Do not, I repeat DO NOT under ANY circumstances take your car to these crooks! My Low Coolant Warning light came on in my 2000 Saturn, put some water in it to get me to work until I could take it to a shop the next day. Well, next morning on my way to the shop I saw smoke starting to billow out from under the hood of my car. Got it to Pep Boys and they tell me it will be an HOUR before they can even get it into the bay to look at it and then charged me $42 for an evaluation. Got a call from them an hour and half later and they told me I had a cracked radiator and suggested that my hoses should be replaced and that it will be cheaper to do it now than it will be to do it later. The guy Paul then proceeded to tell me that to replace the radiator would be $730 and the hoses would be $190. Well needless to say, I dont exactly have $1000 to do a major repair. My mom suggested I take it to a different repair shop called Running Great Auto. Since it was later in the day (around 5pm) they said we could keep it at their shop overnight and they would look at it in the morning. Running Great called me this morning and said MY RADIATOR WAS FINE!!!! They said my WATER PUMP was what needed to be replaced. And they proceeded to quote me only $240 parts and labor to do the work. MY JAW DROPPED!! Pep Boys was going to charge me $1000 to replace a radiator and hoses WHEN THAT WASNT EVEN THE PROBLEM!!! Then they probably would have turned around and charged me $500 to actually fix the water pump IF they would have even figured out the problem. I will never take my car to Pep Boys ever again, not even for one of their overpriced oil changes. From now on, I will ALWAYS be taking my vehicle to Running Great Auto on Nebraska Ave.

9/21 I just left pep boys for a simple oil change. I purchased the oil and filter online/through pep boys and asked that my oil and filter be used for the change. I went in around 3 to set up an appointment for 6:00pm. After waiting 25 minutes for them to even take the car in to the shop, I had a clear view of my car and the mechanic working. I understand that they get dirty (the mechanics) but to rest your oiled/greased up body on my car is unnecessary. Certainly that angered me but not to the point of losing my cool. The fact that I had my vehicle in a car show not 24 hours prior to this angered me. The car was flawless as far as appearance goes and this shmuck throws his forearms on it....and this is where and the why of this review. He took a paper and wrote notes (or whatever) on the damn hood of my car! I thought I saw what I saw but I couldnt be 100% certain, which is why I didnt storm in the garage and make a scene. Long and short of it, the clear coat of the hood of the vehicle now shows minors scratches. For a guy that puts his car in a car show and to allow another man to treat it like its another POS is not acceptable. Its too dark now (7:38pm) to take pictures but if I can upload pictures after a review is posted I certainly will. The only reason this shop didnt get a 1,out of 5 is because the lady at the front desk was nice when I walked in and when I paid for the service. OH...and if ANYTHING I said is doubted, I did notice security cameras in the garage, wonder if thatll get checked to verify my story.

Today was my 3rd and final time using Pep Boys.I made an appointment to get an oil change and showed up at 1:45. I was told that there was about a half hour wait before my car would be seen, which was fine with me. I didnt leave the shop until 4:45. Since when does an oil change take 3 hours?? When I asked the associates at the service desk what the repercussions were when the oil change wasnt the advertised 30 minutes, I was told to read the "fine print" and that the 30 minutes will start from the time my car enters the bay. Well ... what good does that do if it takes over 2 hours for my car to enter the bay? I always set an appointment when I come in and on every occasion I have waited over 2 hours for the work to be completed. They have previously quoted me for $5000 worth of work and my vehicle is only 3 years old. When I took my car to get a second opinion, the mechanic informed me that i was quoted for parts my vehicle does not even have and work my car definitely does not need. I find their service to be lackluster, as they dont keep you up to date on the status of your car. The only reason Ive continued to use them are their coupons , but for the $20 I "save" Id rather just go somewhere else where I can get timely service and a piece of mind.

This place doesnt even deserve a star, I call a day in advance to get a quote on replacing my radiator, and Im told it would be around 400, price and labor included. I arrive the next morning at 8 to drop off my car and confirm with the manager who was the person who quoted me the previous night that we had discussed it already. He takes my car and tells me hell call me when he has a definite price for me. Well, the final quote was 966 dollars. 680 for JUST the radiator. The manager claimed he doesnt remember giving me that initial quote. So I tell them not to touch my car. Ill go elsewhere, no hard feelings I understand. I get there and these guys cant even find my car keys.. their screwing around not only pissed me off, but made my girlfriend late to work. I eventually (after waiting ten minutes, having this guy come back to tell me he cant find them) go and look for them myself. And find them in a few minutes. In a plastic bag, on the ground, next to my car in the parking lot. I will never be seen near this establishment again and I regret wasting my time, effort and gas on such a clown fiesta.

Dont ever rent a Budget Truck from here. First was treated rudely by staff manager who looked like a cast member from Dance Fever. Reserved a 10 truck over the phone with Budget, but when I got to Pep Boys was told the last person who rented it hadnt brought it back and was 3 days overdue. When I called Budgets 800 number they said their records showed the truck being back from its last rental, so I should of known after this incident that things were shady. On a time constraint to move so rented the only thing they had left which was a 16 truck. Treated rudely once again by the John Travolta wanna-be before giving up my $500 to rent the truck Drove it back to my apartment it seemed fine, spent a day loading it, pulled off and the air conditioner did not work. Maybe the reason they hadnt properly reported the reserved truck not being back is because an employee was using it free of charge, maybe John Travolta was having a bad day or going through woman problems, or maybe they really just dont give a damn. This place cant go to hell, it already is hell...trucking hell.
