Hi, my name is Christina and I admired the owners skills & talents with hair on Ig. I finally decided to make an appointment to get the wave curl look (theyre signature hairstyle) I was told the owner wasnt accepting anymore clients at the time, so they suggested to me to make an appointment with Shatori. Before coming to salon, I put a perm in my hair. I let the conditioner sit in my hair, then allow the stylist to wash it off. Shatori told me that was still considered a shampoo/wash (despite only washing the conditioner out). I explained the hairstyle I wanted. From the moment I sat in the chair, Shatori seemed never want to do my hairstyle. I feel she wasnt trying to display her craft, just continuing to complain & giving reasons not to complete my hair. She did my waves and never used the wrap paper, despite everyone under the dryer had the wrap. I was also stunned she didnt use the wrap paper knowing that my hair wasnt "straight" (as what she told me). Overall she did my hair horribly. The customer service was horrible! I even asked her would she even wear the hairstyle she stated no. I felt for my first time at Like A River salon, the stylist shouldve been more open & welcoming. Everyone one else was nice. I also, didnt like that she asked Felicia & Felicia went on saying my hair was straight, yet she never looked or observed in detail my hair. My hair might not been 100% bone straight but it was capable for a much better hairstyle. Im very disappointed and felt you have the right to know how I was treated. If she didnt want or couldnt achieve the look she shouldve said that. I tried to reach out to the manager, but she never responded back to me. I was able to get my deposit back, but the professionalism was horrible! Conditioner hair Hair clearly straight & manageable for waves or a decent style Finally product in the car after leaving shop. Doesnt even look like I just got it done. Im very displeased

Its no secret that Atlanta and Detroit are the hubs of Black hair care in this country. With that said, and after an expensive and botched attempt to start locs here in Louisville, KY, I knew that the best thing for me to do was look into finding someone in Atlanta. I wasnt able to get in to some of the more "popular" salons that have good reputations in Atlanta. One of them, Taliah Wajiids, had an extremely rude receptionist when I called, so that really narrowed things down. With that said, I went on an internet information seeking mission to find somewhere else. Like the Rivers reviews were extremely impressive. I decided to take a chance and make an appointment. Days later, I packed up and headed south for my appointment. I was immediately blown away when I walked in. The receptionist, who I later found out was one of the owners, was on a call when I walked in. However, when she got off, she immediately apologized for not being able to acknowledge me - she then offered me something to drink and pointed out the restrooms. The salon was clean, organized and created an environment of calm. My appointment was with Danielle. Not only was she an absolute delight, but because Id arrived early due to travel time, she started on be almost 30 minutes before my appointment! I was beyond satisfied with the salon, Danielles work and the manner in which I was treated. At one point while I was joking with Danielle, Najah overheard me and took time to come talk to me. Impressed is an understatement for how I feel about driving from KY to GA just to get my hair done. The price point is beyond affordable, and the quality of work and professionalism of the staff (down to the owners fiance who was there greeting guest and bringing beverages as we received services) made my trip worthwhile. I will be back and have no shame driving from KY to GA to get my hair done.

I called on March 10, 2016 to book an appointment and the earliest appointment available for the stylist I wanted was for May 3, 2016. I was charged the $25.00 deposit fee and I booked my flight for the appointment. May 3, 2016 I leave my house at 5:20 am, board my flight at 7:25 am and I arrive in Atlanta at 9:00am. When the plane landed I received two notifications from the salon. One was a text stating my stylist called out because her son was ill and the other was a voicemail. I called the salon and the receptionist said yeah we called you at 8 am to inform you that we had to reschedule you for another day. I told her my flight just landed she said she can book me for the next day before 1pm, I told her I was only in town for the day I flew in just for the appointment. She stated she did not know that and asked if she can call me back. After 20-25 minutes I call the salon back because I was just waiting around the airport and they tell me they are sorry again and they dont have a stylist available to do my hair. I understand that kids get sick, I was just disappointed that I waited almost two months to get this appointment wasted money on the flight to Atlanta just to turn around and go home with a sorry. I had to ask for my $25.00 credit back before I hung up the phone. No accommodations where made to try and squeeze me in with someone else no offered special services for a future date... nothing. Im just left explaining to all of my friends and family why my hair isnt cut.

I found this salon by Google and was so glad I did. God mustve knew my heart because I wanted to book with the owner Najah but of course she wasnt taking anymore clients. So the receptionist recommend some stylist Instagram page so I could see there work and I seen a few I didnt like. So then I called back to see who would be available for the date I needed and to cut a long story short I booked with {KHRISTIE JACKSON......} I so love this lady work. Her and the owner are the best in the shop to me. I tried several different women in there because Khristie is always booked lol.. She always say, u better book your next apt now but I rather just book all at one time.... I went to the owner assistance (Fellissia) once and she did not listen to what I said at all. So you just have to know who u are going to... I tried (Kahlila,) and she did pretty good better then Fellissia but its nothing like the flick of the wrist with Khristie. Shes just a natural. All I tell her is to have it come to my face and the rest is all her...... And yes my profile pic is my transformation picture done by Khristie

First off Ive been looking up this salon for years and couldnt wait to get my hair done here for my 30th before travelling to Vegas. The receptionist was very nice I was 15 mins late and they were still able to accept me.. However that wasnt the problem the stylist was. From the moment she introduced herself she seemed like she wasnt interested in doing my hair or anyone elses for that matter... She didnt make any recommendations for my hair..she looked as my hair like she was disgusted, and she didnt even shape me up good. I got the back of my hair dyed black but only to find left over dye around my ears n neck wth. And when I was checking out the person thats part owner didnt even ask how was my experience or did I like my hair she knew I didnt, but was too busy reading her magazine....Never again. Basically I had to do my hair the next morning. I would say this place is overrated well at least the stylist was... Smh. Never again!!!
