I have known Krista since she started doing hair, I went into the salon she previously worked at and watched as she learned from some of the best in the business...mostly extensions. Her passion, dreams and life outside of her family is to change her clients lives, giving them confidence, happiness and a non judgmental, relaxing experience as she works her magic. Monaco salon is on a different level than any salon in the area. Monaco gives the top salons in NYC and LA a run for their money! Dillion, DeeDee, Damaris and Billy are truly talented in their expertise In hair color(hello Paul Mitchell) and between Krista and her hair extension team,(Maggie & Marissa) they can change your life in a mater of hours. The staff at Monaco, puts their clients as their top priority. You will walk out those double doors with so much confidence. Krista makes sure everything runs smoothly, as does Dillon, but everyone works as a team. I had a traumatic experience where another stylist at another salon in the Tampa Bay Area, Burt my hair off leavening me with burns on my scalp and less than 1" of hair...and my hair was at my shoulder blades prior. I went to Krista and her salon after reading reviews, terrified of the future of my burnt off hair. I went into their, embarrassed, humiliated and with no confidence. I thought I would have to hair a similar hair cut to my husband. The team at Monaco was able to transform my hair seamlessly to long luscious 18" locks, and no one knew anything, except I had to go dark to let my hair grow. I cried when the chair was spun around to the mirror. I only let the team at Monaco touch my hair and this month(July) marks a year since the trauma happened. I had to sacrifice my blonde as much as I wanted to be blonde again; and go dark: we havent processed my hair and my hair is longer and thicker naturally than it ever has been. I continue to get my extensions and will never stop. Krista is compassionate and down to earth. When life challenges you, Krista understands and will try her best to make atleast one aspect of your life happy. She genuinely cares and remembers every client that comes through the doors. If you have any questions you can contact me. Ive had different types of extensions done at Monaco, and i will never go anywhere else. Im so excited about the new hair and lash salon that Monaco is opening in South Tampa. Thank you Team Monaco for transforming my life!!

Being new to Tampa I thought I finally found my salon! I have been to Monaco salon 5+ times over the last year to have highlights/lowlights. Every time I left feeling great, always getting compliments on the color and dimension. The last time I went I requested a partial highlight/lowlight with the same stylist as the previous visit. I asked her to do exactly what she did last time but a partial instead of a full since I still had a lot of lowlights underneath. The lowlights turned out multiple shades darker than the previous visit and looked very grey. After the first wash the color only got worse. The blonde highlights were bright/silver-ish white and the overall contrast of the dark and light looked terrible. Since it was only a partial the whole top half of my hair was 3-4 shades darker than the bottom half. I was unhappy with the color before leaving the salon and I was told the porosity of hair can change over time...but 6 weeks from my last visit its hard to believe that my hair would take the same color in such a different shade. After going to a different high end salon in the area to get a second opinion to convince myself I wasnt crazy I was told that I would need a full color correction to remove the gray (Im 29...its not natural gray!). They couldnt believe they allowed me to leave the salon with the objectively gray color so noticeable and suggested that I go back to Monaco to have it corrected. I contacted the salon to have it corrected and since I work 8-5 during the week the earliest they could get me in was over a week and a half from the date I called. After I called back to request an appointment sooner than that (who wants to walk around with grey hair?!) the salon provided a full refund which I DO RESPECT. I am leaving a review because although they provided a refund I was stuck finding a salon to do a full color correction service and out an additional $150 for the corrective service. I appreciate the refund but the lack of ownership on their end to quickly fit a client in to correct the service was very disappointing. For the price and quality you can do better in the area. I am still buying conditioning products to try to bring my hair back to being healthy. People thought your review was: Useful 1

I have been to numerous salons/hairstylists everywhere and this has been the best place in Tampa! Im not exaggerating when I say this, but people have messed up my hair and I always have to come back for color correction. My hair is naturally black, but of course, I dont like my natural color, so I always try to get highlights. Ever since I went to NYC to get my hair highlighted, no one can match that UNTIL I met Dillon at Monaco Salon in Tampa!! He is ABSOLUTELY the best!! The first time I came to him was bc I walked out of a salon with 7 different colors in my hair and bc the salon was closing, they didnt even blow dried my hair! The next time, I couldnt get an appt with Dilon, I was stubborn to go to another salon in Tampa and my hair also ended up having 3 different colors with the front of my hair around my face was yellow/white bleached blonde! Then I politely told the other stylist that I cant have my hair look like that, so she scheduled me for the week, which she ended up not asking how I want it to be fixed, and then my hair turned black and darker than my original hair color! I told her before that I dont like my hair black, red or bleached blonde. Anyway, Im done looking for a stylist in Tampa!! Going back to Dillon/Monaco, the place is very welcoming. I like the setup they have where you can see the Color Bar while theyre mixing the colors. I had to wait a little bit for Dillon to finish working with another customer, but it was WELL WORTH IT!! (You cant rush this stuff and I wouldnt want him to.) He really listened to what I had to say and I like his personality--He is also honest, so talented, funny and gives you advice on what to do without pushing you to buy any of their product line, etc. It also made me feel like he took me in as a "lost puppy" waiting to be saved, haha!! Im usually open to different styles/colors, but not when the stylists do not listen and let me leave the salon looking a "hot mess"! lol. I hope Dillon never leaves, because like I said, he got the hair color I wanted the first time around, which NEVER happens to my hair. He also cut/styled it and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED (and still do love) IT!!!!!! Thanks so much Dillon!! Keep being AWESOME!! See you next time!! (:

BEWARE! Let me begin by stating that I waited a month to write this review. I wanted to wait for my anger to settle down in an attempt to be unbiased. Unfortunately, I am still feeling very dissatisfied and angry about my experience at Salon Monaco. The second thing I want to stress is that the service I received was for my WEDDING. The one day in your life your hair really needs to look perfect. I made my appointment about a month in advance with Amanda. She was very warm and inviting and took time to figure out what I wanted. I brought in the hair add-on (thank you Jessica Simpson) so she could match the color...very basic hi-lite/low-lite, something I have had done many times. I was not the slightest bit worried... ...flash forward 24 hours, 2 trips to the salon, 4 different people (including the owner) working on my head, and ELEVEN total hours. After all of their very, very hard work (this is not sarcasm), my hair was still tinged with a greenish-gray tint. I was told it was the at home color I have used for the last 5 years (which has never been a problem at any other salon). I was told my hair just didnt take (its blonde...any color would take to it). I was told that it would fade in time for my wedding... ...flash forward 11 days...the night before my wedding. Yes, the gray in my hair had faded. I went through a bottle of clarifying shampoo, and half a bottle of dawn liquid dishwashing detergent (a trick I was told to by my little sister who is a stylist in NH). Unfortunately it still had a muddy, disgusting hue to it that looked like dirty water. Luckily for me, my little sister saved the day and did something called a "soap cap"...I cant explain the science behind it, but it was left on my hair for about 5 minutes and voila! Gray gone! The ironic thing? My sister has only been a stylist for about 6 months. I cant fathom the years the professionals who worked on me those two days have between them and they couldnt figure it out. So you have been warned Tampa. Perhaps I am just that one person who didnt get what they hoped for...there are plenty of stellar reviews on this salon. But I wanted to ensure my experience was noted.
