Went in for oil change. Asked TJ (guy at counter) to double check the battery, because Im going on a trip. He said "No Problem, Its part of the Courtesty check". I got a call from Firestone about 30 mins later, and they said the battery is bad and I need to replace it. They tried to sell me the battery over the phone and wanted to install it for $7.50. I said no, and not to do it. I went to pick up my car. Paid for the oil change and went to Advance Auto Parts. The batteries their are priced at regular retail, and I can install the battery myself. They checked the battery, and it tested good. The guy gave me a printout and it read they tested at 600CCA, which is the size of my battery. I took my car back to Firestone, and Angel (another guy at the counter) retested my battery. The prinout he gave me showed that it tested bad. I asked him why it would test bad. He wouldnt give me a straight answer. When I showed him the printout from Advance, he sighed, and went back inside. I went home, checked my records, and found my receipt for the battery and it was only 8 months old. I went to Autozone across the street from my house for a 3rd opinion. Autozones test came back that the battery was good. Firestone tried to sell me a battery that I did not need. Also, went to check engine coolant before my trip, and it was almost empty. My "courtesy check" was supposd to check the coolant level. The tech marked the "ok" box, but it was clearly not ok. I had to fill it up before I left on my trip. Firestone is not to be trusted. Ive been going their for 3 years now with 2 vehicles every 3-4 months. They have lost a loyal customer over a battery and a $7.50 serv charge. What a disappointment. Counter guys - TJ, Angel.. My wife and I spent Fourth of July weekend in the Tampa area this year; first cause we were in the market for a new-used car, which we were grateful to find and secondly, cause our beloved Detroit Tigers were in town for a four game series with the Rays. After pulling the trigger on our dream car that Saturday, I chose to have a full-synthetic oil change done at the Westshore Firestone Sunday morning on both our cars. The fellas on shift that morning let me know the wiper blades on our new car were no longer serviceable and promptly ordered us a new set that I tried to install later that day, and would have had the the missing component come with the blades. Although an additional set of blades were ordered for us, my wife I didnt make it out of the ballgame until it was nearly closing time at Firestone. Long story short, I called the establishment and told em I wouldnt keep them at work any longer than they had to, especially on the eve of Independence Day when they offered to drop the wiper blade fixture off at the counter of the Holiday Inn my wife and I were staying- we were happy to oblige and appreciated the gesture. In the unlikely event I need another oil change in Tampa, the Firestone on Westshore will have our patronage, and it will probably be because of this simple act. Thanks.

Upon leaving an office visit I discovered a screw sticking out of my tire. Knowing it wouldnt get better by itself I drove to Firestone which was close by. The tire was inspected and because of the location of the screw (on the side of the tire) it was likely unrepairable and would have to be replaced. I approved the replacement and was given some options. I asked that they rotate the tires while they had the car on the lift as well. A little while later the shop manager came by and handed me my keys and said the car was ready. They were able to remove the screw, and because it was imbedded in the tread, and not the sidewall, the tire was fine and did not need to be replaced. I appreciate their honesty in not replacing the tire, even after I authorized it. Also because I had a set of Firestone tires (not bought there) they did the rotation for free. Total bill for services rendered $0.00. Thanks again Firestone for doing the right thing when no one was looking.

I came in for a new tire at 2:30 and was told it would be done by 4pm. At 5pm, my car had not moved from the parking lot, so I walked up to the counter to ask about it. I was then told by the same person that it would not be done until 7pm! I made an appointment for the next day and still ended up waiting almost 3 hours from my appointment time. I understand that things happen, but I was the only person in the waiting room for over an hour and had the front desk employee staring at me the entire time. They never bothered to tell me that it would be done three hours after the time they originally gave me until I asked. I am also pretty sure they overcharged me. Also, obviously tried to tell me all of these things were wrong with my car that werent. Total of 6 hours waiting on two different days and I was still overcharged. Will definitely not be going there again.

Left daughters tire to be replaced. Paid up front. Never got a call back. When I called to follow up they said the tire came in but when they called the person said the tire was too expensive and they didnt want it. I had already paid!! When they finally got the new tire on and called us we were told we had not paid for the tire up front. Turns out they were looking at the wrong customers records It was on the receipt??? Asked them to put the spare back in its place under the rear. They said they had. Daughter left and the first place she stopped someone told her the spare was hanging down and she needed to get somewhere to have it put in correctly. Geez. I dont write reviews but this was just too ridiculous. Extremely poor service. Go somewhere else.

My car overheated at 6pm and fortunately, I was near this Firestone store. I pulled in as they were about to close and spoke with Marcel. He was wonderfully helpful, and actually advised me to go to the dealer and save money since it was an engine issue that would be covered under my warranty. He locked my car up overnight, free of charge, until it could be towed to the dealer the next morning. Marcel was thoughtful, courteous and concerned for my safety as a single woman, stranded in Tampa in the dark. I have had perfectly good experiences with this Firestone Store in the past with tire changes and such, but this extended courtesy and helpful hand was a Godsend at an anxious time. Thank you Marcel; I nominate you for Employee of the Month!!

Be careful here. I go to several Firestones in the Tampa Bay area, these guys are shady. Had 150k on my truck, took it in for new tires. I get a call, my CVG joint is bad, the boot is "completely ripped open", and I need to replace my shocks and struts. Umm - the shocks and struts were replaced just 10,000 miles ago. "oh, we just recommended that because of the mileage." CVG is like $350 a side to repair. I go to inspect the joint on the rack. Boot was completely intact, and just a tiny bit of leakage. (and still fine 30,000 miles later too!) The service guy kept pressuring me to replace the CVG joints, told him just the tires. I could not get out of there fast enough! No problems with the stores in St Pete and Bradenton.
