Possible I can give a zero star. This place is a rip off and dont be fooled by a plush couch and professional atmosphere. My first visit was 2 months back to fix the exhaust shield guard in my Toyota Highlander which they quoted $250 to fix, I fixed it for $50 else where. I thought I saved my hard earned money then. Second visit was to fix a shuddering feel while driving and I found my driver side wheel was getting hotter as I drove when compared to other wheels. It was said there was rust and they need to clean. I thought that is going to be fixed front and rear wheel (which did not have any problem) and they quoted $112.12 I approved it. When picking up the final amount was $ 230.00 with a $30 discount else it would have been $260.00. When asked just for cleaning $260 with no spares changed? They say it is for two wheels, what was not told to me was the out of the door amount to be charged. Outrageous. This time I lost my money which I thought I saved earlier. When the car was delivered the carbon dust still on the allow wheels was also not cleaned with finger prints all around the wheel. However did it fix the issue? NO. The front wheel was still getting heated while driving. Went again to reassess this time the quote was $960.00 to change the calipers only, should I call it outrageous or something else I dont know. I replaced the calipers, pads machined the rotors, fixed my faulty air pressure gauge for $540.00 out of the door in a neighboring facility with warranty on my pads. My SUV is just fantastic now. Their per hours wages are $112 for just cleaning which I think it might be the highest in the country. If it is engine work I understand wages are higher. However end of the day I am still the loser having paid $230.00 extra which is just waste of money. Please note people who live in WestChase are here because not that they are filthy rich who spend without rationale, but wanted a good quality of life, good schools & safe family environment. Please be rational.

A sad fact of daily automotive commerce is that many dealers and repair shops have a reputation lower than whale poop. In my experience, many of these facilities prey on the ignorance of the customer and intentionally or not, lack effective communication around something that is vitally important to all of us—safe and reliable transportation. As consumers, we wind up at their mercy, which is often and regrettably dominated by a lack of ethics, competence and what is just plain right and decent. This, however, is NOT the case at Christian Brothers Automotive in New Tampa, where owner Marty La Barbera and his team are reversing that trend one customer at a time. I am pleased, relieved and grateful to give this facility my wholehearted, 100 percent endorsement and recommendation. I’d tell anyone to take their vehicle to Christian Brothers in New Tampa for whatever service—major or minor—is needed. I base this on my own experience involving two older, high mileage cars. With the economy as it is, I’ve found it necessary to keep my two Honda CRVs on the road longer than is typical. In particular, I want my wife’s car to be safe, reliable and comfortable. Issues come up with vehicles having 180,000+ miles on them but all of these have been remedied in a fair and competent way at Christian Brothers Automotive; Marty is out to make the living to which he’s entitled, but he’s not at all interested in picking my pocket; he’s always done whatever is necessary to assure I am heard and satisfied. What a concept. I trust Christian Brothers Automotive in New Tampa and at last am especially grateful for having found an automotive repair service upon which I can rely and be comfortable. The guy is fair and honest; don’t go anywhere else.

I attend school out of state and my parents are back home. This is the second time in 3 weeks that my car has been in the shop and the first place we went to (Auto Pro) didnt even scratch the surface on what was going on with my car. I needed a new alternator, battery AND belt. I also had a small oil leak. Christian Brothers did a great job of communicating with my mom and making sure that we knew exactly what needed to be done and how to take care of my car as its getting older (a 2004 jeep wrangler). They were super nice and when a part they ordered didnt come in when they expected it to, they made sure to call and let us know, and apologized for it when it wasnt even their fault! I definitely felt better with my car going to a Christian Brothers shop because thats where we go back home (in TN). Its nice to know that the name and reputation of the shop is upheld no matter the location! My car is running better than when I got it and I feel confident that I am going to call this shop first before any other.

New to the area and a previous customer of Christian Brothers in Frisco, TX, this place was my first thought when my AC wasnt blowing cold consistently. To my surprise, this location was no comparison to Frisco, Txs location. Christian Brothers in Tampa diagnosed my car to need a new air compressor and provided an expensive quote over $1,200. I knew there was no way I was going to pay that, so I picked my car up. I took my car to Central Radiator & Auto Air in Tampa, paid a $20 AC check fee, and was told my compressor was fine, but the Thermal Expansion Valve needed to be replaced. I authorized the repair and was out the door well below $200. Two months later, I still have cold air and the other $1,000 Christian Brothers in New Tampa tried charging me. My advise is to stay away from these guys. Either they dont know what they are doing to diagnose what is wrong accurately or they are crooked and quote you for a high price repair when a low price repair is only needed.

I have been dealing with automotive repair shops my whole life like all the rest of us. And we all know that it is extremely hard to find shops that provide honest and reliable service. Christian Brothers has been one of those "Diamond in the roughs" for me. I have been there(New Tampa location) several times lately and each and every time they have gone above and beyond my expectations to provide me with excellent all around service. They say what they mean and they do what they say. They have driven me right to my front door while my car was being repaired. They even through me a freebie "transmission flush". Oops I am not sure if I was supposed to mention that. Oh Well! Lol. I highly recommend these guys. They are honest, very reliable and best of all, they operate in integrity & honor and that is a hard characteristic to find these days. I know youll be impressed! Ask for Greg or Marty(Owner). They wont let you down...

Awful. I took my car there for a serpentine belt that burned up. My AC compressor had locked up. They wanted $2500 to replace a tensioner pulley and my entire AC system because it was leaking all over. I came to pick it up and have it towed to my main mechanic. He told me to buy a reman AC compressor from ebay and hell throw it in there for $350-400. My oil pan was also cracked after being diagnosed here but I have no recollection of hitting anything. I will never go to this place ever again. Edit: After the fact, I was reached out to via email and a more thorough answer was given. The owner and I were able to talk back and forth. We made a gentlemans agreement that if my AC was still working fine in six months, theyd refund me the diagnostic charge. Five months later, its still working like a charm so I hope to collect next month.
