*** Beware of their shady tactics! Thieves! Incompetent!! *** Rented a U-Haul for 2 days for set price. Unbeknownst to us, we were charged quadruple the price with made up charges. We disputed charges with an employee who said hed take care of it, and we were satisfied with the refund of mistake. Then on a Saturday we were debited over $418.00. We went to Compass to ask the person working the front desk, Kevin, why was this charged. With a dumb look and a mumble of saying "I dont know what youre talking about," Kevin handed us the telephone number to the regional U-Haul manager. I made him call him and we spoke to a very helpful man. He said he saw that charge and tried to refund it for us due to the mistake. Since it was a Saturday, he said U-Haul was closed and couldnt get the money for us. I was only able to get assistance from the credit union. Anyway, U-Haul manager said, "Kevin" was the one who processed the order. When confronted, Kevin shook and couldnt give us a straight answer. The U-Haul manager by phone told us he was told to close the account with "ZEROS" meaning no money is to be taken out! *** Kevin made up charges of 228 miles at .89 cents a mile. Plus made up $39.00 usage fees and $79.00 misc fees. *** We only had the truck for 2 days and moved 1.5 miles at 3 trips and filled the tank at 5/8s of a tank gimmick. *** Stay away!! Go to U-Haul on US41 or elsewhere. These people will scam you and give you no customer service. Kevin will stare off into space and mumble due to his inability to comprehend simple tasks. Save yourself the headache and use a reputable place. Compass cant even keep track of their own inventory. They claimed we had an outstanding truck 4 days after we returned it and dropped the keys in the night drop off box. Do yourself a favor, stay far, far, far, far, far away! ******** Beware ******** Beware *******

We rented a moving truck from Compass Self Storage. Before I returned the truck we got fuel from the gas station right next door the storage. When we returned the truck the receptionist was talking to someone. After waiting around, we told the gentleman that we are here to return the vehicle. We offered him to come and check the truck and the gas level out. He said "Its fine, just leave the key here". So we did. The next day I realized that they charged me for $50 for gas. When my husband contacted the storage, the receptionist argued that there was no gas in the truck. We told him that we will provide him the receipt from the gas station. He was straight out laughing at us. My husband called the main number for U-HAUL where he was advised that they will help us refund the money but we will have to check with the storage again which we did with no luck. The receptionist was very rude and didnt want to hear about any refund. The same afternoon my husband went there personally and found a new receptionist, who agreed to give us a refund but needed my credit card number. Since my husband couldnt provided to him, I tried to call the receptionist back, but he didnt answer the phone. Since they are suppose to be opened until 6pm, I went there straight form work, got there at 5:40pm but at that point no one was there. It is very disappointing that we were treated this way because one of the employees was to lazy to get up and do his work.

gm mike worked with me to correct a situation so i would change my bad review and now i am satisfied with the facility and would recommend them . But then,,,, the discount price he said i would get was $206.86 to no i said $226.86 then he forgets to put in in the computer for a month so my price was high (with a late fee because as a disabled vet and my ssi check was late and try living on $600/month and catching up,) so i payed $280/MONTH for a outdoor non climate10x20. now if they honored the great 1 month free coupon i printed and gave them and was told " yes you will receive a free month " to when said ssi mishap i called to redeem magical coupon to here "sorry we dont do that any more" to now once again seeing them advertise it. i talked to a gentleman renting on my row paying only $217!!. if you stay local then you might be safe if you are leaving the state DO NOT USE THEM!!!! This month once again my discount was not on my bill and i am sick of every other month having to call this place that i flew from ohio to florida to get my stuff out of these crooks unit and did it at night because i am so pissed i would of beat the s,,t out of him. i contacted the bbb with audio recordings and emails to show the price gouging they do when they can and how magical coupons disappear,,, AND THEY OWE ME $40 FOR THIS DISCOUNT HERO DID NOT PUT IN THE COMPUTER AGAIN! this was my experience. and i give 0 stars...

Nervous about welcome letter rent $129 and contract rent $110. Called to ask for a correction and got, "Dont worry about it. We have been asking corporate to fix this mistake for a while now. You will see the correct amount on your statement." I want a corrected letter now, but told to wait for statement. Asked for phone of corporate office and got phone for district manager instead. Will start calling on Monday. Is Compass Storage going to be my new hobby?

I moved to Sarasota from out of state. I called ahead because I was running late due to traffic on I75. Justin told me he would wait for me even though I would not arrive until after their office hours closed. He was there when I arrived, he rented me a storage unit and I was able to leave the UHaul truck with them. Justin went out of his way to help me. The storage facility is new and clean. It was well lit at night and I felt safe. Thank you! Thank you!

Moving from Ohio to Florida was a very big change. We put our belongings in this facility until we found our home. The Mgr. and his employees were more than helpful. They made the move more fun and most importantly we felt our belongings were safe. The facility was clean and bright. Each one of them always met us with a smile and were extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend this facility.

UHAUL CUSTOMERS BEWARE. I returned a truck Saturday night after hours. Received an invoice for an extra day Monday morning stating that the truck had just been returned. Compass Self Storage rep was very unprofessional and confrontational. Had to contact Uhaul for a refund. Apparently this is an ongoing occurrence for this site. RENT AND RETURN YOUR TRUCK ELSEWHERE.

Awesome service from Scott and Justin. I felt very welcomed the moment I stepped into the office. I was greeted by both employees that took the time to stand up and welcome me to Compass. I rented a U Haul truck as well as a storage unit from them and they made it easy. Will recommend Compass to friends and family that need storage or a U Haul truck.
