It pains me to write this posting, esp because Ive been a member for 3 years. Due to recent events, I cant hold my tongue anymore. Where do I begin...Let me start with the positives: always parking, great classes, friendly greeters, the price really isnt as bad as people keep complaining about, love how when there are no classes you can use the rooms for your workouts. Ok so now the negatives, ugh:( For as much as members are paying, their equipment is ALWAYS broken. Esp the treadmills are on the fritz on a regular basis. They constantly run out of towels, which is quite odd in a big gym that claims they have 10K members. The showers/bathrooms, are dirty quite often (recently saw a used feminine product in-it didnt get cleaned up for like an hr). My hubby is recently deployed and he put his membership on hold with the gym. They are still charging him 10.00 even though he cant use it, but they are doing that so that way when he returns he can renew without paying the enrollment fee again. Also, he is able to come for leave, and they are saying he will have to still pay 15.00 a day to use the gym even though he will be here only 2 weeks:( Thanks lifetime, what a way to show our military you care!!-We ended up canceling his membership, so now when he comes back on leave we will have to find another gym for 2 weeks. Last but not least, recently my friend and I were working out together, nothing special at all. They had the nerve to come up to ask if I was training her!! Then gave me a speech about their rules. It turns out they do this quite often with members who work out together!!! When I told one of the staff members downstairs, he said, "Yeah they do that alot, just in the future make it look like you guys dont do the same workout at the same time." Ummmmmm...what? ok so now I am being told in order to have a workout partner, I have to workout a certain way??!!! I was advised to: first I do a set, then she does her set, we cant do it at the same time!!! I didnt know I signed up to have my parents watch over me. They are sooo scared that someone will walk in there and steal their clients, too late buddy, because most of us seek outside trainers at their residence due to the awful trainers you have-who talk behind clients backs and smile in their faces, I know personally because its been done behind me and trainers have to talked to me about other clients. They sent most of the good ones to Johns Creek! Believe me, I have taken all of this up with managers, and they dont give a sh** esp the really young guy Josh who they promoted-does not have the people skills to be at a certain level at all, hes more worried about his cell phone. I will be canceling my membership come the new year when another gym opens up near my place. I used to love LT so much, I didnt mind driving 20 mins everyday to go...I have given them loads of money for training, spas, bootcamps, etc and to be treated like I dont count pretty much sums up my feelings now:( I can only speak for my experience, but I have had friends of mine sign up and soon after cancel. I tried to be loyal...but I dont think they are giving me the option to be anymore. If you do sign up, I hope your experience is more like Angelas below and how mine was at the very beginning. Good luck and happy workouts!!

Been a member for quite a few years and this gym is falling apart. Im there 4-5 days a week, usually for swim training. It used to be a great place to work out. It has one of the best 25m lap pools in town. But now, the entire aquatic center is a mess. One of the three pools (the inside kid-zone pool) has been broken for a while now. This is forcing all of the kiddie campers and swim lessons to clog up the adult swim lanes, making it difficult to find a place to swim. One of the two jacuzzis has been broken for about a month. In the main pool, one of the lane lines has been broken for about 6 weeks and another went missing last week. The bottom of the main pool is always littered with bandaids, trash, and detritus. Makes one wonder what is going on. Are they unable to afford repairs on a timely basis? Why isnt someone vacuuming the pool on a daily basis, as is done in just about every other swim center in the country? Furthermore, it seems like the gym is being run by teenagers rather than adults. Theres no sense of customer service. During the entire summer, they host kiddie camp (basically, a glorified babysitting service). These gaggles of kids are a real pain for those of us there to train, particularly in the aquatic center. They are given priority when it comes to the swim lanes and this is a real downer for those of us adults with limited time to get in a swim. The problem is magnified by the fact that much of the swim facility is "under repair", forcing everyone to share the few outside lanes that still exist. The people running the pool have, on more than one occasion, asked me to give up my swim lane because they have a swim lesson. They think nothing of completely inconveniencing their adult members. And, not to nit pick, but I point this out because its not just this one thing or that. Its the culmination of everything that makes me think this gym is being mismanaged. In the mens locker, I tend to use the same shower stall when cleaning up. I was in this shower for three straight days and there was a bandaid stuck in the corner each day. Arent these being cleaned on a regular basis? On the fourth day, it had been picked it up and put on a shelf, apparently by someone hoping the cleaning staff would finally remove it. I have become very disappointed with LTF, especially considering the cost to be a member. It is supposed to be a "premium" gym, but has certainly lost its charm. I hope this gets turned around because its in such a convenient location and when the pool is clean and in good condition, its a wonderful place to swim.

I have been attending since it has opened and I love it. Being not too familiar with gyms in this category..I was very impressed from the start. I immediately got a resort feel from the place. They are open 24 hours usually and the place has so much to offer. It is indeed a club. Not only do you have your basic weight room with treadmills and elliptical and what not, but you have so many other activities to do. It is an all in one. You got two basketball courts, squash courts, rock wall, outdoor pool, indoor leisure pool w/ water slide, lap pool, hot tubs, saunas, and steam rooms. They also have a great emphasis on their group fitness activities, like yoga, cycling, pilates and dancing. There is a nice cafe that actually serves up some decent food, but I avoid it because I rather not spend money. Has a spa/salon where you can get massages and other beauty services done (for a price..sometimes they have decent specials though). Also there is a child care center, and they run summer camps for kids throughout the summer. I have heard some people complain about it being a little to uppity like. That could be true I guess. If you are familiar with Alpharetta, than you can probably imagine what it would be like. I really dont have a problem with it. I feel like it is very diverse and I dont feel those vibes being given off by people. You also cant really expect this place to be a hardcore gym. You got soccer moms and dads, kids, hardcore lifters, beginners and everything in between. I am sometimes disappointed because they could have more squat racks, but usually I have no trouble getting one because no one is using them. And while it isnt the most hardcore place, they have no problem with hardcore lifters. They dont really mind if you accidentally drop the weights every now and then, or grunt. They dont have policies against squatting or doing dead lifts. If I were to bash it, I would say that they can be pretty strict. About things like guest policies, but cant blame them for wanting to run a tight ship. I also know it can be pretty difficult to cancel. Signing up can sometimes be overwhelming and expensive, but if you are a great negotiator you can avoid some of those costly sign up fees. It can also become very crowded at peak hours in the AM, and around 6pm. I definitely recommend this place for anyone who will appreciate all they have to offer. It is expensive compared to LA fitness and other places, but they offer so much more. Like any membership, just make sure you are utilizing it to its fullest, because if you do, it seems like a steal.
