Wow! I couldnt be more unhappy with how Ive been treated at Pep Boys on Nine Mile, the last three times Ive went there. The last time I went, was for a tire plug, that took two and a half hours, and even then it wasnt placed right. Guess what I ended up having to fix myself? The second time I went in, is because I needed a cooling fan assembly replaced. They wanted nearly 1700 dollars for something that any regular Joe with a set of ratchets and wrenches couldve done in 2 hours. They said "The part is whats expensive"...again, wrong. I ended up getting so angry that I left because their manager (I believe his name was CD) told me hed call me back with a price on just the part, and Id do it myself. Which he never did. Awful customer service, so I ordered an OEM part for 200 bucks and did it myself. Way to save 1500 bucks. It took me an hour and a half. Now, tonight. I replaced the alternator on a vehicle myself, and took my car in because I figured some new terminals would be nice, corrosion from a previous battery had set in. I told Paul that I wanted Terminals put in, I told him that I had just installed a new alternator and battery. He told me that I needed a new battery because my battery was leaking. Without even looking at my vehicle, or even acknowledging the fact that I got a new battery, and I had been working on a new alternator today, and I just wanted someone to handle a simple task for me, that wouldnt take long. He couldnt even do that without mentioning I needed a new battery. Well, Paul. How would you know that without even looking at the brand new battery I had? How do you know much of anything with the minimal training that the crew at this store has? This location is a blatant embarrassment to Pep Boys. Save your money, spend it somewhere that the "mechanics" actually care about their customers. The worst thing about this company, is that they dont do anything to make their customers negative experiences better. Check out their YELP reviews. Awful shop. Id rather push my car to the next auto service center than have to stop at this Pep Boys again.

There was a clicking sound coming from my back brakes and since they were offering the free brake inspection I went in. They said I needed new brakes which I already knew and charged me $300 to just get the FRONT brakes changed when I was expecting all four. The "mechanic" told me that the clicking was from my suspension and that the fix for that would be a different appointment. Went to vannoys tires after to have my back brakes changed since they were offering it at a cheaper price. The mechanic actually checked my brakes, changed them out, gave me advice, and even drove me out in my own car to show me the effects of the new brakes! Talk about customer service! Never again will I go to a big corporation to get my car serviced. And definitely NOT Pep Boys! "Free brake inspection" also, I brought in my car at 9am and didnt get a call back saying its ready until 7pm. $300+ for that kind of service? These guys are nuts!

Wow, super happy. Went in for a nail in the tire. I knew exactly where the nail was located. The manager let me know there was a 30 minute wait, but he moved equipment around and had my tire off within a couple of minutes. They were honest and showed me through the window exactly where the nail was as they pulled it out (since I already knew it was there, I doubly appreciated the honesty). Did a full and complete patch and said my tires were good. He said they were not ready to be changed, but would give me a great price (and even looked it up for me) when they were ready. Could not believe he did not try to pressure me into getting new tires on the spot and went the extra step to look up details on the spot. I plan to bring both cars back when we need tires to them. I wish every place had people you could trust like the manager CD.

I miss BIG 10 and the service. My family and I have (or had, rather) used them for years. I took my vehicle in for an oil change with my own oil and my own filter. After leaving the store with a new dash sticker, I noticed my oil and filter were still in the back seat. They never even changed my oil! Now, Im experiencing a tire issue where the roadside hazard plan was not offered to me. (I didnt know to ask for it) I have a nail in the side wall of my tire and the tire is practically brand new and the manager wouldnt do anything but quote me a price on a new tire. I called the manager of the other store and hes able to probate the price of new tire with the hazard plan included. I miss the boys from BIG 10.

I took my vehicle to this store for an oil change and a balance and rotate of the tires. I was told it would take 30 minutes, but it took 3 hours. However, the misjudged time is the least of the problems. When my vehicle was returned to me the front tires were out of balance and one tire had a air leak. I submitted a complaint in the Big 10 corporate website, only to have a district manager call me and load me up with a bunch of excuses. Since this is definitely a safety issue I would not advise you to leave your vehicle in the care of this establishment, especially when they do no stand by their work, or their mistakes.

This was one of the worst customer experiences Ive ever had. They made a mistake and the service manager tried to blame the problem on me even though he wasnt there for the initial conversation. Dont go see CD (the service manager). Hell treat you like an idiot instead of taking blame for his own blunders. Not to mention the fact I waited an hour and a half (with an appointment) for their "30 minute oil change". Maybe the techs should work faster instead of sipping on their Cherry Cokes. The customer isnt always right but in this case I was. Pep Boys just lost a long time customer.

Made an appointment for a 9am oil change in person. I had a coupon that I showed the day before and the guy put in that it was 24.99. After getting there right at 9 we proceeded to wait two hours to get an oil change. We were the only ones there, and my car was worked on right away so there is no reason why it shouldve taken 2 hours. After the long wait, I was charged $10 extra and when I asked about it they said thats all they could do. Just save yourself the time and trouble and get your car serviced at Walmart or a local shop.

My girlfriend was on a road trip back toward Baton Rouge, and had a belt brake in her right front tire. The gentlemen at this store stayed late to troubleshoot the tires. He recommended all four tires (which she did replace all four) especially since the old tires were dated. The did find a warp in the right front tire by the way and he gave her a great deal on the tires. Cannot express the gratitude I have for the guys at this shop. Staying an hour after closing. Problem solved also. No more tire issues and car drives great
