Mi nonmbre es Hector Payares, soy medico cubano y trabajo actualmente como Nurse Practitioner en esta ciudad donde vivo con mi familia. Este “REVIEW” que voy hacer, es justo y necesario como medida profilactica a mis muchos amigos y familiares en Miami y otras cuidades de los Estados Unidos…Sencillamente, para que no tenga la misma mala experience que tuve con “Mena Travel”. Son tantos los desagravios con este viaje que “Mena Travel”me vendio como un paraiso y que en realidad no vale ni la mitad de los miles de dolares que me cobraron. La razon por la que escogi Mena Travel es porque hace mas de 10 anos les compre un package a “Las Vegas “ y en honor a la verdad todo fue positivo. En esta ocasion a Punta Cana la Sra. Judy (Staff) empezo muy mal por no darme todos los detalles del viaje. Tuve que pagar mas dinero por una cancelacion de unos de mis hijos. Ella me explico que en esos casos la lineas areas tiene un cargo. Lo entendi, sin embarogo, yo no sabia nada y ella estaba supuesto a educarme con eso o cualquier otro imprevisto (porque los imprevistos cuestan dinero!). Por supuesto, termine pagando cientos de dolares mas. No podia hacer otra cosa porque ya tenia invertido dinero en el viaje. Me siento timado por lo que “Mena Travel” me vendio y para no extenderme, porque son muchos los malas experiencias; quisiera preguntarle al Sr. Pedro Mena, que de paso es un individuo educado y aparentemente de gusto refinado, si el va con frecuencia a la “Punta Cana” que el tanto promueve? La razon de mi pregunta es porque aparentando ser una person tan sofisticada y de buenos modales no creo que le guste ir a este lugar; al Barcelo Bavaro Palace infestado de moscas y malos servicios, donde la masividad al estilo cubano de la Cuba Comunista pone por el piso la “Calidad”. Solo por mencionar algunas dificiencias terribles de un turista que trabajo duro todo el ano para disfrutar con su familia : 1-Nadie me dijo en Mena Travel que estabamos supuesto a llevar pantalones largos para entrar a esos restaurantes de malisima calidad y poca higiene, donde la comida es de la peor, con moscas y sin aires acondicionado; donde mi esposa termino enferma despues de comer una cena inmunda en el “Hoyo 19 Restaurant”(Los camareros no tienen ideas basicas de servicios, HORRIBLE!); 3-Termine comprando unos patalones carisimos ($150 x 3 males +18% de impuestos) y de malisisma calidad en la tienda del Lobby, solo por una falta de informacion de la Sra. Judi; 2-Mi habitacion tenia serios problemas con el aire acondicionado que no enfriaba lo suficiente; por suerte, teniamos un fan en el techo que amortiguaba el calor intenso en la noche para poder dormir; 3-La limpieza diaria de las habitaciones ni hablar, de la peor; 4-Solamante me pude tomar un mojito el primer dia que llegue, el resto de la semana cada vez que preguntaba, no llabia llegado “La Yerba Buena” necesaria para ese coctel; 5-En relacion a la seguridad, el chofer del Bus que nos llevo a la isla de Saona y los Buggies manejaba como un loco poniendo en peligro la segurida de mi familia y del resto de los turistas. Es obvio que estaban mas interesados en terminar el dia lo mas rapido posible con los “TURISTAS TONTOS” en vez de hacer algo profesional. Hector R. Payares

If you want to save yourself time, money and lots of headaches, I suggest you find yourself another agency, or prepare the trip yourself. Don’t let their initial friendliness fool you, as their services are incredibly dissatisfying. I have never seen such disorganization and so many errors on a task. They initially gave us one quote and as time went by they kept increasing the costs; even worse, after paying more than expected, they did not deliver as promised. To name just a few of Mena Travel’s mistakes, they messed up on departure times, overcharged our credit card (to later process a return, which was a hassle), booked a cruise for a 7-month pregnant woman (and when you log onto the cruise’s website it clearly states that women past 24 weeks of pregnancy cannot travel) so we had to re-arrange the trip, booked a room with 2 twin beds for a pregnant wife, her husband + a toddler (how were we supposed to fit?), booked a city-tour we did not request. When complaining to them about their services they threaten to cancel the entire trip (only weeks before departure). When we arrived to our destinations we continued to be disappointed, we agree with (user) Arturo Ayala on the hotels specially. We tried to be as patient as possible, and let many of these mistakes go by, as we understand a 25-day trip to different cities is not easy to plan –that’s why we hired a travel agency on the first place-, however after too many errors and lack of answers we were fed up and had to write this review because we really hope nobody else has to go through this when trying to plan a memorable trip.

We were very excited when we made the arragements to travel with Mena Travel. Unfortunately, we did not have experience traveling through an agency and we based our decision on the rating of the internet. I will start my saying that the sales representative at Mena Travel lied to us and sold us a traveling package that was nothing of what she had described to us when we arrived in Europe. The hotels she said were rated 4 and 5 stars; the hotels to say the least were a complete disappointment and a health liability to our family. We spend an average of 10 to 12 hours on the omnibus more time than visiting any of the sites in Spain, France or Italy. We highly recommend you do not ever use Mena Travel for your traveling needs in particular vacationing with your family.

Mena travel planned my honeymoon to Greece and Italy , from the beginning working with Cecile (ceci) was a dream, she was kind and patient, she helped develop an itinerary according to my budget and the places I wanted to go. She kept me filled in on any changes with flights and pricing and did a fabulous job. We loved our honeymoon all of her recommendations were excellent and I can highly recommend them! They went above and beyond with everything! I plan to use them again in the future for travel!

Weve booked several trips with Mena Travel, and weve always been happy. But they really blew us out of the water with our recent trip as a family of four. They really know how to accommodate families with small children. We were nervous about traveling overseas with our 1-year-old, but our agent Eddie made sure to dot all is and cross all ts, so when we arrived we had nothing to worry about. We highly recommend Mena Travel, and will book with them again.

Awesome Service! Weve used Mena Travel for several trips and theyve never failed to impress us. Somehow our rooms are always bigger and better than expected, and the service we receive is stellar. I definitely recommend this company. Way better than trying to go through those travel websites who seem to never pick up the phone.
