Harassed By An Arab ("Trainer") MOUSTAFA. I am a member of LA Fitness for many years now, I am also a member of 4 different gyms in town and the one on University Pkwy is by far unfriendliest and tittle stress club be more appropriate. Very unfriendly stuff and nobody even says hello when you walk in or bye, have a nice day or such when you leave. Ever. 5 days ago, New Years Eve 4pm or so, I went to gym on University Pkwy and for no reason at all I was attacked by Moustafa! They moved some machines around, but there was maybe 7-8 people total in gym and just before closing time on new years eve. I look for the machine that I needed and that wasnt in its usual spot where it stood for couple years. Ive seen it right in front of aerobics area at the corner. While I am using machine IN THE MIDDLE OF REPETITION, Moustafa walked up to me out of the blue and said "you have to leave this area"! I am in the middle of repetition and at first I thought that he was joking and I jokingly answered "no habla ingles". He started being more forceful and said, I know you speak English, you have to leave! Hmm, I said why come at me so strong and why do I have to leave? "This area is for personal training and you are not allowed here" he said. I said, there is no sign to say that this is restricted area or that access is denied and Ive been using that same area for years. He started being even more forceful, giving no explanation, and said: " this is my gym and I tell you you have to leave"! I asked again, why are you so mean? I asked that 3 times. No answer. All along I am trying to figure out what would posses the Arab Moustafa to come at me for no reason at all and to start harassing me? Is it because I have a large tattoo of a Christian Cross on my arm? this is all happening very fast and I vaguely remember that Ive seen somewhere that his name is Moustafa, and I am now wondering is this why he attacked me? I asked if his name is Moustafa and he lied to me and say it is not.. He started closing the area with the tape and came into my face ( I guess now frustrated that I figured out that he is an Arab?) I dont know, I am still puzzled to what happened and why?? I should not think of any of that and it shouldve never happen! He started it all. He used the curse words, 4-5 times and when I asked him once again is his name Moustafa and why is he so mean to me, he told me: "Get the f..k out of my gym". I said very calmly to him: This is not your gym, you are just a low level employee of a corporation LA Fitness, bottom of a food chain. He then threatened me some more nad used more curse words and foul language!. At that point, my day was ruined and I could not get back into exercise... I decided to take a high road and go home, perhaps talk to manager about this horrible experience and attack by Moustafa. As I am walking out, Moustafa the Arab is following me outside and yelling "Get the f..k out and never come back to my gym again!" ?? I then turned around with only intention to now make an official complaint as this could not be tolerated. As I turned around, he got scared and started saying "dont you touch me" dont you touch me". ?? What the hell was his problem? I remember thinking that he is on something or whatever and that he is pathetic. I just walked pass him and didnt say a word. I went inside and asked for a manager to complain about the harassment by Moustafa. I came to a gym that is health club, not stress and harass the customers club. Definitely not to be threatened by Moustafa and to be told to get the f..k out and never come back!! Maybe he is taking steroids that made him angry/aggressive or something, (if not Muslim against Serb? after seeing my cross tattoo.)? I dont know what is his problem. What I do know that I did not deserve this and that it is unacceptable behaviour period. There was no manager so another trainer took my statement. I ask for apology and 5 days later I did not receive it. Hence here doing this :( If anything he should offer training class or tips, not harass customers!

I would like no stars at all!! Last night I truly had the worst experience at this gym. I was told if I made an appt. with a personal trainer he would walk me through the gym and show me how everything works etc. I had a nice session with one of the trainers. What I didnt realize is the way they sell this personal trainer program is by having someone sitting behind you listening to your whole session/questionnaire and then using that information if necessary as a way of humiliating you into signing up for a personal trainer. Patrick, the person I feel was abusive gathering all my information from eavesdropping, would not take no for an answer. I told him we just had a daughter get married and were financially strapped at the moment and just couldnt spend $200 a week on a personal trainer. He leaned down after not breaking me down and asked the other trainer if I drank, and the guy says yes, wine, 2 glasses a day (they ask you this) and Patrick turns and suggests I give up drinking to pay for it. Again, I said no, he then asks if I have a commitment problem. I said my commitment was the $50 a month membership I just signed up for. He still pelted me with information he retrieved from the conversation even saying I like the "nice" things in life but clearly do not care about my health. This experience was HUMILIATING and borderline abusive. If this is their sales tactic at the "2nd best LA Fitness location in the U.S." for trainers the experience SUCKS!! It will be difficult even going back they made it so uncomfortable. PATRICK, SHAME ON YOU!

This place is a nightmare. Employees lie and promise you anything just to get you to sign for personal training. They told us that they are licensed physical therapists. They told us that there is no cancellation fee and we can cancel anytime. In reality you cant cancel unless you buy out of contract which is 50% of yearly cost (in our case over $1,000). Trainers are not qualified and have no working ethics. They are not showing for appointments and you get whoever is there. They do not know more bout exercise than any average Joe. If you want to cancel they tell you that manager is not there. They will not tell who is manager and when he/she will be in. We had to do charge back through the bank and it took 3 months but we won and got our money back. LA Fitness tried to take money from our account using different merchant accounts and changing amounts. After we block acct they started collection calls and each call was from different state and with weird caller id names. How this company still stays in business? They should be shut down for illegal biz practices!! For those of you who consider signing up with LA Fitness my advice is: Run as far away as you can!!
