I have been training with Casey for over 4 years now. I started with him at Crossfit Body Mechanic and have followed him over to Crossfit FTM. I started Crossfit after recovering from major back surgery, full inter body fusion of L5-S1 in 2012. Knowing this, Casey was cognizant of tailoring workouts to my ability and kept on me about scaling weight keeping my ego at bay. I am a Registered Nurse and have a good working knowledge of how the body works and I can tell you first hand that Caseys knowledge of the anatomy and bio-mechanics is outstanding. On occasion, I may have tweaked a muscle, whether it be in the hip, back, knee or elbow and Casey has always offered up exercises to do at home and on occasion has had me perform them right there at the box. There have been many times where hes personally fixed a muscular problem Ive had given his knowledge of bio-mechanics. Going above and beyond for his clients like that sets him apart from most coaches out there. He cares about his clients physical and spiritual needs and begins each class with a quick but very effective prayer. The new box that he is running, Crossfit FTM is very family oriented. My daughter will attend classes with me and he is always aware of the music that is playing and will quickly change it if it is not family appropriate. Something that Ive greatly appreciated. No one wants to work out with their 15 year old daughter while unedited gangsta rap is playing. That has happened to me at other gyms and Ive always appreciated him keeping his box family oriented. The workouts are tough and challenging. Equipment is superb. He has a happy go lucky attitude when coaching and can get stern and quite motivational when he sees you slacking. Safety is his priority. I never thought I would be able to dead lift over 300lbs after having a lumbar fusion, however, I am now approaching 400 after training with him. He focuses on proper form and mechanics constantly. Stretching my thoracic/lumbar area during his warm ups has definitely lead to a miraculous recovery after such an invasive surgery and I owe much of that recovery to his technique and motivation. I would highly recommend Crossfit FTM to anyone interested in getting involved in Crossfit for the first time or seasoned Crossfit veterans.

I Love Crossfit!!...BUT NOT THIS GYM!...After trying out Crossfit a few times at different boxes I finally committed to making a life style change and joining this gym. When I started, I received plenty of individual attention from Casey, the owner, as well as his 2 assistant coaches. BUT this place has gone down hill. Since the other reviews, the gym has expanded in the number of clients, but the number of staff has not. There is very little coaching given to moderate and advanced athletes. The coach to client ratio is sometimes 30+ clients to 1 coach. On top of that Casey also works out with us most of the time instead of coaching us; leaving us without assistance. Sometimes there is an assistant coach teaching a beginners class on the other side of the gym, but she/he can help so many people at one time. People are not getting the help they need most of the time, because there are not enough coaches on the floor. The place is a serious injury waiting to happen. I did not see myself progressing, so I left for another box. At all of the other Crossfit gyms I have tried out in the area, there is usually 1 coach for every 10-15 clients. Those coaches also have more certifications and are able to teach past the beginner stage. Overall I would only suggest it as place to try out for a month with a cheap Groupon, to see if Crossfit is for you. Then if you like it, find a better box! The few extra dollars its costs to go elsewhere are SO WORTH IT! -Again- This review does not reflect my opinions about Crossfit in general--just this particular gym. -Also this gym is terribly dirty

Wow, well where to begin. It was all great and sweet to start out, and I love crossfit, so I thought I would join the closest box to me, and I found this place. Well the whole $25 bucks for the first month sounded attractive, and I joined. For the first month it wasnt bad, I mean im not a beginner but im not advanced, but I could see that casey was doing some techniques "different" than what I had learned, and I just ignored it. Well a few months in I noticed that my progress had slowed dramatically, and that there wasnt any more room for improvements because casey only knows the basics, and even then I would be careful of what he teaches, you can seriously hurt yourself. I noticed that he didnt care about his clients, and he was only in it to make money, he would rush us out and not let us finish the W.O.D. even though he initially said that we had all the time we needed. Oh and I would suggest that anyone going in, or that is already there check how many competitions he has been to lately, how he performed, and what certifications he has, and compare it to other gyms. Also check if the other "trainers" in his gym are crossfit certified. Overall its pretty depressing at this point, and I left to a better gym, that is further away, but is cheaper and provides better training. p.s. he has no way of keeping track of how many times you come a week, so go as many times as you want

I honestly dont know why this Jason Wolfe person has his panties in a bunch. What a total misrepresentation of Crossfit Body Mechanic! I have been doing Crossfit for a while now and I have a competition coming up, so I know what it takes to get serious! I live in Cali and belong to a box there, but when I visited my family over winter break for a month, I tried this box out, and I got totally addicted! I completely felt welcomed at the start and Casey, the owner, made wonderful improvements to my lifting form and the WODs that he writes everyday are challenging and legit! The old location has just changed to a new box location and what you may see now, is not how this Jason person has described. With every box there is an ebb and flow to their styles and if your a serious Crossfitter, you come for the camaraderie, the experiences of the coaches and for you to work your butt off to make those PRs! People that may complain about this boxes "unsightly" gym, must be used to working out on the elliptical at 24hr fitness. Crossfit isnt for posh princesses Jason, its for serious athletes! I would highly recommend you try this box out and see for yourself how amazing the environment is and how much you will improve on your Crossfit body mechanics!

CrossFit Body-Mechanic is the only place to go in the area for safe, monitored and intense workouts. With the professional guidance of Casey, staff and his assistants, regardless of your physical condition - they will take you to another level you thought you never had and then additional levels that are quite awesome and surprising. I speak from personal experience as I had no idea what my body was able to do and I am extremely pleased with the results and even more pleased with the comments I get from family and friends on how I look. I have been with Casey now for over 5 months and I am in the best shape of my life (stamina, cardio and physique). The amazing comment I have for this review is that being in the best shape of my life is only a small part of why I love cross fit and more importantly Casey place - a larger reason is the community environment you will find at CrossFit Body-Mechanic. It is a geat feeling to be comfortable with your surroundings when you work out and even greater when you feel like an integral part of the group/team/family. Very friendly and outgoing members, a great coach and professional in Casey and if you want to feel good and look great - join now and experience what this team can do for you.
