Im in the military so as you can imagine I have use a fairly good number of self-storage units throughout my career. Extraspace in Valrico is the number one self-storage I have used in the last decade and a half. The units are very clean and I have had both an out-door and in-door unit here. What raises them to the top of my list is their emphasis on security of my stuff and the excellent staff. Getting in and out is not difficult, even after hours. After a short discussion with the on-site director my worries were about security were completely satisfied. They go well beyond the industry standard and if you have any questions they can explain why they are better than the average self-storage unit. This site in particular has a manager who is prior service military (Navy if you really want to know, but prior service is service and professional, personable and a real plus to this site) and understood my concerns about storing my stuff, deploying and having something happen while deployed. There was an issue with my autopayment (on my side not theirs) and we communicated easily by e-mail to fix the issue while I was in Afghanistan. After I returned I learned the manager was now responsible for multiple sites in the area so a shout out to Larry if he is they person over your site you should rest easy that if you have an issue he will do whatever he can to make things right. Anyway when I got back I met Justin at this site who was mature, and professional. We talked about what I would need when the movers come to pick up my stuff in a couple weeks and how to make that go as smooth as possible. I did not keep up with my key to my unit and he had to help me cut the lock to my unit and replace it with a new one. Even if you dont go to extraspace you MUST use one of the rounded high security locks that they sell here and other places. I purchased another one that day even though I had another padlock in my truck after watching what it takes to actually cut one of these locks. They are not easy to cut, even with the correct equipment. It was very convenient that they had these locks available for sale and I am now a believer in them. If someone got passed all the other security they have, I can guarantee you they will go find someone with a traditional padlock and mess with that because the circular one takes a long time to defeat where a padlock takes just a couple seconds to cut. I am not in anyway affiliated with this place and I very rarely write reviews. The only reason Im writing this one is because I actually believe extraspace in Valrico is the best self-storage I have ever used, and because Justin mentioned that if I was happy with them I could review them here. Look, if you find a cheaper place I guarantee you will get what you pay for and knowing that if I have any issue whatsoever I can contact them is the peace of mind you cannot put a price on.

Shannon was absolutely fantastic. She was able to rent me a unit on last minute notice and I was only able to spend 10 minutes there to complete the rental application and payment process. She did all of it in the 10 minutes I had and I was on time for my appointment that I had scheduled. Now that is what I call outstanding service. I have rented here before and never had any problems. The facility is always clean and they are very respectful. They go out of their way to make sure you are 100 percent satisfied with your unit and the facility. This facility provides hand carts for moving your belongings to your unit and they are very well maintained. I highly recommend this facility if your in need of a storage unit. You wont find the quality, and respectful staff at any other storage facility. Hands down this is the best facility to rent from. Its been three years since my last post, but my praises are just as high! Service seems to be a culture here, since management has changed but the care I receive is always great! Shannon is wonderful, full of solutions to my issues and keeping everything looking fresh. Thanks for your great customer service! Ive been using Extra Space Storage for many years and hope I never have to go anywhere else. The service is wonderful. Larry and his team are always so friendly and helpful. Ive had some big requests but they never bother them. I always see one of them on the grounds, working to keep things look ng clean and fresh. Thanks for all your hard work!

I moved my stuff into a tiny unit in February and in April, 2 months later, my monthly fee was increased over 20%. When I called to talk about this, I had to leave several phone messages, no exaggeration, and not one was returned. It took me taking a ride down there to get any help and even with that, at 2 oclock in the afternoon on a Monday nobody was in the office so I had to sit there and wait 45 minutes till they returned. The customer service is horrible and the fact that they increase my monthly fee after only two months leaves me with absolutely nothing positive to say about this place. There is a giant rat trap sitting right outside my unit.

MY son and I drove from Colorado to Valrico Fl. to clean out and take back some personal items that he wanted to keep.Larry Smith the manager treated us like family immediately.He listened to our problem of not having a truck and suggested some one to help . I called the gentleman and he showed up and on time the next day and cleaned out our rented storage unit, as we had very limited amount of time to complete this move.I was very impressed with Larry Smith going the extra mile to accommodate us with very little time.I personally want to thank Larry Smith for taking care of us.Believe me when I tell you this guy is a true professional.

Larry Smith, the manager at the Bloomingdale, Valrico facility was been a great help to us, and the facility is awesome, clean and safe !
