Pardon & Son was dispatched from Old Republic Home Protection (home warranty service) for a blockage. They came out and snaked the line from the clean out to the alley and pulled back a few small roots, then tried to snake from the clean out into the house and told me they could only go 8 feet in which meant there was an issue with the plumbing outside the house based on where he thought the pipe ran, probably from roots. Pardo told me the job would be over $1200. I paid my trade call fee of $100 for the warranty service and waited for the call from ORHP to tell me that plumbing issues from roots and/or outside the house were not covered. I had my plumber come out to confirm, and he told me that Pardo was hitting an underground cleanout under the house (1920s home) and that there was no way to snake the inside from the outside clean out because the plumbing branches off. Pardo also mistook the sprinkler pvc which runs parallel to the house as the plumbing into the house which is why he fought 8 feet was still outside the house. The clean out is only a few feet from the house, and I could hear my plumber hitting the iron fittings, which are deeper in the ground than the sprinkler pvc pipes. I paid my plumber $85 and called ORHP to tell the problem was indeed under my house and they still denied me coverage. I told them the roots were pulled out between the outdoor cleanout and the alley but the plumber insisted the roots came from the pipe into the house. I then had my plumber come out to do the repair, and he decided to first try snaking through the toilet which resolved the problem. He had assumed Pardo would have tried this, but decided to try himself before doing anything else. Pardo had not tried to snake from the toilet. I paid my plumber another $100 for this. So I spent $285 on a problem that would have been $100 if Pardo had done the job right. And even worse, if I had listened to him I would have been out over $1300 with a torn up yard and still have a blockage! Id never recommend him or ORHP. ORHP contracts with low quality providers.

Had a plumbing leak in the bathroom wall at a rental condo from a handyman who installed connectors wrong. Pardo and Sons came out when they said they would, and replaced not only the bad connector, but all the faulty connectors the handyman installed before they popped too. It was very clear that they know what they are doing, the plumber we got was Nick. Im posting this review because Nick explained that Pardo and Son is now owned by the son, John, who was nothing if not helpful and polite on the phone. Their pricing was very fair, and lower than the other quotes I got by phone. I was hesitant to call them at first, because they do not have the best reviews, and I tend to check reviews myself before hiring. In this case, they were the only plumber available at very short notice, and Im glad I called them. I asked Nick about the prior reviews I had seen, and he explained that under the old management, Pardo was elderly, and managing the company became difficult for him. The situation today is different under son Johns management, and I think someone needs to note that in a review. I am very happy with the outcome and would not hesitate to call them again for a plumbing repair.

First appointment, plumber was in and out, no leak found, advised we needed the shut off valve replaced to the house. Called to have them replace it, never called back. Scheduled our next appointment for leak detection, we had a slot time from 8-10, at 10 I called and asked status and they said they were tied up at another job, ok, I understand that but they never called to update us, never advised they would not be able to make it, they dont seem to call back ever. Then they advised they only had one person that could work the device and he would be tied up all day, can they reschedule, lost a half days work waiting for them. Rescheduled the next day for 8-12 again, no show, no call back, called multiple times, call was placed on hold and then disconnected. Multiple days taken off to wait for this company that cant seem to show up. Paid for work and they did not complete or show up after waiting 7 hours on two different days. Lost work and time, and now have to wait for another company to come do the work.

We were given a 4 hour window from 12-4. I called at 3:30 to check the status. The lady informed me they were running about 2 hours behind and if that was not ok then I could reschedule for Monday. I told her I could not take another day off to sit around and wait. When the (two) guys finally showed up- they were extremely rude. One even took a personal call and said that he was dealing with a "pain in the ass" situation because the garbage disposal was in his way and he was trying to hurry up and get done. MIND YOU HE WAS THERE BECAUSE WE HAD LOW WATER PRESSURE. he proceeded to BREAK my Faucet handle and create a leak underneath the sink. He said he was running late to a birthday party and someone else would need to come out another day and fix the rest. He was the most rude individual we have ever dealt with. I would NOT recommend them seeing as prior to them coming, at least I could have used my sink.

Had an appointment with a 4 hour window, 8am-12pm. I called at 12:30pm to Get an update but got voicemail. Got a call back 10 minutes later, and he finally got there at 1:15. My Home Warranty didnt cover the water heater expansion valve but still owed the $45 deductible (which was okay). Quoted $45 for the deductible and $175 for the job.... shouldnt the $45 go towards the job? Gave me a "deal" of $200 total. Seems pretty excessive for a $20 Part that took only took 35 minutes from start to finish. He did have to call in the part and have someone bring it to him but that was only another 15-20 minutes. He was gone by 2:25pm. Needless to say, Ive wasted my entire morning and got charged a ridiculous price for an easy fix. Pretty sure I need to change my career because $150 an hour sounds pretty awesome!

I was a little concerned reading the reviews for Pardo & Sons, but they were recommended by one of our neighbors. We took a chance and I am so glad we did. John Pardo III was the one that replaced our water heater. He was very professional. He gave us a great price for the installation and unit (Rheem). He was able to come to our house within hours of talking to him. He cleaned up the area in our garage he was working in. Overall, I would highly recommend them for future hot water heater installs.

John Pardo was doing work (removing a water heater) in a building in which my business is located. He turned the water off to the entire building in the middle of the work day without notifying any of the tenants. When I explained that I have 50 people that need access to rest rooms and the kitchen (it was lunch time) and that he should have warned us first, he said, "F@*k you - I dont have to tell anybody anything. They can wait." Horribly unprofessional.
