I decided to have a high end salon trim my hair the week of my wedding so that I would look my best for guests and pictures on the special day. I chose ARUJ in Coconut Grove, FL and couldn’t be more upset by the haircut provided by Danny. My haircut at the time was only a week old, so an easy trim to tighten up was all that was needed. Instead, I left the salon with more than 2/3 of my already short hair cut off. Additionally, the fade was impressively poor with clearly visible lines and a near bald patch following an accidental stroke. Danny was completely unprepared and seemingly incapable of cutting mens hair. The majority of the hour long trim was spent trying to locate clipper guards until ill-fitting guards were finally used. Thankfully, a stylist at the salon heard about my issue and assisted me in making my hair cut look like I didnt cut it myself in the dark. She was especially courteous and understanding and was clearly shocked by the poor job done by Danny two days earlier. Albeit short with a still noticeable patch on the top left side of my head, she did a tremendous job attempting to fix Dannys mistake.

Unfortunately I have to write a bad review! I got a facial, which was similar to something I could have done at home. (Before anything, I want to say that Ive had facials done at many high end hotels and spas in miami.) I wanted to try a place near my home to avoid the commute to spas further away. Long story short, the young lady who took care of me was beyond nice (reason why it pains me to write this); however her kindness cannot make up for her lack of skills as an aesthetician. She used the tips of her fingers/nails to make the extractions, which left her nail imprints on my face! In fact, one particular blackhead I have, -that she struggled with- is now a black dot on my face, which I hope will clear out. I still see the same pimples and blackheads as before the facial. So now I have to go elsewhere to correct the problem and pray to God this facial didnt leave me scars. On a slightly positive note, her massage skills were amazing -reason why I tipped her well. I think salons should know what their personnel is good at. Unfortunately she didnt not perform a proper facial.

Estuve de vacaciones todo el mes pasado en Coconut gorve, asi que me recomendaron ir a probar este salon para pintar las raices, yo sabia cual era mi tono y se los dije, sin embargo me lo dejaron mas oscuro. Esto no es lo mas importante porque se soluciona pero lo mas molesto es su pésimo servicio al Cliente, no te tratan de ayuda, sin pesados y poco amigables. Me salí algo molesta de ese salon y me atravesé la calle al M salon y me atendieron mil veces mejor. Se los recomiendo mil veces mas que Detlev Salon

Two years ago I have asked for the phone number from my dear friend to see her hair stylist, because her hair looked amazing. I met Danny and got hair cut from him. He is very patient and skillful and joyful and passionate about his profession.He paid attention to my every request and made sure the hair looked just right. Plus the atmosphere in the salon is so peaceful and relaxing. I got so many complements from my fiends and my coworkers. I do not have to spend hours to make my hair to look great. Because I can just wash and go and my hair just falls beautifully on my shoulders. I have been sending many of my friends to Danny since then. Now I moved to Fort Lauderdale and I still drive once in 4 months to cut and color my hair with Danny. Now that is colored my hair it looks vibrant and flowy. I would recommend Danny to anyone looking for a great professional hairstylist.

Detlev Aveda is amazing! I have been a very happy customer for about 4 years and I never go anywhere else! Adriana is amazing at crafting the perfect pixie cut for me and helped me find the perfect color blend to complement it! Book early...shes in demand! When I got engaged, I also turned to the salons makeup services for the big day. One makeup trial with Hector was all I needed to be convinced that this team was going to be my go to on the big day! The wedding is in three days and I feel so confidant that they know exactly what I am looking for! In addition, their customer service is on pointe all the time! The staff at the front desk are friendly, they remember my name and who I am there to see, and they always offer me a tea while I wait (which is never long). I would give this salon the highest recommendation....6 stars if it was an option!

Great Salon but I will explain.... I originally met Chantel at a Salon In Miami. When I called to set up an appointment while I was on vacation I discovered Chantel no longer worked there. I was determined to find her and after researching on Facebook and Instram found out she just starting working at Detlev-Aveda. I was so excited and set up an appointment for 5pm. To make a long story short....I was stuck in traffic for over an 1.5 hrs w/my husband, sister-in-law and brother-in law but kept in touch several times and explained to receptionist why I was running late. Chantel shift was over @ 6:00. I got there at 6:05 and Chantel had LEFT. Chantel was a BIG disappointment. I guess she really doesnt care about her clients!! Got my hair cut by someone and he did a great job!! Kudos to him. I wish I could remember his name?? Karen Long Island, NY

Ive been going to DetLev since 2005. I even moved to Broward but have not been able to find anyone close who provides the same quality service. The stylists are experienced and know what they are doing. You can see it as soon as you walk in the door, everyone has great hair even the receptionist. Jim has been my stylist since 2010. No one knows more about hair. color. Ive had Ombres that last more than 9 months with him and I still get compliments on how great the color is. Nothing beats DetLev! And I continue to drive an hour to see them because of it.

Been going to Detlevs for about 3 years. I love that its an Aveda concept salon! I get my hair done with Linda. I also take my two teen girls to her and she always does a fantastic job! My husband also goes to Detlevs barber shop next door with Josh. Its a mini spa treatment for him in this upscale barber shop. They always have specials, so sign up for emails or go on their Facebook. They recently had a father and son special at the barber shop and my husband took one of our boys. Josh did a beautiful job! Enjoy the Aveda tea- its always soothing.

Was insulted by the stylist (who said that my hair was gross/she insisted I had gel in my hair when I literally havent used any product in months). I asked for a high contrast fade and didnt receive it. I asked her for a no guard on the sides and she used a guard anyway. Wont be dropping $50 on a haircut I can get for $10. I assumed for the difference in price they would at least pay attention. Front desk was great.
