want it cheap no matter what the outcome down the road. I learned from other professionals that when you agree to go the "cheap route" and things go badly later, the professional gets blamed every time. They get blamed if they wont do the cheap route too. So, I give Hippo 5 stars as theyve proven to me over and over that they not only stand by their work...theyre standing by to help us as homeowners. Keep it up.

The General Manager Ricardo Matus got upset I called him a moron. I prefer knowing ahead of time that someone is coming to my house. The General Manager of a company for instance. Especially when a bunch of men with power tools are going on my roof waking me up. I had 6 other roofing companies look at my pictures and listen to my story and they all agree. Shoddy work and poor management. I filed a complaint against them with the State of Florida and they lied to them so they wouldnt have to finish my roof. The owner DOES NOT CARE about his customers once they pay in full. One of my cats almost got sliced up by a 7in. long piece of jagged metal they left on my property ON PURPOSE!!!! I should have inspected my roof better before I gave my final payment. Shoddy workmanship of metal roof. Screws were missing and one of my roof vents was installed wrong. I noticed the screws missing. Not them. Corners of roof do not match and metal was left uneven with edge of roof. And again, I found these issues. Unfortunately it was after I paid. Very bad cleanup. I had to do cleanup every day AFTER they left so my family and pets would be safe from the nails and screws and bits of metal they didnt clean up before they left for the day. I stepped on a rusty nail from old roof 2 mos after roof installed. Was not good. Very poor communication from general manager Ricardo Matus. Owner apparently doesnt care since he wouldnt meet with me after general manager pissed me off with his attitude and not knowing how to make phone calls to a homeowner. And I got the shaft because I got upset and cussed. A 57 year old 53" 125lb. woman is considered a threat to 4-5 grown men who didnt even speak English except for the crew chief. Because she cussed and hollered cause she didnt know they were coming until she heard them on her roof with their power tools. After being up most of the night dealing with a dying dog. But they got their money so thats how it goes. Shame. I thought I hired one of the best roofing companies in the county. Run fast. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!THE CREW DOES NOT SPEAK ENGLISH!!!!!THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO MAKE THE CORNERS OF A METAL ROOF LOOK THE SAME!!!!! There were NO numerous attempts to fix my roof. They were only sent out one time and that was without me knowing they were coming. I would rather cry every day for the rest of my life than deal with Ricardo Matus. There should not have been any need for them to come back out if they had done it right to begin with. My pictures speak for themselves. I will hire real professionals to finish my roof.

Living in Florida can be a real pain sometimes...especially when we get those torrential downpours. It was after one of those rainstorms that I noticed a stain starting at my roof and working its way down the wall. I was concerned, but not to worried because I had had my roof replaced about 7 years ago. Well, I called the original roofer and lets just say things didnt go well. Thats when a friend (Bill) recommended Hippo Roofing. I called Hippo and spoke with Bryan. Not sure if I spelled that right. Anyway, they came out to my home right away and found the problem. The original roofer screwed up. Asphalt shingles were spaced incorrectly and the wrong type and wrong number of fasteners were used. Bryan even took the time to take me to the manufactures website and showed me- in black and white-the manufactures recommended installation guidelines. So I knew in an instant that Hippo Roofing was not lying to me. After a long talk and answering all of my questions I decided to go with a permanent roofing solution. Couldnt afford it at first, but Bryan got me some great financing. Long story short, I LOVE my new roof and have ZERO complaints about Hippo Roofing. You guys were great!
