Once again Tuffys from Sanford Delivers!! Thank you JR(Owner/operator) for assembly such a fine staff. From Bob and Tom who manage to Caesar who is one of the many fine mechanics there. Caeser is not just fine, he is an incredible mechanic. So her is my story... I have a newer Mercedes(2012) that is still under extended warranty. I will ONLY bring it to Mercedes of North Orlando for warranty work. The reason is they tend to fix things that do not need to be fixed. I had this knocking coming from the front passenger side tire area. Mercedes of North Orlando said it was my struts and that both needed to be replaced at the same time. Price tag?? Approximately $2,400. Because they have failed me in the past I then went to my #1 mechanic. Yup!! Tuffys in Sanford. Caesar diagnosed that the issue was not in fact my strut but the link. This is a bar that runs near the strut. Because I totally trust them, I said, Go ahead and change it. Bottom line?? Issue resolved!! Cost?? $215.00!!!! Oh yeah.... I know what your thinking!!! I DID make a nice THANK YOU VERY MUCH(for nothing!) call to the service manager at Mercedes. Told him I avoided a huge nightmare! I am from the NY/NJ area and take no prisoners when I know I am right. I would have been reimbursed for the $2,400. Many may not have. Though I am sure I would have probably had to call MB HQ to be credited back So there is one nightmare avoided. Along with an additional/potential out of pocket expense of ($2,400-$215) $2,185!! Thanks again Tuffys!!! You are the best!! The below didnt seem to post when I originally submitted it some time ago. Must be at least a year or so. Today I am posting another great experience from last month. That review you just read, above. **This review from over a year ago for my 2003 Mercedes-----> I recently moved to FL from the NY metro area. I had a great mechanic up there and thought I would never find one who could compare. Well, not only did I find one who compares but this Tuffys location in Sanford is even better!. JR(the owner) and his staff are incredible. They are 100% honest and will not steer(no pun intended...lol) you wrong. I also recommend you make it a point to ask them to look over your car for other issues when you are there. Thank God I did. My water pump was going bad very quickly. This could be seen by watching my radiator fan wobble like a bent wheel. If they had not caught this I would have very well broken down somewhere. In addition my radiator fan would have eventually hit my radiator. This would have cost me MUCH more money, not to mention the cost to be towed. I cant say enough about how great this place IS. Honest, dependable, reasonable rates.....you WILL NOT be disappointed.

Easter weekend my family drove to Orlando in two vehicles to spend some time at the parks. While driving down on Thursday we noticed a clicking sound in my Mazda 3. We have used Tuffy at home for about 10 yrs and love the service we receive so we found this Tuffy down here in Sanford to take our vehicle to. When we found out it was our CV joints and received a quote for over 600.00 we called our regular mechanic (Brian in Pensacola) to discuss the quote with him. He looked up the parts needed (per our quote) and informed us we were overcharged by 200.00. We told the manager no thank you we will go elsewhere. When asked why we told him he was overcharging. He asked us what other quote we received and we told him 400.00 with parts and labor and he said "Well we will do it for that then." So we left our vehicle and they replaced the CV joints, no problem...or so we thought. I drive back and forth to Orlando from Pensacola every week because I work in Orlando. A week later, on Sunday, after I left Pensacola, my husband called to tell me there was oil on the garage floor and I need to check my oil when I arrive in Orlando. I did and it was fine. I drove back to Pensacola on Thursday and as I pulled off the interstate 2 miles from home my cars transmission light came on and I couldnt get the car to go above 30 mph. I started smelling a burning smell so I pulled over immediately and called my husband. After discovering I had NO transmission fluid in the car, we bought some and put it in and drove to our regular Tuffy. When Brian put my car up on the rack he said he was amazed my car didnt catch on fire. The entire undercarriage had transmission fluid burnt all over the exhaust and thrown everywhere. They had to degrease the undercarriage and wash it before working on it. He showed us where it came from leaking seals where the other Tuffy in Sanford didnt seal them properly. He had us take pictures and file a complaint AFTER we called the Sanford Tuffy to discuss this with them. They were not interested in hearing what we had to say and instead said they did nothing wrong. Brian completed all the work that day to fix my car and didnt charge us a thing.

Wanted to give Tuffy’s a good review, but just can’t do it in view of the facts. First time going there, so I called first to check on the price for an oil change and tire rotation and to see if I needed to make an appointment. A “Mike” answered the phone and said it would be $17.95, but since my vehicle took 6 qts of oil it would be $23.95 plus tax. He said if I was going to wait for it I should make an appointment, so I gave him all the information he asked for and made the appointment for later on that afternoon. Arrived for the appointment on time and told the tech behind the counter that I spoke to Mike earlier and made an appointment. He checks the computer and says…”oh, we don’t have anything on you…but don’t worry, we can work you in.” Oh, OK..where’s Mike? Oh he left for the day. After this, I figured I better verify the price, so I gave the tech my vehicle info, engine size, etc and told him that “Mike” said it was $23.95 plus tax for the oil change and tire rotation. “No problem, we’ve got you covered,” says the tech and writes me up for $23.95. Ok. Fifteen minutes later he comes back and asks me if I want my tires rotated….UH, yeah, for the THIRD time now, rotate the tires. They get it done in about 45 minutes, not bad, but as I’m about to pay, the tech says, “oh your vehicle took 6 quarts so I’m gonna have to charge you for an extra one.” Wait, WHAT? First I get the 6-qt price over the phone from Mike at $23.95, then I confirm it with the tech before he even starts the job, NOW he wants to squeeze me for an extra quart? Sorry fellas, I’m done. It’s the principle of it. Next time I’ll try Pep Boys across the street.

Took my car their so it could be put in the machine, to see if they could tell me what was wrong with it. they told me theyll charge me $80. I said okay cool. Went to go check my car, they said car would not turn on, mind you I brought the car running. They said they work on the car 2 hours figuring out to see if it was electrical. Which was NOT the case they wanted to charge $100 per hour, yes!!! Crazy cuz that not why i brought the car their. Story short i paid $200 when i was told $80 BUT thats not even the Bad part they return my car Worse than what I had brought the car, they literally did some dirty trick to F*** it up even more. The the owner JR talking about how honest and fair and how he never lies, man you out of your dam mind if your fair i should of paid what i was told from the beginning. Karma is a B**** though it will come back to you. After i paid they said it was the head gasket, they said it will be over 2,000 LMFAO went to a real mechanic and he said tuffy is a joke for crack heads. The place i took my car now said *** IF**** its the head gasket will do it all for $550
