This YMCA is great. The new free weights were needed and now you can get in a good workout. It is sometimes a bit crowded if you want to use free weights and machines, but normally the people here are nice enough to let you work in between their sets. The basketball leagues are very competitive and sometimes have ex-NBAers playing in them. The staff is great and friendly. Every time Im there they greet me when I arrive, when they passe me in the halls or when they see me leaving. This YMCA also provides towels and free lockers for your keys/wallet, etc without having to give you ID. The only complaint was when we took our son to the kid area, I specifically told them that it was his first time so to please pay a bit more attention to him because he was going to probably be worried about mommy and daddy leaving him. While we were there, they said they would make sure to stay with him to make him comfortable. As soon as I walked out, I went around the corner to peek through the glass to make sure my son was ok and he was already crying and being ignored by the staff. I had to go back in and ask if they could help him feel comfortable. Again, I left and within 5 minutes I checked back and he was by himself again crying. I dont fault them though only because I know they do their best with what they can, so I just havent been able to utilize that section of the gym. Other than that, this YMCA is great. Its my 2nd favorite location behind the Oviedo YMCA.

I am on occassion in the Downtown area of Orlando and visited this location. They do accept drop-in visitors. I was a bit disappointed by the visitor fee, though. In this day and age where 30% of American adults are obese, I believe the YMCA has a key role in making exercise available, fun, and interesting even if you are in the 40-60 year old group and can only find an hour to exercise. I do wish the Kissimmee location had more of the classes and programs this location has.

I am not from the Orlando area so I visited a bunch of YMCAs and this one is the best! The staff made me feel welcome from the start. They have a smoothie bar and product stand inside! The mens locker rooms have flat panel TVs in them. The variety of equipment and classes is top notch. Tim P is an awesome instructor and motivates you in a positive way. Plan a bit extra time to get here in the evening due to traffic, but it is well worth it.

The members went really nice, the staff was nice, the facility was big but mixed up and dirty in some places. I would recommend goin to the St augestine FL one on pope Rd on the island the whole place is nice and relitivly tidy, the staff and members are nice its not to crowded and the basket ball court is awesome

Friendly staff and customers. I like classes because I get motivated ~ great classes, great schedule, great instructors. Great cause ~ yes, theres a lot more to the YMCA than the gym ~ its the heart of the community. BUT ~ the gym part is fantastic! If you swim, indoor AND outdoor 25 meter pools. Has it all.

I went there as a smaller child when I was elementary with Orange Center Elementary every Saturday. Back around 04-06 best Y in Orlando. I doubt theyve changed any if So theyve gotten better. I suggest this one over any other. And I have one right down the street from me, Id rather go here.

So happy we joined the Y! We have been coming to this location as well as several others across Central Florida for almost 5 years now. Justin and his staff are fantastic and the facility is super clean. Its also cool seeing all the stuff they do for the local community downtown.

Ive been a member of the Downtown YMCA since 2004. This Y is more than a place to workout, its a place to connect with a community. I have witnessed the fabulous work they do for all the various people that come through this Y. I am proud to be part of this community!

The best YMCA in central FL, machines are always in good order, lots of great classes, child care center has been helpful as well. The only downside is they recently got rid of the headphones, they werent great to begin with, but helpful if you forgot your own set.

I been going their for 4 years and I never been bored if the place. Everyone their you can meet and be friends. I use to be a skinny kid now I am a ripped kid playing high school sports thanks to the YMCA :D. Be a member and I bet you will not regret it!!

The downtown YMCA is an excellent gym that offers a wide selection of cardio, strength and endurance training options. The friendly staff is a pleasure to interact with during your training. Highly recommended for beginner to advanced training.

My favorite place to workout!! The staff is super friendly and helpful. My kids can play safely in kid zone while I get my workout in and they have swimming clases too which my kids participate in twice a week.

Gym is actually very poorly design. Cardio deck is miles from the free weights. Pool is rarely cleaned and sometimes green
