Mixed feelings on this place, went today with some friends from work and had a less than expected result. First time eating here, as I was in line to select my sides, I specifically asked were the green beans fresh and the young girl replied "oh yes, they are definitely fresh" well, didnt realize she meant fresh out of a can, not what I would expect for the price and for what it looks like 4R is going for. Three of my friends ordered the same thinking they were fresh, none of us ate them. I ordered the Brisket sandwich, overall it was decent though compared to a lot of smokehouses in the Kansas City and St. Louis areas, it left some to be desired, average AT BEST serving size, definitely more bread than meat and it had a substantial amount of fat, at least a third of the sandwich, two of my friends had better results, probably a fluke on my part. Though where things took a turn is when I thought I would surprise my family with take home and decided to get two slices of Oreo cake and a large cream filled chocolate chip cookie, they looked the part, though immediately when getting home, all three were very stale. The cake was exceptionally dry and didnt seem nearly as fresh as I expected, we didnt finish any of the three - $15 wasted for deserts. One of my friends bought a slice of carrot cake and immediately made the comment that it tasted okay, though nothing special. I think this place is likely better than the individual experience I had, I plan to give it another chance at some point, just without the deserts.

Hello BBQ! 4Rivers Smokehouse is a bar-b-que lovers heaven. Tons of food, plenty of desserts, and drinks to go around. Everything is served in cafeteria style from a line. The place is open-concept with tables at the center, a soda bar at the entrance, a nice airy patio area, and an open fridge to pick your own bottled drinks. Come early however, definitely during lunch time, if youre not keen on being served food thats been sitting a while. The meat is always good, and the sides pack that little punch every meal needs. Old photographs of old Tampa surround its customers making the place feel homey and full of history. Suggestions from their menu: Texas Sausage, or The Longhorn, Smoked Chicken Wings, BBQ Baked Beans (a must try), Red Velvet, or Banana Foster

I was super excited to try 4 rivers since I went to one in Jacksonville...sad to say it was super UNDERWHELMING...the employee that was helping me with my order looks like she didnt want to be at work and her attitude showed the same. So then I get my food and my food was cold.. not even a slight bit warm...but seeing as how I had my 3 kids and husband who were with me I didnt want to make a fus. I would love to come back of they can get some friendlier faces and hot food. Also the mac and cheese tasted like it was boxed. But other than that just ok. Guess Ill have to go back to Jacksonville to get the good 4rivers..

Best BBQ in Tampa. They should make this food illegal because its just as bad as crack cocaine, its so good. Im not even going to bother to go much into the menu because everything is good - the brisket, chicken, chicken wings, sausage and burnt ends. You can ask for a sample if you want to try the meat of first. Youre biggest problem will be deciding what to go with. For the sides, try the jalapeno poppers! Dont get me started on the desert, geez! My only knock is the price - it can get expensive but when youre hold that mantle as the best, and can back it up, I guess you dont have to pass out that many coupons lol

Placed an order for delivery through UberEats and for some reason the order was not delivered. Called the restaurant and the young lady who answered my call couldnt care less about the order. She told me my problem was with UberEats not them. I explained that it was their responsibility to make sure that the order was delivered. She rudely disagreed told me to go back to the app to get help. I tried nicely to explain that she was wrong. She wanted nothing to do with me and hung up. Needless to say I will be posting this unfortunate incident to every review site I can find. Reckless disregard for customers.

I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with bbq beans and fries. I was 7th in line, it didnt take long to order but everyone in front of me had already ordered and all of our food was ready but it took forever to cash out, no customers were holding up the line so there is some slow down with cashier... All my food is lukewarm at best, the bbq beans are okay, French fries are about the same as the Oreida fries I buy at the grocery store, the pulled pork tastes similar to sloppy Joe mix... Im not impressed, the smokehouse smell is awesome ambiance but at least what I ordered was disappointing in contrast.

4 Rivers offers counter service only. I got there just before the large lunchtime crowd, otherwise it would have been a 15 minute wait. Plenty of seating inside and out but theres a lot of folks who go there for lunch, so pack some patience to stand in line. I had the Tri-Tip Wedge Salad ($8.99)- 4 slices of Tri-Tip beef with a wedge of Iceberg lettuce, grape tomatoes, scallions, bacon bits, with Ranch dressing and a Bleu Cheese crumble. It was the just right combination of beef and vegetables and a good balance of flavors for a lunch time meal. Counter and dining room staff are friendly.

BBQ is something many restaurants do, and typically dont do well. 4 Rivers Smokehouse knows how to do BBQ! I had the pulled pork and it was full of flavor. I noticed the meat was not fatty, which is rare from a restaurant dish. I had the bake beans, mac and cheese, and potato salad. All three of the side dishes I had were amazing! The potato salad was flavored well and not heavy. The other side dishes were beyond flavorful. I strongly recommend this place for anyone seeking good BBQ. The others in my group had the ribs and spoke highly of the flavor and tenderness.

The meat is very nicely done and the sauce is pretty good. Tins of drink choices. The sides are plentiful and a few of them are inventive. I was a little underwhelmed at the execution of the sides but that may have been just this night (based on other glowing reviews). The desserts looked good. My plate had lots of food for the money, some people at my table had smaller sides, not sure Id feel the same if I had their choices. I would eat here again but is not the best BBQ Ive had.

My first time their was pretty good!! I was excited to have a new BBQ place to love. However, tonight I went and the experience was no where near stellar. The sliced was pork was very fatty. The food line was very frazzled, having to tell the cashier several times what are side were and the Oreo cake was terribly dry:((( Although, The young lady who was working the tables was very friendly and informative. Just letting you know.
