For starters, BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Unfortunately, the worst thing that any computer owner could experience happened to me… water damage. :-( While working on my 13” MacBook Air, a glass of water spilled onto my keyboard and it died immediately. I panicked and since this happened on a Sunday morning, my apprehension increased two-fold since I knew most computer places would be closed. I jumped in the car and drove directly to Best Buy where several members of the “Geek Squad” gave me the dire news. My computer, they explained, was damaged beyond repair and there was no hope for retrieving any data. This dire news rolled off their tongue with ease and with seemingly no concern for the tears suddenly streaming down my face. However, one member advised that I take my computer to FloridaPro first thing Monday morning since they were the only authorized Mac retailer in the city. I was in the parking lot the next day 30 minutes before they opened. As soon as they opened I rushed in and was immediately greeted by the receptionist LeighAnn. She showed genuine concern for my situation and patiently listened to everything I had to say. She assured me that they had a great track record with fixing water damaged laptops. Unfortunately, none of the technicians were in but LeighAnn made some calls and despite it being his day off, Thomas came in. He took my computer apart and started the “clean and dry” process. LeighAnn called and provided me with constant updates and patiently answered my many calls providing comforting assurances just as she had done when I first walked in. I returned to FloridaPro the very next day and talked to Ben. I expressed how important it was to retrieve my data since I had been working on completing my dissertation. He immediately went to see if the SSD was damaged and informed me that everything was intact. Since I was worried, he took the time to save a copy of the dissertation to my external hard drive. Once I knew my data was safe, I was able to relax and didn’t feel the need to stress any further. On Thursday, they informed me that my computer was ready and that the “clean and dry” process had worked! :-) More specifically, there was no water damage to my MacBook air! The entire process only cost me $50 and came with a 30 day warranty. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND ANYONE WITH COMPUTER PROBLEMS TO TAKE IT TO FLORIDAPRO!!!! I know this is a long review, but I hope it eases the mind of anyone who is currently panicking because somehow their laptop ended up covered in water. There is still hope!

A word of caution. My background: Mechanical engineer with strong background in electronics and computer applications. Started building and repairing my own computers as a hobby. My preference and familiarity are PCs but I am no stranger to Macs. My problem: My mother-in-laws 2013 macbook pro which would not boot. After running all the available diagnostics and tests I suspected the hard drive was failing but figured if there was any chance to recover that a repair shop may have other options. Customer Service: Great customer service. I didnt get the opportunity to interact with a technician but the receptionist was extremely pleasant and helpful. Repair estimate: Im certainly glad the diagnostic was free because the email I received with the diagnosis and repair quote boggled my mind. They confirmed that the hard drive was failing. Their recommended course of action was a new hard drive and they offered to try and recover the data form the old hard drive. My issues: The quote for hard drive replacement with re-installation of the operating system was $350!!! The quote for the data recovery was $150!!! My solution: I picked up the macbook, got on amazon and purchased a hard drive (higher performance and much newer than the old one) for $60. A few screws out of the back and I was able to swap out the hard drives. The I performed a re-installation of the operating system over the internet (so easy with the Macs). All total it cost me $60 and an hour of my time. Most of that time spent sitting on my hands waiting for the operating system to install. To charge $350 is OUTRAGEOUS!!! As far as data recovery is concerned I have an external docking bay for internal hard drives. Recovering the data takes some technical knowledge but is quite simple. I would still call the $150 dramatically steep. My conclusion: How convenient that all the repairs came to $500 exactly. I dont use this word lightly but this place is a ripoff. Cost of my own repair: -replacement drive, $60 from amazon with a 3 year waranty -precision screwdriver set with torx bits, $7 at walmart -youtube video on internet re-installation of Mac OS X, free -1 hour of my own time, 30 minutes spent eating lunch while OS X installed Cost of data recovery: -external docking bay, $30 on amazon -another hour of my time

I can not express how wonderful this company is. If I could give them 5 stars an infinite amount of times I would. While their services can be a bit pricey, they are hands down the BEST repair shop to go to in Tallahassee. Let me explain why: I originally dropped my mid-2013 Macbook Air and shattered the LCD. I took my laptop in to get it fixed on a Thursday afternoon and--$600 later--had a fully functioning and perfectly operational macbook on FRIDAY afternoon! I was amazed at how quickly they ordered the part and got my repair done. About a week later, my laptop started to act extremely slow, the fans started whirring up, and on my activity monitor I noticed a kernal panic consuming more than 600% of my CPU. I took my laptop back into FloridaPro and they took a look at it and offered a repair for FREE since I had just used their services. Unfortunately, the fix they offered never solved my problem, so I brought in my laptop again. Once again, they fixed the problem for free. A couple of days later the same problem returned and I brought my laptop into the shop once again. This cycle of frustration repeated for almost a month. FloridaPro dedicated almost a month of labor to me FOR FREE--their costumer service is truly astonishing. Unfortunately, after the replacement of my laptops logic board (a $350 dollar repair--which they even called Apple so they could get a discount for me), the problem still persisted. FloridaPro then decided to FULLY REFUND my logic board, and would help refund half of the LCD I paid for earlier the month as well. They then helped sell my computer for parts and offered to provide free data migration to my newly purchased Macbook Pro. I honestly could not be more happy with my experience at FloridaPro. They elegantly and respectfully dealt with one of the most frustrating computer issues I have every seen, and even after they failed to fix the problem, they went above and beyond to help me get my money back and sell my laptop. I now recommend them to everyone I know and I insist if you have any computer issues, GO TO FLORIDAPRO!

I initially went in for a trackpad that was moving and zooming in erratically. The problem had been occurring each time I used the computer, but the technicians at the store could not seem to replicate the issue when I dropped it off. They returned the computer to me, and as soon as I got home the problem came back. I took a video of the issue as soon as it started again, took it in , and showed it to Drew. He took that as evidence of the problem, and upon further inspection (they didnt look at the trackpad initially because they couldnt replicate the issue), the trackpad was indeed in need of replacing. I was thankful they did not try to find a problem when they could not replicate the issue, and appreciated Drews time as he stopped what he was doing and worked with me on the issue. The service was quick, honest, and efficient. I could have done the repair myself for significantly cheaper, but why when you could pay more for way less risk and Apple-Certified work? I did find one of the receptionists a bit cold, but it didnt hinder the process of my repair. I recommend them highly!
