Here are my feelings about this place: The manager looks POed about something every time I see him. He looks like he is burying inner aggression at all times. And I feel like he stuggles to fake his barely friendly interactions. I feel like he doesnt want to make eye contact. One of these days Im gonna stop biting my tongue and ask him if he is either has roid rage or an unhappy home life. Ok, maybe Im exaggerating a little bit about the manager here but you get my point. I so far I am neutral about other employees that work there. I have always wondered that if planet fitness is a "judgement free zone" then why do they only seem to hire cute college age kids to run their counter. As if these young hotties could possibly empathize with fat people when theyve never been fat. Im pretty sure there is some judging going on by them. You can feel yourself being judged. If i really wanted my patrons to feel unjudged Id hire people in who were at least 50 pounds overweight. That type of employee is the type that needs that included membership anyways to help them help themselves. "Judgement free zone" LOL. Im not buying it. One of the things that I dont understand about this club is that its in a huge market, its a large club, it underprices its local competitors by far and yet its still not a full time twenty four hour club. Sorry, but 24 hour means the weekends too. There are smaller clubs that pull twenty four hour business in southwestern Ohio. So I dont get it. They need to market differently. Ive been in one of their clubs that had a lot of senior citizens in it for example, and they were often in there at 5 or 6AM seven days a week because they are retired and have nothing better to do but take care of themselves and throw around their money. They have a good location also, so what gives?

They went through a couple managers recently and I think they finally settled on one That is a little more personable. Not everyone is made for customer service. The place has a much better feel now. Ive got one issue with this gym, every Friday night about 7pm i get the urge to go work out. Same for Saturday, but they are closed. I guess the owner doesnt want to go full 24 hours during the weekend. Maybe the employees dont support it. Though, Im sure that Im not the only person who wants to go in during off hours when there arent so many people there. After a long week I find its easier to go into the gym on the weekend, its not always easy to make time for it during the week. And I sometimes keep odd hours anyways. I think this area would certainly be able to pull the business to justify adding staff and keeping it open for people like me, especially with the prices other gyms are charging. The Fairfield store was able to do it with some staffing changes and it worked out well. One other thing i realized while there today. A lot of the machines dont go very high in weight. I would say that they are designed for basic conditioning. Maybe its the anti-lunk philosophy, but you cant lift heavy here at planet fitness. The first day i walked in I was living a sedentary lifestyle and I put the whole rack(390 pounds) on the seated leg press and did four sets of 10-12. The weight just didnt go high enough. I need it to go up to something like at least 800 pounds on that machine. Im also well into the upper half of the upper body machines. I just dont feel like I should be able to outgrow the equipment, but in time I easily could. And I was there day 1 on the seated leg press.

I signed up online which was an awesome process. Then I went in to get my card, shirt, whatever was promised to me.....I barely received any customer support at all when I went in. In fact the girl at the counter was more focused on the two guys working with her than the customer standing in front of her. She finally said what can I help you with, I let her know I signed up so she looked for my information, took my picture gave me a key tag and told me to have a nice day. That was it....nothing else. I was kind of dumbfounded so I just left. Two days later I went back for a workout, I asked someone for help and again barely got noticed that I was standing at the front desk. The guy pointed things out to me (again no physical tour) and said enjoy your workout. There were no towels, and I had to ask for paper towels. After reading other reviews it appears that the customer service is not fantastic for others as well...I was starting to think it was me. I am debating on paying for another month because my first month is over and I am not satisfied one bit...I really dont even know how to use anything for fear that the staff is going to think Im annoying them, which defeats the purpose of going to this gym vs. the more expensive more posh gyms. At this point I would rather be around a bunch of lunks than a bunch of rude employees.

Not pleased at all.. Joined up, never got the free t-shirt that was described. I honestly dont mind that much, but it is a little bit of a false advertisement. Went through the personal tour which ended up being a few people together, so it felt awkward. Asked about a private trainer, since this is a service that they do offer, and I got a call saying theyd be in touch with me... Annnnnd.. Nothing. Felt like it was a hassle to even ask again and was told theyd be in touch. But not a single phone call. The next time they called me, they were asking for my new credit card information. I asked what I had to do in order to cancel my account. It is ridiculous. Ive joined the Crossfit gym down the street and Ive thoroughly enjoyed working out there instead.

Average experience. First of all, the music is terrible- 3rd rate, bland, pop. I use headphones to try to drone it out. Id change my review to 4 stars if the music was turned off altogether. If anyone from PF is reading this- look at how many of your patrons are using headphones to avoid listening to this crap. Theres usually enough cardio equipment to go around which is nice, but theres often a wait for a bench and lat machines at busy times. One of the two drinking fountains has been broken for the better part of this month. The 24-hour service is wonderful, especially for someone who works emergency. The staff is always knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The equipment and facility is always extremely clean.

I signed up online so i didnt have to take my cards inside with me. I went to the front desk and waited 10 minutes until someone came over to give me my keytag and everything. He took my picture and handed me my keytag, then told me the womens locker room was through the yellow doorway and if i had questions to come ask. No sticker, no shirt as promised online, no tour, no anything. And when i went to the desk to ask questions they made me feel like i was a burden to them. Ive never been to a gym before i didnt know where anything was or how to work 90% of rhe equipment. Very unhappy about my experience there.
