After I took my girl out to eat at a steakhouse, my car began smoking out of nowhere. I stopped and was able to pull up at the Advance Auto Parts store where they told me it was a thermostat problem. i left the car there over night so I could go to a mechanic the next day. I tried to closest auto repair shop that charged me $95 just to diagnose, I needed to save as much money as possible because I was from out of town, which is 3 hours away from Tampa. I looked up on Google and saw a lot of good reviews on the Mad Hatter service center so I called and told him what the scenario was, he advised me to stop the car and let it cool down every time it heated up while I was driving there. After finally making it, the front desk person was very polite and the whole place seemed very customer-oriented. They were able to tell me the full problem, the relayer itself was also messed up and that required for me to leave the car overnight because they get those parts directly from Honda. The next day i was dropped off there and the same front desk man was there and reassured me that they would take care of it, they fixed a blasted hose for free, filled a gallon of antifreeze, replaced the relayer and thermostat, and did a full diagnostic all for a relatively low price. Before I left, the mechanic advised me to keep a gallon of antifreeze with me just in case. And so, I prepared for my 3 1/2 hour drive back to home, paranoid of any issues. Fortunately, the car ran perfectly and it seems like it is fully functional again. I HIGHLY recommend this place for any auto maintenance or repair needs. I will definitely visit again.

I brought my car in for an oil change and because the "check engine" light was on. They did a FREE diagnostic check and told me exactly what needed to be repaired and how much it would cost. Excellent customer service, friendly employees, trustworthy, great prices, very fair, and short wait time. They are honest, and will NOT try to sell you something you do not need, nor pad the bill. In previous repair shops, I felt taken advantage of, by being a woman, and for my lack of knowledge about car repairs. But at Mad Hatter, they took the time to explain everything to me in detail and did not try to pressure me into anything. As a courtesy, they even got on the cell phone with my husband and explained everything to him as well. Will definately be returning for ALL of my car needs and repairs. My husband brings his car in as well, for oil changes and repairs (muffler, etc) and is equally as happy with service. My dad is a mechanic, but lives out of state, and he was always concerned about me finding a good auto repair shop that I can trust and that would do great work for a fair price. He will be happy and relieved that I found exactly that in Mad Hatter! Will recommend to everyone who needs auto service!

I had an oil leak issue on my old Chevy truck. Brought it to Mad Hatter because their reviews were very good. This shop did not disappoint. Not only did they fix the leak, but they also tuned and timed the engine while they had it. The day they told me to come pick up the vehicle I showed up and started the vehicle and immediately felt something wrong with the way the truck was running. They told me that they had not experienced the same thing when they were test driving it earlier that day. Normally this would warrant some negativity in a review; however, they jumped on it immediately and found that the truck had more timing issues. One of the workers even gave me a ride home once I found out I had to leave the truck. This additional problem they fixed free of charge and apologized for the inconvenience, which to me made up for having to wait an extra day to pick the vehicle up. Since that time I have gone back to Mad Hatter and asked questions about different little problems and they always help me out quickly. They have advised me on stuff I can do myself as well, without charging me for the consultation. I definitely recommend Mad Hatter Auto Service for your auto repair needs.

These days its hard to find a shop you can trust. With so many YouTube videos showing you how shops and major chains can scam you. So I was pleasantly surprised by the buzz I heard about Mad Hatter so I had to see them myself. Very friendly. Very knowledgeable. Very open. It was great when I came in for some work (to replace the lower control arms) and they were upfront about what they would need to do, and quoted me a price that was right and explained all the steps needed. They scheduled a time for me to come back and was happy when they called me in earlier then expected. Best thing is they are not like your major chains where they try to up sell you on anything or look for extra costs to tack on. You tell them what the problem is and they make sure that is what you need and then execute that, quickly and correctly. The only downside is the hours. 9-5 M-F and they do try to work with you on scheduling, but to be at a shop I can trust & know the work was performed and done right, Im willing to take time out from work to see them.

I was at Mad Hatter Auto Services this morning for an oil change and Nick who runs the place was so nice to me. The price for an oil change is very reasonable. I just forgot to ask Nick what oil was used. Since I have a corolla I hope it was synthetic oil. Please advise. Anyways, I also put a great review on their business website as well. I didnt want to go to my dealership for an oil change since they are so expensive, want a reservation, and always want me to fix something on my car whether it may need it or not. Was not hassled at this place what so ever. Great service. Those that live in Tampa go to this place you wont be disappointed. Thanks again Nick and to your employee who worked on my car. Also, for showing me where to put the washer fluid in my car since I wasnt sure.

This shop is a scam. I brought my Suv to be repaired and they almost destroyed my vehicle by putting the wrong part in my car. Then when I brought it back in Nick kept telling me that I would have to take to the dealer because he didnt know what was wrong with my vehicle. Once I took my car for a second opinion found out it had the wrong part put in camshaft. I had my truck fixed correctly from another shop due to inexperience they have at this shop. The best thing about this was I went to talk to Nick about what they did wrong and ask for a refund due to it wasnt even 30 Days they tried to repair my truck. They refused to give me anything and they messed up my truck rather than fixed it. HORRIBLE WAY TO DO BUSINESS WITH A NEW CUSTOMER.
